We've tweaked the criteria for obtaining the special Halloween event trophy announced with the update. Previously, you had to acquire a 3-star rating on both Halloween missions to earn the Pumpkin Trophy. We've changed this to earning at least a 1-star rating to encourage more pilots to enjoy the event! You can still only earn it until 10AM PST November 1st, though, so get to pumpkin popping and trick-or-treating!

Nothing is too scary for a pilot, not even spooky skeletons or ghosts... right? Well, it’s time to put your skills to the test in our latest Cargo Drop! It’s almost time for Halloween, and we’ve prepared a goodie bag of updates for Final Approach that will be sure to satisfy your VR sweet tooth.
As always, we’ve been taking in a lot of the feedback received in the past few months to put together this month’s update. We read every post in the forums, every comment on Reddit, and do our best to incorporate your feedback into updates that will keep you coming back to the world we created for you, the fans!
On to the Halloween Extravaganza! We’ve added some big features and content updates to the game, including Halloween-themed levels in Challenge Mode and Free-Play! We’ve also unlocked the first 7 levels, so new players can explore the different types of levels and see more of what the game has to offer.
Halloween Trophy Event
For those of you who have braved the story missions of Final Approach, you’ve already got some decorations for your desk in the hangar in the form of trophies. For our Halloween event, we’ll be awarding players a special pumpkin trophy for completing both of the Halloween Challenge missions with a “3 star” rating with at least one star during the month of October. You have until 10AM PST November 1 to get this special souvenir as a memento of your eerie adventures in Final Approach.
Well, what are you waiting for? Time to rev up your engines with Halloween cheer and ready for landing in some pumpkin-spiced, sugary and scary action!

- “Pumpkin Popping” mission added to Challenge Mode! Flex your multitasking skills to pop pumpkins that coordinate with the color of planes
*Trick or Treating*
- “Trick or Treating” mission added to Challenge Mode! Transport trick-or-treaters to the Halloween block party and protect them from menacing ghosts lurking the streets of Metro City.
*Halloween Free Play*
- Halloween version of Metro City added in Free Play Mode. You won’t be putting out fire on rooftops or helicopters- you’ve got ghosts to exterminate!
*First 7 Levels Unlocked*
- Unlock levels 2-7 in Story Mode after level 1 is completed
- Explore the various mission types and maps available in Final Approach
General
- Upgrade to Unity 5.4, which gives:
- Performance improvements
- Single executable for both Oculus and SteamVR versions
- Doppler effect on spatialized audio such as engine sounds
- Hangar Trophies! Unlock desk trophies for completing missions
- Added visible 10-second countdown that appears during the end of missions
- Airport : Runway landing zone size increased by 50% and raised in the air. Should assist with landing large aircraft.
- Bombs and Balloons (Mission 9) : Bomber values now copied from Greatest Airshow (Mission 10). Bomber now drops 2 bombs (instead of 3) in quick succession (instead of long delay between each bomb) which allows for more-accurate bombing and less friendly fire
- Bombs and Balloons (Mission 9) : Lightning no longer hits the B2 bomber
- Greatest Airshow (Mission 10) : Lightning no longer hits the B2 bomber
Bugfixes
- Fixed Achievement “Baggage Man” : some luggage carts not counting towards achievement count
- Fixed Challenge mission achievements not always being awarded after correctly getting 3 stars on the mission
- Our in-game custom room resizer now accurately reflects how resizing works internally
- Drone Test Day (Mission 7) : Fixed non-swimmers getting eaten by sharks sometimes not correctly failing the mission
- Drone Test Day (Mission 7) : Fixed rare instance where not all the engineers could be carried by the helicopter at the same time
- SubOptimal (Mission 15) : Fixed rare instance where none of the buttons on the sub were interactive
