Hey Anglers,
Today, Fishing Planet turns 11!
On August 11, 11 years ago, Fishing Planet first launched on Steam, and that’s where it all started.
Every Anniversary, we look back at what we’ve accomplished over the past year, and this one has been incredibly busy. Honestly, it feels like every year gets busier, and we couldn’t be happier about it!
Last August, while bringing Noomaa Kuda Atholhu, Maldives, one of your favorite destinations, to consoles, we were already working on something completely different: Norway, with its rough waves, thunderstorms, and new fishing experiences.
We also launched our officialInstagram account in August. It may not be our largest channel yet, but it has quickly become one of our most active places for Fishing Planet news.
Autumn brought Halloween and Thanksgiving events, Tournaments, Twitch Drops, and Black Friday deals. Then Christmas arrived with the release of Skarland Fjord, Norway, on Steam and Epic Games!
The update introduced the Valkyrie Boat with a crane for hauling giant fish, dozens of new gear items, electric rods and reels that so many players had been looking forward to, and the long-awaited Inventory Sorting System. Iconic species like Greenland and Porbeagle Sharks, Atlantic Halibut, European Sea Sturgeon, fierce weather conditions and the Northern Lights made Norway an unforgettable destination. And the Christmas Event was updated with a whole new chain of missions in Norway, which also was a great surprise for many players.
During winter, we worked to bring Norway to more platforms. The journey had a few bumps, and we are still working on the Mobile and Nintendo Switch versions, but the update successfully reached PlayStation and XBOX, where Norway quickly became one of the most popular waterways.
In January, we launched ourofficial TikTok, and it has been an incredible amount of fun ever since! We love seeing you enjoy the game, exchange fishing advice, and find new fishing buddies on all of our social media channels.
Spring brought back the Saint Patrick’s Day Event and introduced the Catch & Compete Update. New rewarding Leaderboards, Competitive Rating and Matchmaking, Daily Missions, and colored Marker Buoys added more variety and joy to your everyday fishing.
Then came the Back to Basics - First Levels Rework Update, and what a response it received! Your excitement and feedback gave us so much energy to continue!
The update improved the experience for new anglers and completely reworked the beloved Lone Star Lake while keeping its cozy atmosphere and Texas spirit. Players finally received a place to call home, complete with a Trophy Room where they can show off their finest catches and relive their favorite fishing memories.
This August we introduced our new official website that we’ve been working on for the past few months. And now, we’re celebrating together with thebrand-new Anniversary Event! It brings years of community fishing experience into one journey, encouraging you to revisit waterways you may have forgotten and explore destinations you haven’t yet discovered.
We know some missions are challenging, take time, or require gear that newer players may not have yet. But the event will return next year. As you level up and improve your equipment, the missions that feel difficult today will become much easier. Until then, enjoy the journey, discover new places, catch what you can, take a walk along the shore, or rent a boat and explore new waters.
Fishing Planet has always been about the journey, and enjoying the road matters far more than simply reaching the final destination.
Eleven years after Fishing Planet first entered the world, we’re still building, expanding, and dreaming, and somehow, it feels like we’re only getting started.
Celebrate with us throughout August! Take part in the Anniversary Event and the Spin the Globe Twitch Drops Campaign, claim free gifts from the Personal Offers tab, enjoy Premium deals and Unlimited Licenses, and save 50% on Japan and Maldives packs on mobile and Nintendo Switch.
On this Anniversary, we also honor the members of our team who are serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and defending our homeland, as well as those who gave their lives defending our country. We remember them, cherish their memory, and remain forever grateful for being able to continue our work every day.
It all started 11 years ago, on August 11. Some say 11:11 is a magical number, a moment to make a wish and hope it comes true.
We may not believe in the magic of numbers, but we believe in a strong team, great ideas, the people who bring those ideas to life, and the incredible community that enjoys and supports them every step of the way.
Thank you for these unforgettable 11 years, Anglers. Happy Birthday, Fishing Planet!

Hey Anglers,
Eleven years ago, the Fishing Planet journey began on Steam and then continued on other platforms. Since then, millions of Anglers have explored waterways around the world, mastered new techniques, landed unforgettable catches, and helped shape the game into what it is today.
Let’s celebrate another milestone together!
The Fishing Planet Anniversary Event is here, inviting Anglers of every level on an adventure across all 27 waterways in the game. You will have to work your way through the event missions and will receive special items and pond passes to the next locations as rewards.
Let’s dive into the event details!
Anniversary Missions
The event features 27 Anniversary Missions, each taking place on a different Fishing Planet waterway.
All missions are designed to encourage you to try different fishing techniques, test your ability to catch fish of specific sizes, and work efficiently to complete objectives within a set time limit and much more. There are plenty of opportunities to put your fishing skills to the test in all kinds of ways.
Over the first week of the event, four new missions will appear on the list each day, gradually opening new locations and challenges. Completing missions rewards you with Credits, Baitcoins, exclusive Anniversary items, and a Pond Pass to your next destination, allowing every angler to experience the full Anniversary journey regardless of level.
You can complete the missions in order, starting with the lowest-level waterways and progressing to the highest, or tackle them in any order you prefer, choosing what you feel like doing each time.
Throughout the event you'll collect exclusive Anniversary-themed items and collectibles created for this celebration. These objects will help you complete the event missions and also can stay with you as trophy items that can be used later in competitions or in your every day fishing experiments.
Fishing Planet Anniversary Collection
Start your morning fishing with delicious coffee and try to catch fish with marshmallows, get surprised how Southern American fish love Guineafowl hearts, feel the thrill of catching ocean giants with a huge Turkey bait!
Find out some old school methods to catch fish using some ordinary household items, like buttons instead of bait and don’t turn your nose on old rusty nails, they can actually make a pretty effective hook!
Cast a spanner instead of a lure and see what happens. Try unique lures made of bone and bronze, carved with animal and spirit ornaments, and feel the power and wisdom that ancient fishermen infused into them.
Enjoy unique Minnow Baits and sneak away with a handful of special Groundbaits from local anglers to send carp into a feeding frenzy!
And let’s not forget about all the special celebration items that you will get as rewards for completing missions! 27 Trophy items that all the Anglers just adore are waiting for you this August!
Fishing Planet Anniversary Event Pack
The Fishing Planet Anniversary Event Pack includes everything you need to jump straight into the event!
Travel the waterways aboard the brand-new Pedal Kayak, equipped with two rod holders and an Echo Sounder. Expand your tackle collection with exclusive Anniversary lures, organize your gear inside the colorful Anniversary Tackle Box, and celebrate in style with the new Anniversary Outfit complete with a headlamp.
In addition to all the Trophy items you get as rewards for completing Event Missions, you get all of them in the pack in amounts of 3-5 or even more items of each. Relax while fishing and don’t be afraid to lose one-of-a-kind items, as you will have plenty to spear.
The pack also includes four unique fishing Bells with distinctive sounds, Inventory Extensions, Marker and Navigation Buoys, Repair Kits, and 7 days of Premium, giving you everything you need for a comfortable Anniversary journey.
Some of the Anniversary Event missions might push you out of your comfort zone, but that's exactly what makes them fun! You'll definitely rediscover some fishing methods or retrieval techniques that you might have not used a lot, explore unfamiliar waters, and chase species you may have not caught before.
This event isn’t just about the catch, it’s about The Community! Learn from each other, share fishing spots, create memories together!
And the celebration doesn't stop here! As tradition goes, from August 6 through August 14 you can enjoy special Premium offers for 1, 6, and 12 months with 60% OFF. The same 60% discount also applies to Unlimited Licenses and Travel Costs across the game.
On top of that, many anglers have been asking for another chance to claim the Crabby Hat, Shark Cap, and Lone Star Welcome Box. We bring back this opportunity, so be sure to grab yours before they're gone again! And one last thing! The Spin the Globe Twitch Drops Campaign is already live. Watch participating streams to earn Pond Passes for 10 waterways, essential baits, Marker & Navigation Buoys, and Baitcoins!
We wish all anglers the best time on the water this August. May the fish keep biting, the trophies keep coming, and the good times never stop. No matter where you play, we hope you'll celebrate this Anniversary with us and enjoy every moment on the water together.
Happy Anniversary and tight lines!

Hey Anglers,
We’ve just released a new update on Steam and Epic Games, featuring a number of UI improvements, bug fixes, and the new Fishing Planet Anniversary Event we teased earlier.
The event begins next week, so stay tuned for a detailed announcement. The update will also be released on consoles before the event starts.
Let’s get down to what's new in this update.
Player Profile: Service Counters
We’ve added Services information to the Player Profile, including Repair Kits, Marker Buoys, Navigation Buoys, Tackle Template Slots, and Recipe Slots, along with their current usage status. Now you can see how many of these services you have and how many you have used in one place.
We've also updated the trophy icons in the Competitions section and improved the display of competition awards.
Inventory Improvements
We’ve added compatibility information for tackle. Click the Info button in your Inventory to view compatible rod and reel types for the selected item. This should make life easier for beginner players who might be struggling when building a setup.
You can now store hats in your Backpack and equip them directly from there. Bring several hats with you to a location and switch between them with ease.
User Interface Improvements
Licenses interface has been updated, making license details easier to read and understand.
From now on you will get a Warning window with a confirmation button when trying to register for a competition on a waterway that requires a Pond Pass or a higher level.
Bug Fix
We've addressed a variety of issues throughout the game, including fixing an issue preventing repairable items from being moved between the Backpack and Homestorage using a controller without repairing them first, and the issue with Tench fish on Ghent-Terneuzen Canal that could be caught very rarely.
Here's what else has been fixed:
Gameplay
Improved equipment compatibility rules for telescopic and match rod setups
Kayak pedaling is now disabled while the tablet is open
Improved travel flow after purchasing a fishing license
Corrected animal behavior at Lone Star Lake
Improved dolphin spawning in Norway
Resolved issues that could prevent teleportation using Navigation Buoys
Fixed an issue where fish could not be landed or lost while trolling with a match rod
Fixed an issue where a Daily Mission requiring a specific retrieve technique could be completed by performing the technique with one rod while catching the fish on another.
Inventory & Equipment
Resolved an issue where dynamic mission names disappeared after updating mission status
Fixed an issue where repairing a rod did not also repair the attached quiver tip
Added the Luminescent icon to applicable rods in the Shop and Inventory
Eliminated the line clip glitch when casting at the minimum distance of 2 m
Resolved an issue with telescopic rods where the line length could unexpectedly decrease from 12m to 7m during a fish fight
User Interface
Corrected text overlap in the Player Profile and bait names in the French localization
Updated the Spanish F1 Help menu to prevent button description overlap
Corrected Shop UI overlaps in the German, Polish, Portuguese, and Italian localizations
Removed the empty Pedal Kayaks subsection from the Shop
Improved search functionality in the in-game Shop when pressing Enter
Updated the names of several inventory items across multiple localizations
Photo Mode & Visuals
Resolved Photo Mode issues affecting character faces and sky rendering
Fixed the Shark Cap not being visible in Photo Mode or third-person view
Fixed the missing Catapult firing sound
Adjusted the position of the flag at Dnipro River
That wraps up the key improvements and fixes included in this update. Thank you for staying with us, sharing your feedback, and supporting Fishing Planet throughout the years. Your passion and dedication continue to inspire our team and help us make the game better with every update.
Stay tuned for the full Fishing Planet Anniversary Event announcement, and get ready to join the celebration when the event kicks off next week. We can’t wait to celebrate this special occasion together with all of you!

Hey Anglers,
We wanted to share a quick update regarding the recent Back to Basics Update on Steam and Epic Games.
First of all, thank you for all the excitement and feedback! It’s been great seeing so many players return to explore the refreshed Lone Star Lake, check out the new Trophy Room, enjoy the update gifts, and experience all the other improvements.
As with any major update, a few issues have popped up, and here’s where things stand:
• The Feeder and Spinning setup issues in Adventure Missions have been fixed. If you were previously unable to complete these missions, please try again.
• Reports about missing Bell sounds, overly loud audio effects, and invisible Marker Buoys are being treated as a high priority and are planned to be fixed in the very next patch.
• Regarding Marker Buoys on Ghent-Terneuzen Canal: due to a miscommunication, the Release Note incorrectly stated that markers would only be removed from Lone Star Lake and Lesni Vila Fisheries. The Canal was also reworked, and its old marker placements were no longer relevant. We apologize for the confusion. All removed buoys have been returned to inventories, and Baitcoins spent on buoy paint have been compensated.
• We're also working on fixes for the Frankenfish Mount not being placeable for some players in the Trophy Room.
• Last but not least, some players have experienced FPS drops at Lone Star Lake. Our team is additionally optimizing the location and investigating these performance issues to improve the experience for everyone.
Several other reported issues are currently being addressed, and a patch is already in preparation. We’re also continuing work on bringing the update to all other platforms, so stay tuned!
If you encounter any issues, please contact [email protected], we are here to help! We truly appreciate all your feedback, bug reports, and continued support.
Thank you, and tight lines!

A New Tutorial & Adventure Missions
We’ve completely reworked the Tight Lines tutorial to make the first steps in Fishing Planet more engaging and intuitive. Beginning at Lone Star Lake, Kayak Rentals, it guides newcomers through the game’s core mechanics, including casting, landing fish, traveling between pins, and selling their catch.
The Tutorial grows into Adventure Missions. Follow mission chains that guide you through the adventures assignments and help you discover the best fishing spots, and reward you with upgraded firmware for Tablet. The missions start at Lone Start and continue at Lesni Vila Fishery.
Now let’s go and check out what’s been done in other locations.
Mudwater River, Lesní Víla, Rocky Lake, Quanchkin, Ghent-Terneuzen Canal
You’ll now be able to take your kayaks to Mudwater River as well or rent one right there. The bite map of the location has been updated, and predator trolling has been added to the river.
Lesní Vila Fishery has been spruced up visually and now also has its own chain of Adventure Missions, along with a reworked bite map and numerous visual improvements across the waterway, including updated terrain and shoreline areas, giving you a great reason to explore this location all over again. Complete the missions to unlock the Tablet Firmware “Lesní Víla Map” with a detailed map of the waterway!
Rocky Lake, Quanchkin Lake, and Ghent-Terneuzen Canal have also received a variety of tweaks and improvements, including bite rate adjustments, new fish species, and many other small enhancements.
Please note that Lone Star Lake and Lesní Vila Fishery have been completely redesigned. As a result, any marker buoys previously placed on these waterways are no longer relevant. To avoid confusion, all marker buoys have been removed from these locations and returned to your inventory, allowing you to place them again and mark your new favorite fishing spots.
The fish bite system on Ghent-Terneuzen Canal has also been significantly reworked, which means some of your existing marker buoys may no longer be in the most productive locations. However, since the waterway itself has not been redesigned, we have not removed any markers. We recommend reviewing your existing buoy placements and updating them as needed to match the new fish behavior.
New Fish Species
A total of 6 new freshwater fish species are making their way into Fishing Planet, each finding a new home across different waterways. Lone Star Lake welcomes Threadfin Shad, Yellow Bass, and the iconic Guadalupe Bass, a species endemic to Texas, which will be available there in all three fish forms, including Unique!
At Mudwater River, Anglers can now target Shortnose Gar, while Rocky Lake gains Greenback Cutthroat Trout and Longnose Dace. Quanchkin Lake also gets a new resident, with Yellow Bass now swimming in its waters as well.
Some of the fish species across all these waterways received additional fish forms, so you can go ahead and check out the locations' fish lists to find what’s been added.
New Competitions & New Achievements
From now on the competitive spirit will start from the map one! You can try chasing Bass from a kayak, targeting Buffalo with precision, or competing for the best Sunfish score at Lone Star Lake, or go for a mud battle to fight toothy gar at Mudwater River.
There have been two new Achievements added catch all fish species of unique form: Senior Limnologist at Lone Star Lake and Hydrobiologist-engineer of the Lesní Víla Fishery.
New Bait and Lures
Every angler loves new baits and shiny tackle, and this update brings a few new additions to your tackle box! We’ve added three new color variations for Bass Jigs, a new Dragonfly Nymph bait, and three Texas-themed lures that you can claim from the Lone Star Welcome Box absolutely free!
A More Immersive Environment
With this release, we’ve started a gradual rework of the game’s overall sound design. Lone Star Lake, Lesní Víla Fishery, Mudwater River, Rocky Lake, Emerald Lake, Neherrin River, Ghent-Terneuzen Canal and White Moose Lake have received completely updated ambient audio, including new bird, wind, rain, weather, and various other in-game sounds.
This is just the beginning, and we’ll continue improving and updating audio across more locations in future releases until all waterways are brought up to the new standard.
For the best experience, we recommend starting with all audio sliders set to maximum. Once you’ve explored the new ambient sounds, feel free to tweak the settings and create your own perfect balance.
UI changes
Inventory Sorting
We are continuing to improve the Inventory sorting and navigation, and it now includes a new All Items category with an expand/collapse option, making it much easier to browse through large item lists without opening every section manually. We’ve also added a Search feature, so you can quickly find a specific item or item group by name instead of scrolling through the whole inventory.
Managing items between the Backpack and HomeStorage has also become more convenient. You can now move entire subcategories between storage tabs, with a confirmation window showing what will be moved and how much space is available. Individual items can be moved in one click, without an extra confirmation step.
We’ve improved the Equipment setup flow to make tackle assembly more intuitive for beginner players. Placeholder icons now better reflect the required item types, equipment rules are more consistent across different setups, and hints provide clearer guidance when something is missing or equipped in the wrong order.
This update also adds automatic category switching when selecting empty equipment slots, making it easier to find the right items for your setup.
Results & Progression Window Improvements
We’ve redesigned the results screens to make the end-of-day and trip summaries more informative and easier to read. Rewards, catches, location details, and completed challenges are now presented more clearly. A new Level Up window has also been added to better celebrate progression and show newly unlocked content and the next location to look forward to.
Time Forward Window Improvements
The Time Forward window now is easier to understand. The chart shows Fish Activity, so it’s more obvious what the graph represents, and Next Morning was renamed to Next Day to be more clear.
We also added a reminder that all fish will be sold when moving to the next day.
Shop UI Improvements
We’ve improved the in-game Shop to make browsing and comparing items easier. The top navigation is now cleaner, filters are better organized, and search and sorting controls are more convenient to use.
We’ve also updated controller navigation in the Shop to make it more consistent with other main game sections. Submenu navigation, item selection, search, sorting, 3D preview, and item description scrolling now have clearer controller mappings, making the Shop easier to browse with a controller.
On top of that, we’ve expanded the local shops at Lesni Villa, Mudwater, and Ghent-Terneuzen Canal with a wider selection of items, giving you more useful options when shopping at these waterways. On Lone Star, the local shop now matches the Global Shop in assortment and prices, helping players explore the full range of available items while getting familiar with how different shop types work.
Setup Compatibility
Finding the right gear combination now will become much easier. When browsing tackle in the Shop, simply click the Rods button to bring up a list of rod and reel types that work with the selected item. Everything is displayed in one place, helping you compare options more easily and build compatible setups with less effort.

Hey Anglers,
As many of you know, we recently released the Catch & Compete Update, bringing a variety of quality-of-life improvements and new daily activities to enjoy in Fishing Planet. But we’re not stopping there, we're continuing to improve and reimagine the overall player experience.
This time, our attention is on the early-game stages and the first-level waterways. That’s why this update has a simple and straightforward name: First Levels Rework.
Let’s take a sneak peak at what we’ve been cooking up.
All Roads Lead to Lone Star
Our stats show that many players keep returning to Lone Star Lake long after they’ve unlocked higher-level locations and new destinations to explore. That’s why we wanted to create a cozier space for you guys to actually feel at home here.
The waterway is being completely reworked: significantly expanded in size with now four new locations and kayaks allowed on the water. There is much more to explore, so keep on reading.
We’ve also reworked the Tight Lines tutorial to make the first steps in Fishing Planet much more engaging for new players learning the game’s core mechanics.
Home Sweet Home
Yes, you’ll finally have a real Home of your own—one you can actually enter and walk around in!
Inside, you’ll find a spacious Trophy Room, one of the most requested features by players of all time. There’ll be plenty of space to show off your finest catches, including the Mounts you’ve brought back from waterways all around the world.
Kayak Rentals
It’s a small spot where any angler can rent a completely new to the game type of kayak.
It is pedal-powered, meaning your character’s hands stay free so you can keep fishing while moving non-stop across the water. It will also come equipped with rod holders, allowing you to troll directly from the kayak.
Set off and move through shallow waters, glide over grass flats, and paddle into quiet coves. Out here, you’ll find spots that stay out of reach from the shoreline, opening up even more opportunities to catch a wider variety of fish.
Lakeside Grill Area
Lakeside Grill Area is a lively part of Lone Star where people from all over the state come to relax, gather by the water, and enjoy a good barbecue and picnic. Here, you’ll be able to begin a brand-new chain of Adventure Missions that will guide you through the updated Lone Star and help you discover fishing spots along the way. Complete them to earn the updated TabletFirmware “Lone Star Map” as your reward, unlocking a much more detailed water map of the lake!
Beaver Dam
Beaver Dam is a rough area of the lake shaped by the natural activity of local beavers. Fallen trees and small dams create shallow cover that smaller fish like to hide in. Explore this quiet lake bay, but be careful with your casts, as the local beavers have scattered fallen trees all around the area, both above and below the water.
There’s also a small island now hidden behind the dam. If you manage to make your way there, you’ll find an Insect Hotel tucked among the wild nature. Visit it once a day to collect a free bait reward before heading back out onto the water!
Mudwater River, Lesní Víla, Quanchkin, Rocky Lake, Ghent-Terneuzen Canal
While Lone Star Lake received a complete rework, some of the following locations also got a few updates and improvements.
You’ll now be able to take your kayaks to Mudwater River as well or rent one right there. The bite map of the location will be updated, and predator trolling has been added to the river.
Now, let’s get to the fish - the part every angler is always most excited to discover.
Guadalupe Bass
Guadalupe Bass is a freshwater predatory fish native to Texas. Lone Star Lake will be the only location in the game where you will find this pretty fish. It prefers well-oxygenated waters with rocky or gravel bottoms. Its diet typically consists of small fish, crustaceans, and aquatic insects. It responds well to live bait, small lures, and natural baits, which makes it a popular and engaging target for sport fishing. Depending on the time of day and feeding activity, Guadalupe Bass can hunt from the bottom to the surface. It is most active during daylight hours, when its energetic feeding behavior is easiest to observe.
Threadfin Shad
Threadfin Shad will also be added to Lone Star Lake. It is a small freshwater forage fish commonly found in warm lakes, ponds, and slow-moving rivers. It plays a crucial role in aquatic ecosystems as a key food source for larger predatory fish and is often used as a natural bait. Threadfin Shad is typically found in the mid-water layers and near the surface, where it forms dense schools. The species is mainly active during daylight hours, moving in tight schools as it feeds.
Yellow Bass
Yellow Bass will be added to Lone Star and Quanchkin Lake. It is a freshwater predatory fish that thrives in warm lakes, reservoirs, and calm sections of rivers. Yellow Bass feeds mainly on small fish, as well as crustaceans and other aquatic invertebrates. It responds well to live bait and worms. Most often found in the mid-water layer, it will rise closer to the surface during feeding periods. The species is mainly active during daylight hours, with peak biting activity occurring in the early morning and late evening.
Shortnose gar
Shortnose Gar is a new inhabitant of Mudwater River, it prefers slow-moving rivers and shallow warm lakes with abundant vegetation. Shortnose Gar feeds primarily on small fish and juvenile specimens of other species, occasionally taking crustaceans and large aquatic insects. It is most often encountered in the upper water layers and responds well to live bait. The species is mainly active during daylight hours, when it can be seen patrolling quietly near the surface before striking its prey.
Greenback Cutthroat Trout
Greenback Cutthroat Trout is a rare and highly valued freshwater trout native to Rocky Lake, Colorado. It lives in cold well-oxygenated waters and feeds mainly on aquatic and land-based insects, as well as invertebrate larvae. Larger individuals may also hunt small fish and crustaceans. Greenback Cutthroat Trout responds well to natural baits and artificial lures, especially insect imitations, and often feeds at the surface during insect hatches. Its activity is strongest during daylight hours and around dusk.
Longnose Dace
Longnose Dace is a freshwater fish adapted to well-oxygenated cold waters with rocky bottoms and is a perfect addition to Rocky Lake. It serves as an important forage fish for larger predators. Longnose Dace is usually found near the bottom, where it feeds mainly on small aquatic invertebrates, insect larvae, and organic matter. The species is most active during daylight hours.
New Bait and Lures
Every angler loves new baits and pretty shiny trinkets. You will get a few in this update as well!
Dragonfly Nymphs inhabit shallow freshwater areas with dense vegetation, reed beds, fallen branches, and muddy bottoms. As a natural part of the food chain, they make an excellent bait for predatory fish species, especially Bass that actively feed near cover and shoreline structures.
Popular Bass Jigs have also received several new vibrant color variations, expanding the available palette further.
As for the lures, you will get three Spoons that will always bring a little piece of good ol’ Texas fishing spirit wherever the water takes you! And there’s a little surprise waiting for you with them, so stay tuned!
A Few More Things
With this release, we’ve started a gradual rework of the game’s overall sound design. Lone Star Lake, Lesní Víla Fishery, Mudwater River, Rocky Lake, Emerald Lake, Neherrin River, Ghent-Terneuzen Canal and White Moose Lake have received completely updated ambient audio, including new bird, wind, rain, weather, and various other in-game sounds.
This is just the beginning, and we’ll continue improving and updating audio across more locations in future releases until all waterways are brought up to the new standard.
We’ve also been working on a lot of smaller quality-of-life improvements. Inventory management is getting more convenient with item search, quicker category filtering when equipping gear, and the ability to move items between your Backpack and Home Storage either individually or in bulk. You’ll also notice improvements across various UI windows, making navigation and everyday tasks feel smoother.
Premium Account anglers will notice a few extra benefits as well. Beyond the well-known XP and Credit boosts, Premium comes with plenty of quality-of-life perks, including lower repair costs, faster groundbait mixing time, free boat rentals and competition registration, extra Daily Missions, and several advantages for Fishing Together sessions. With the addition of free Marker Buoy painting and free Daily Mission regeneration, Premium is now more rewarding.
This update is all about making Fishing Planet more enjoyable and accessible for everyone. With numerous quality-of-life improvements and a more beginner-friendly experience for new anglers, we're laying the foundation for an even better journey from the very first cast. Best of all, these improvements will be available to all players for free. We can't wait for you to try the update and share your feedback with us on the water!

Hey Anglers,
As many of you know, we recently introduced the new Matchmaking and Competitive Rating System. The goal of these changes was to create a more balanced and skill-based competitive experience.
Unfortunately, some players have shown unsportsmanlike behavior. However, we were prepared for the possibility that this might happen. Since the release, we have been closely monitoring the situation, and we have had a plan on how to improve the system and eliminate possible exploits. A patch with these updates will be released soon.
In the meantime, we review the Leaderboards every week and disqualify players who use unfair methods to receive rewards. Last night was no exception: those who attempted to exploit the system and reach the top positions unfairly were disqualified and restricted from competitive activities.
Please be aware that, in the future, any attempts to intentionally exploit or manipulate the Competitive Rating System or Leaderboards will result in even stricter consequences.
Fair competition is very important to us, and you can rest assured that we are closely monitoring how all features of the Catch & Compete Update perform when applied to a large number of players. As previously mentioned, we collect statistics, monitor player behavior, and fine-tune these features in order to improve them and better serve the community.
Thank you to everyone who shares our values and supports fair competition. We truly appreciate your feedback along the way.

Hey Anglers,
The Live Bait Fiesta Cup returns, taking you across South America in a challenge to catch large exotic fish on live bait.
Use match tackle in the Qualifiers and bottom tackle in the Semifinal and Final, with specific live bait allowed. Boats can be used for movement, but only fish caught from the shore count.
Only your 10 largest fish count, and the winner is determined by their total weight.
A small reminder about a few changes that affect the weather and in-game timing in the First Qualifier and the Final.
First Qualifier – Maku-Maku Lake:
Weather: Rain
Time: 13:00 - 21:00
Final – Amazonian Maze:
Weather: Heavy Clouds
Time: 8:00 - 16:00
Be aware that the weather indicated above is the weather prevailing during the day, but if it says “Rain” it doesn’t mean it necessarily will rain for 10 hours in a row, there can be slight differences during the day, just like in real life and in previous Tournaments.
Registration opens on May 11th, and the first qualifier begins on May 12th. Check all the details and register in the Sports tab in-game.
If your level is below the required level to access the tournament locations, you will receive temporary access to all waterways after registering for the duration of the event, so it’s a great chance to explore new locations in the game!
Do not miss an opportunity to get everything you need in the Live Bait Fiesta Pack!

Hey Anglers,
Fishing Planet’sCatch & Compete Update is now live, bringing a fresh wave of improvements to your every day fishing experience!
Dive in and try out a more transparent and comprehensive Competitive Rating and Matchmaking System, brand-new Rewarding Leaderboards, long-awaited Daily Missions and Colored Buoys that add a new layer of activity to your time on the water.
Let’s take a closer look at what’s new in Fishing Planet!
Daily Missions
Daily Missions are time-limited tasks that refresh every day, giving players a great opportunity to earn additional XP, Baitcoins and Club Tokens on a daily basis! They become available to all players from level 10. Each day, you can get up to three missions with assignments based on your level and recent activity. Missions are split into Daily Catch, available to all players, Club Catch for those in a club, and Premium Catch for players with an active Premium account.
Long-awaited Colored Buoys
Colored Buoys are finally here, making it easier than ever to keep your favorite fishing spots organized. Choose from eight vibrant colors and set them up your way—mark Uniques, Trophies, Competition catches, and regular fishing spots with different colors so you can tell them apart at a glance. Organize everything in whatever way works best for you.
On your tablet, you can quickly switch colors through the buoy menu and use color filters to show only what you need. You can also filter buoys by color right on your tablet, so it’s easy to focus only on the spots you need at the moment. And if you want to clear things up, you can hide all markers and get a clean view of the water.
This feature will be completely free on Lone Star Lake, Texas and Lesni Villa, The Czech Republic, so you can try different ways of organizing your buoys and figure out what works best for you before heading to other locations. All players also have a few free color changes available, so you can experiment without spending anything and get comfortable with the system at your own pace. For Premium players, changing Marker Buoy colors will remain free on every waterway in the game. Enjoy!
An increased Marker Buoy limit
With this update, we’re also increasing the Marker Buoy limit from 2000 to 2500. We know some players were really looking forward to it!
We’re introducing a new Competitive Rating System to make competitions more transparent. The number of Rating Points you earn depends on your final placement, and you can always check exactly how many points each position gives in the Competition Details under the Rewards tab. If you already have a Competitive Rating, it stays with you, so you’ll simply continue from where you left off before this Update.
On top of that, Competitions now match you with players of a similar Competitive Rating. You’ll compete within your own group, with a separate results board, making it easier to track your progress and fight for top spots.
Please note that Matchmaking works best when enough players register for a competition. If participation is too low, the system cannot divide anglers into balanced groups, which means experienced players may still end up competing against newcomers. To create fair matchups, the system needs to know in advance how many participants will actually take part in each competition. That is why registering for a competition without participating will result in a rating penalty.
There are a few exceptions, however. You will not be penalized if you withdraw before the competition starts, or if you catch at least one qualifying fish and then leave before the competition ends.
Invite your friends to join, the more participants there are, the better the chances for everyone to be matched with anglers of a similar rating.
If you want to get a better idea of how Competitive Rating works and how Matchmaking now groups you with players closer to your skill level, check out the DevDiary: Competitive Rating and Matchmaking
New Rewarding Leaderboards
Leaderboards are finally rewarding! With this update, we are introducing three main Leaderboards: Global, Competition, and Fish, each with its own filters and views. You can track your progress by week, month, or year, sort by XP, fish types like Young, Common, Trophy, or Unique, locations and see top players by catches or XP gained. Altogether, this creates 1000+ leaderboard combinations, so you can play smart and aim for the amazing rewards like X-Series items, Premium Account, Club Tokens, Baitcoins, Credits, brand-new exclusive items, and more!
Keep in mind that Competition Leaderboards offer the highest rewards of them all, giving you and your friends even more reason to jump into Competitions if you haven’t tried them yet.
After May 1 the previous Leaderboards will disappear, but don’t worry about your records - they all are stored in your profile, so you will always have access to the information about the biggest fish you caught.
We’ve refined fish weight distribution to make catches more consistent across the Leaderboards. Please note that all adjustments are calibrated in kilograms, so any issues you may notice in pounds could be caused by rounding during the conversion from kilograms. If you spot any inaccuracies of this kind, you’re always welcome to contact Support.
Some players noticed before that previous changes to the weight distribution algorithm also affected how Groundbait Mixes performed, especially for species like Carp. We’re happy to share that this has now been reworked, and with the updated algorithm, the so-called and known among players “carp oversizing” is back.
Get your best recipes ready and enjoy!

Final - Amazonian Maze
Weather: Heavy Clouds (previously Rain)
