Hey everyone! We've been working on massive gameplay changes to Chipmatic, and you can try them out right now in the demo. Here's what you can expect:
NEW GROUND TIER SYSTEM
The underground is now divided by Tiers. You won't be able to mine to the next tier until you upgrade your drill, encouraging more horizontal exploration. Each tier has its own ore generation, so progressing down will reward you with new ores, more of the old ones, and also...
BLUEPRINTS
In every tier, the first chest you open (and sometimes the second) will reward you with a blueprint. These are required to build new buildings, generator types, etc.
LABORATORY
The laboratory is now available to construct in the demo. We included a few cool nodes so you can see where we're going with this, but expect way, WAY more in the full game.
LORE
If you were wondering what's up with this cute robot mining underground, this new update will help. There's 4 notes available in the demo that will tell you a bit about what's going on, and where humans may have gone.
CAT
There's a cat on the surface. Yes, you can pet her. No, we won't elaborate.
