Developing a game completely on my own over the span of a year, while balancing a day job and real life, is a true marathon of passion. When you spend so much time working on a project, it's easy to overlook small details because you're overly focused on the fine points. However, thanks to early playtests, the demo, and your feedback, I have gathered essential insights to make the gaming experience as good as possible.
I want to share with you the most significant updates and improvements I have made to The Solyani's Code:
Enhanced Navigation & Quest Guidance: The map now clearly tracks main quest objectives, smoothly guiding the player without taking away the joy of exploring side quests. Feeling lost won't be an issue anymore!
Optimized Controller Mapping: I have updated the default controller configuration from the Switch-style layout to the standard Xbox scheme, significantly improving overall Quality of Life with a gamepad in hand.
Refined Combat System: The combat system requires a more tactical and deliberate approach compared to classic, fast-paced hack-and-slash games. I have refined the mechanics to reward strategy and player choices during encounters.
Updated Animations: Main character Elara's animations have been improved to give her a prouder, more natural, and compelling posture during movement and combat.
Richer Environments & Atmosphere: I have further enriched the environments with visual details, which, combined with the original soundtrack, offer a unique and immersive atmosphere throughout the entire adventure.
Featuring over 15–20 hours of diverse gameplay, The Solyani's Code represents the result of intense solo hard work and dedication. Every resolved issue and every comment you leave are essential steps in my ongoing growth as a developer.
