MAC Version
A Larger part to this update was that we made some effort to solve the "Mac version". This weekend we have been playing on our macs, but we also isolated why previously Amazing Frog? had not been working on Mac. One of the reasons was that the save files were not being recognized on a mac. Unfortunately, moving forward, it is highly likely that previous save files cannot be read on mac.
From now on mac saves will be cloud synced, but they will not be compatible with pc or steam deck save files, but also any previous saves you will have had will not be effected by the update. If in the future we can find a way to resurect old mac saves we will. But for now we were happy to just get it running on MAC.
-We are moving on to the Next Update, where the only apples we will need to think about are the ones you can feed to your Pig mount.

We get a lot of requests for activities or content from previous versions. Sometimes we had always intended to recreate them, but we just had not got around to it as we had been so focused on creating new things. This one of our favourites that we used to have back on OUYA.

We have also made our fair share of bugs as we have been progressing.
I think this stretchy little number arose when I allowed NPC frogs to pick each other up, which is part of a mechanic i have bear-ly had time for recent, but was happy to make some progress. Yes this update was about Ice cream and Volcano activity, but it was a great opportunity to work on the intelligence of the frogs (and other creatures) You may find that they are more responsive, certainly should be a lot easier to fill a car when beeping or try throwing some cash at some business frogs to see how greedy they are feeling.
Also some other fixes and changes which we hope are improvements which we will keep our eye on.

but tbh, we are just happy to be here.
This 'labor of Love' thing is a good opportunity to take a breath and consider what we have achieved recently.
So lets look at 2025
Its hard to believe that we only manged to bring the remastered magical mystery toilet back this time last year and the bank of Swindon has only been active just over a year.
In 2025 we have done quiite a lot. I don't like blowing our own trump-et .. achem... but this year has definitely been our most productive to date on Steam (and else where)

Its no secret that we have been fixing up Amazing Frog? as we approach "Law and Order" We want to leave Early Access and continue updating. The version we leave Early Access with will also be the console version, so we have been resolving a lots of little issues. Thanks to every one who continue to submit bugs and issues on discord or here. (i do read them!)
So about those upgrades and fixes...
Costumes and Accessories
Some accessories were not in your wardrobe. It can be difficult for us to notice which accessories are missing since we have everything from legacy. So if you dont see the tutu or space helmet in the wardrobe, just go jump in the brown toilet again. If you see an alert that appears when you get in a brown toilet then it has likely unlocked some seperate accessories.
If you see any other costumes that are not making their accessories available in Wardrobe, Or we are missing some any of your favourite legacy costumes ...let us know!
( Also the tutu now has a 'boing' spring to it, very subtle )
Underwater upgrades
Gaz, again with the water? Well we are in Unity they don't make it easy. Trust us on this one though. We have had something in mind for above and below water that we have been working towards. Water rendering has been bugging me for years. We are finally happy with this new system and how it works on split screen. At least I can say we are locking in this water system as the "1.0" water, so it won't take any more of our dev time.
File Selection?
If you are reading this bit - thank you and hello! This is generally the most "dev" section of the post. So...file selection... kinda boring, but sooooo useful :)
I have been avoiding this for a while now as I know how precious players are about their save files. High risk development means more careful attention and more time (and more dev anxiety). Its a big step and important especially when it comes to resolving all available costumes and testing from our end.
We needed multiple game files and we can buiold on this as we move forwad. We are convinced that this can lead to some exciting gameplay and content opportunities.
So heres how it works. It will take your save file and duplicate it into "FIle 1". THERE IS NO CODE IN THIS UPDATE THAT CAN DELETE YOUR SAVE FILE
Start File 2 and 3 it will be from scratch - adding a delete function later and more possibilities will evolve here. Hal and I have a lot of plans but feel free to tell us what you would like to see "Extra Modes".
OK , we are gonna throw a whole bunch O' updates at you over the coming weeks. Ee have a lot of things to announce and some cool stuff lined that we need to finish.
If only one of the consoles had some sort of "Game Preview" program which works a little like Early Access... That would mean we could launch Amazing Frog? on that console even in this Month!

As we approach the next Major update for Amazing Frog? I thought It would be a good time to share a status update of what we have been developing in Swindonshire. We have been working on some big additions.
Often in game development some steps, that seem very small, can end up taking quite a long to implement. On the positive side when these step are done well, larger subsequent steps can begin to happen very quickly.
New Water?
We have been upgrading the Water System, making it feel more atmospheric. Which has enabled us to add many things we have been wanting to implement for some time. Things like splash effects, impact ripples and more fluid surface movement for boats and creatures.
The new Water has also helped up to create more synergy in the world's style throughout Swindonshire.
Also things like shore waves (...and some new boats)
What is Delivery?
The next upcoming 'Job' is Taxi Driver. We needed to get this system right to empower us to create the other "delivery systems" that we have also been working on. I imagine you can guess what those other delivery systems maybe just from walking around the world. Hopefully, there will be still be some surprises in there.
While driving a Taxi, after you have found a citizen requesting a ride...
...you will be able to earn Frog Pounds and unlock costumes depending on a speedy (and successful ) journey
How does it lead to Law and Order?
This category of task we call "Delivery" is now more dependant on more advances in NPC management and behaviours
NPCS taking up seats and positions and even collecting or using items from the floor, but ultimately having a more determined sense of what they want do and where they need to be.
This library that drives the behaviour is very much the basis of how we will bring 'Law and Order' to Swindon, but before we reach that goal there are still a few more steps.

First, we got wrapped up in another major bug - what happens when you eject from the jets or indeed what happens when you crash a jet... ( If you had not noticed it ... it was a bad one )
However, its not just jets that should be able to take to the skies!
Indeed, Pigs will fly!
Since one of the major parts of the Jam Maker update was the Saddle Launcher (If your Jam Maker was working) The saddle logic itself needed some care and attention.
Especially when it comes to using Jet Packs either in saddles or indeed on some bikes.
We still think we need to spend some more time on this part of the control system, but we also think we moved it a big step forward in this patch.
There were other issues that we solved and there are some that we are aware we haven't solved yet. We want to say thanks for all the feedback (and awesome artwork), we try and keep up with everything posted, it's all really very helpful and is going to lead us to leaving Early Access soon.
Buuuut, The saddle logic is actually really dangerous!
I will say though, we had a lot of fun shooting each other with the Saddle Launcher. Even as i write this i am aware that there is a bug where you can continally get Saddle Launchers from the dispencer... gulp.
The saddle logic did send us a down a bit of a rabbit hole, especially when thinking about how to control a shark... we ended up following a path that had not expected to engage with so soon . Luckily it will yield a new update pretty quickly.

More Persistence with Collectables
This is a feature upgrade. Have you ever been familiar with scenes like this
You have just been on a kill Rampage and there is just so much stuff to collect, but if you walk too far away it will all be gone?
Not any more... (Heres the boring Game dev bit) Lots of physics objects = bad for runtime especially when they are left just hanging around. So Gaz decided that cleaning them up after you went away would be a "normal" thing to do. but what if you need to go back to the hideout to get the vacuum or you got killed whill fighting a load of zombies? Since the objects are becoming increasigly valuable when we found a way to make them persist in the session. They won't stay if you refresh Swindon (ie go to moon or sewer) but the objects should stick around and wait for you to collect them.
Time To Mount UP !
Unlock the saddle Launcher (with jam Jars) you should be able to shoot any living thing with it to add a saddle and ride it...
When you mount up, it might be easier tovisit places you could not get to before.
But be careful.
Team up in the Sewer.
We've put some chainsaws in the sewer and a vacuum to make collecting things of the dead in teh sewer more productive.
Cos Zombies carry loot too.
We don't know what the fastest way to gather "stuff" is yet, what are you doing?
First Pathogen Dart Gun
We won't tell you how to get it, but like the saddle launcher the gun will appear in the hideout when unlocked.

Yeah... there has been Fixes
There have been fixes and there are a few new outfits and unlockables and more Magic! I won't go into detail. One notable fix is to make the treads on the tanks more deadly and the tank shot explosions too.
As we move towards Law and Order and "1.0" (which is very close now) we are also refining some of the core components. Jam jars, saddles and pathogen darts all work with various aspects of the evolving tech that drives frog life in Swindonshire.
Unity 6
This was also another major step for us since we have moved the project to Unity 6 - this allows us to future proof the game and unity 6 is very much becoming a requirment for us roll out the console version when we hit 1.0 with Law and order.
Also we should be "delivering" a new update very soon.

Well, Its been 2 months since the bin day update. We didnt want it to be so long, but there was a lot of "groundwork" to do. Now, we will start another run of updates which will add more magic, more places to spend you hard earned... um "things"... jobs, death, coffee, LAW, aliens, loads of costumes and much more and not nescessarily in that ORDER!

On BIN DAY throughout Swindonshire, the residents and businesses will throw out their trash. You can earn money as well as Swindon Citizen Points (SCP) throwing the trash into the 'Waste Away' Rubbish truck.
Due to the back log from the holiday season its going to be "BIN DAY" for the rest of January and then every Thursday is BIN DAY in Swindonshire ! So get out there on thursdays and earn big £££'s in your brand new job!
We have more jobs brewing in Swindon, you can maybe guess whats some will be...
And of course there is more magic!
Just be careful what you put in the magic Toilet.
Rubbish should be disposed of appropriatly, if not it could have disastrous effects and make me very grouchy.
There is a few new hidden shops/costumes too... ) But Remember after January Bin Bags will only be put out on Thursdays!

As always, we have been trying to improve the core systems. The main one we focused on this time was "throwing physical objects" (we needed it to work better in particular for bin bags), but throwing frogs also will see improvents in coming updates. There are many systems we know need some love and attention, eg falling over with grapple hook - there are work arounds, but it simply needs some of my time. I should explain, many issues arise without us knowing. Its important to us that we always keep Amazing Frog? updated with the latest version of Unity. We don't want the system driving the game to become obselete like many did in legacy. Unfortunately with so many systems in Amazing Frog? things change beyond our control frequently and its hard to always keep track. We are so grateful when the community (on what ever platform) reaches out to let us know about issues. I do try to respond to all, but often I think my best response is to keep my head in development and fix and improve as many features as possible. Also, your screenshots over the holidays make us extremely happy I will have to do a post with a collection of awesome screen shots

SPREADING HOLIDAY CHEER
Also, since it's the Holiday Update so we've run a pass on the Holiday Cheer activity, fixed some of the issues. You can now spread the Holiday cheer to creatures other than just frogs!
Wait... does that mean I can't exploit the bug where I use the Holiday gun to add saddles to sharks and alligators?
SADDLE UP
The "bug" may be fixed, but you can still find a way to ride some creatures if they can fit in the toilet. (But also, get Collecting those berries... as soon we will be jamming in new content which will provide an new agricultural way tosaddle up!
A new vehicle?
Not exactly, yes the clowns from the 10 year party have gone but don't worry they will not be gone long. We are going to need the clowns in the Law and Order update.

Stand by for our late party for spending 10 glorious years in Steam Early Access,
From now on mac saves will be cloud synced, but they will not be compatible with pc or steam deck save files, but also any previous saves you will have had will not be effected by the update. If in the future we can find a way to resurect old mac saves we will. But for now we were happy to just get it running on MAC. 
You got a new Job! - and you can earn cash and rewards by simply cleaning up Swindonshire from all the vermin creatures. 
Kill or catch its up to you. But you will need to learn how to use a net to catch creatures !
