This Steam edition is the product of much love, time and energy between our two studios and we believe it’s the best ever edition of PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate!
So what is PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate?
PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate is a twin-stick shooter with equal elements of action, exploration and puzzle solving.
Saving scientists and uncovering the mysteries of an ill-fated research trip requires you to study and manipulate your environment. Blast and dig through rock and ice, unleashing floods of water, lava, gas, magnetic oil and even deadly stomach acid, all powered by an advanced fluid mechanics simulation.
What’s new in PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate?
We’ve combined Shooter 1 and 2 to make a seamless story mode featuring all of the levels from the two games. We’ve also changed up the Graphics and UI of both games, we’ve completely overhauled them to create the new ‘Ultimate’ art style. Among a host of changes and improvements that make, what we believe, this to be the best edition of the game ever for Steam.
The new features include:
- Shooter 1 and 2 combined featuring all of the levels from the two games.
- The Graphics and UI overhauled to create the new ‘Ultimate’ art style.
- The scoring, combo and rewards systems have been improved.
- We added a host of new features to make it easier for players to 100% complete the game – including a treasure tracker so players know how many treasures are in each area and progress indicators on each level so players always know what they missed.
- You can switch between the new ‘Ultimate’ art style and the ‘Classic’ art style at any time.
- Keyboard & Mouse support with full Key Rebinding available.
- Steam Achievements, Leaderboards and Trading Cards.
- Rebalanced Online Battle mode which makes it much quicker to progress through the ranks and unlock new items.
- A new Photo Mode which allows players to instantly pause the game and remove the HUD for beautiful screenshots.
I have PixelJunk Shooter 1, can I use my save data in PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate?
Yes, you can carry your save file from PixelJunk Shooter into Shooter Ultimate, when you first boot up Shooter Ultimate it’ll ask if you want to do this. Meaning those with Save Data can jump straight into the PixelJunk Shooter 2 levels.

Discounts?
As a reward for fans of the series, all owners of PixelJunk Shooter will receive a 20% off discount, all owners of any PixelJunk Series title will receive an additional 5% off per game. This will also include the already 10% off launch sale price for an up to max of 45% off PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate. The discounts will automatically be applied through Steam, as well as select other retailers and they will expire November 3rd.
