Book 2 of Mission Mania is here!
Prepare yourself for some varied challenges against the clock, featuring missions in the worlds of ROM2064, Burrito Bison, Knightmare Tower, Clive'N'Wrench, Mutant Mudds, Teslagrad, and Mission In Snowdriftland!
To complete all 9 missions, and unlock a new kart for your kart select menu, you'll need to Smash the snow-penguins, destroy all robots, collect the watchies, find all batteries, splat all the mudds, and whack all the piñatas!
This update also features a truckload of bug fixes, including but not limited to:
added Mission Mania Book 2, featuring 9 new missions, and a new unlockable kart character!
added 4 kickstarter founder`s reward kart characters: Hancock, CJ, Miss Lucy, and Loopsy
added MissionSelector at the end of the mission so you dont have to go back to the main menu to choose your next mission
added a bouncy animation to the SUPER and DRIFT gates to help them stand out more at a distance
added a graphic popup near kart when going through a gate, showing the letter of the gate
added a GOAL sign above the final gate
added some No Entry signs in Canabalt mission to help avoid going the wrong way at the start of the crane shortcut
added 'Unlocked New Character' message at end of mission 9
added some colour edging to the Book buttons so you can see their completion status (Green if you've finished each mission, Gold if you've aced them all)
fixes to the ghost kart icon on the map in hologram race so they behave as expected
fixed projectile weapons like Meloons and Tomms sometimes clipping through walls instead of bouncing off them
SIKBeach - removed 2 pier supports in the water so there's less obstacles after the Clive'N'Wrench truck top ramp
fixed bug where kart selector would sometimes move 2 spaces when using D-pad or Keyboard
fixed bug in mission mania where you could race around a track finishing laps instead of doing the mission objective, which would lead to a softlock
There'll likely be a minor hotfix coming in the first week of the new year, based on early feedback, and until then Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!

fixed podium menu on SplitscreenGP
squashed a bug that stopped the track screenshot slideshow in the Splitscreen Cup Select menu

This update exists mostly to address a bug where unknown (to the game) controllers would cause the game to display white squares instead of the GUI button prompt icon graphics in the menu. But it also adds a few other improvements to the Controller Calibration sliders, with finer tuning control, so calibrating steering wheels is a much better experience.
Feb 2025 v0.862 changes:
Camera issues:
fixed camera not always keeping kart onscreen in Super style races
Controller issues:
added generic button icons for unknown controllers, to stop the bug where the icons were just white squares.
these are UI1, UI2, UI3, and UI4. They're the icons you see when navigating the user interface on menus. If you're using an unknown (to the game) controller, then they'll be whatever you set in the Control Mapper for the UI Butt 1, UI Butt 2, UI Butt 3, and UI Butt 4 Actions respectively.
added visualisation of the numerical values of the three sliders in the Calibrate Controller window, axis DeadZone/ZeroPoint/Sensitivity, making it much clearer what the slider's value is.
added finer tuning of the DeadZone slider when calibrating a controller's axis, previously, when moving the slider with a keyboard or joypad, it jumped in increments of 10% - now it's 1% increments. This comes in handy for steering wheels in particular, where the previous smallest value of 10% was way too much and just felt wrong, and 0% had the kart veering off to the side when the wheel was centered. For example, my Thrustmaster wheel here feels good at 7%, but too loose at 9% and unsteady at 5%.
also added that finer tuning to the Sensitivity and Zero sliders when using Joypad/keyboard
re-added Steering DeadZone and Steering Sensitivity to the in-race Controller Settings menu, fiddling there to fine tune while racing gives a much better user experience.
Other changes:
added a "loading.." icon during level transitions
As always, if some new change breaks the game on your setup, please let me know in the Discussions or on Discord, and consider stepping back to the Previous beta build while a fix is worked on.
Clive'n'Wrench added 2 new time zones to The Road Between Time with a fork in the road to the end of Track To The Future, giving a much better ending to each lap. Drive left for Gold Boostpads, or drive right for some extra Powerup Jars, you choose what's best for your lap! fixed

added 2 new time zones to The Road Between Time with a fork in the road to the end of Track To The Future, giving a much better ending to each lap. Drive left for Gold Boostpads, or drive right for some extra Powerup Jars, you choose what's best for your lap!
fixed a crack in the slot car road
removed collider from the small VHS tape at the start of The Road Between Time section
Nitromeland
added ability for fired weapons to also travel through portal doors to the other side, rather than them being lost to the transporter (also applies to other tracks with portals)
fixed kart sometimes spinning in the air briefly when exiting a portal if you entered the portal on an unconventional angle
Super Indie Beach
fixed splitscreen CPU karts being stuck in the air glitch
added an extra path for the CPU karts to take at Seagull's Snak Shak
added more arrow signs for oft missed bends and 100cc Gold Shroom
added higher invisible walls to mudpit area as some players found themselves accidentally jumping the red fence
Snowdriftland
added a ramp to the front of the lava pool in the lava tube area, but it's still better to ride the wall!
added up arrow texture to the iceberg ramps at the end of the lap
RunbowRoad
added an instructional hint at the start to help get the ball rolling for those unfamiliar with the Runbow mechanic. "Watch the sky, dodge the traps!"
Canabalt64
fixed dirt particle system being sandy coloured
Other fixes
fixed mode7 Super tracks camera being too close to kart when it spins around you at race end
fixed Podium scene information pages being changeable with Left and Right before the information page had even came on-screen
fixed L2 and R2 still being WeaponUse and HopDrift after setting them to be something else (like Accelerate and Brake), by adding HopDrift2 and WeaponUse2 actions
Steam Deck
fixed unconnected keyboard pushing the joypad controls of the Steam Deck to P2
Beeta Blocka weapon
added an animation of the beetroot being dropped
added drop sound, and a hum sound to the shield
From here, assuming v0.861 doesn't introduce some new bug requiring a v0.862 release, the next major items on my goal list for the next major update are to create the next Advanced Cup and a new book of missions for Mission Mania. I'll let you know what will be the featured crossovers, in a few short months, with a trailer drop or something.
Welcome to the Sapphire Cup! A new cup in the Ultra cups category. Opening with Super Indie Beach , featuring a large outdoor area with an underwater section, this is one of the most detailed tracks yet. Make sure to wear sunscreen! After racing through the Mission In Snowdriftla

Opening with Super Indie Beach, featuring a large outdoor area with an underwater section, this is one of the most detailed tracks yet. Make sure to wear sunscreen! After racing through the Mission In Snowdriftland track again, you'll take a race in the bedroom from Clive'N'Wrench along slot-car roads and out through space. Lastly, end the cup in Nitromeland, an amazing track featuring a whole bunch of games from the back catalogue of some absolutely classic Nitrome Games, presented as a theme-park style track!
December 2024 changes
new Ultra Cup, featuring Mission In Snowdriftland, Clive'n'Wrench, Nitromeland, and Super Indie Beach!
added 2 new karts, Clive'n'Wrench`s Double Dashing kart and Super Leap Day`s YOLK!
added new weapon 'Beeta Blocka' - stops any karts which drive near him for the rest of the race
added DRIFT hint message to the DriftGates in MissionMania
added 2 more resolutions for triple monitor setups: 3840*720 and 7680*1440
added a MULTI-TOMM!! message to the HUD so it`s clearer you can fire more than one Tomm
added 2nd gold material to the A*** trophies in Trophy Room to give a nicer look
added a hint sticker to help find the hidden 150cc Goldshroom in SIK Advanced Indoor Circuit
added a drain of the water area in SIK Advanced Indoor Circuit on the final lap to reveal the hidden ramp shortcut
added some water pool traps in the tunnel section of SIK Advanced Indoor Circuit
cleaned up the ramp textures and added some warning trim around the base
moved Race Jewel material to a single instance shared material so its sprite animation only needs to be calculated once
fixed karts driftboosting in slightly wonky direction in splitscreen bug
fixed podium karts in ceremony scene not facing the camera
fixed CPU karts sometimes being hit by their own fresh Tomms and Meloons as they launch them
fixed CPU karts not spinning around when they take a hit bug
fixed race intro animation being broken looking on triple monitor setup
fixed kart rotating 90 degrees after race ends when lifting off the ground
ReWired the controller system which adds much more support for controllers and wheels, and has a calibration screen to potentially add any controller which isn't supported! (this should also remove the strange intermittent button reading people were experiencing with newer controllers)
further reduced elastic rubber-banding on CPU karts

Clive ‘N’ Wrench is a 3D platformer centered around Clive the rabbit and Wrench, the monkey on his back. Your adventure will take you through time and space in a magical 1950’s fridge all on a quest to undo Clive’s cousin Nancy’s mistake and ultimately thwart the tyrannical Dr Daucus.
Inspired by genre classics like Spyro the Dragon and Jak & Daxter, Clive ‘N’ Wrench has its titular rabbit and monkey duo jump, roll, hover, and spin their way through a whole host of wacky worlds.

An area of the game that needed updating for a while was in the kart sprites that had been created near the beginning of development. There are a few that have fallen behind since the quality of newer kart spritesheets improved. This update tackles some of them. Both Clu and Bart from Aegis Defenders have been brought right up to date, and 2 new karts have been added: Dream Fiend (the legend responsible for the cool synth tunes you hear throughout the game), and Shady (a Kickstarter backer's "Founder's Kart").
added Dream Fiend, the legend that created most of the sweet synth music you hear in the game, as a playable character
added Shady Gorilla, another "Founder's Kart" (a kickstarter reward where backers could design their own character kart)
cleaned up Clu and Bart's kart spritesheets
split the character select grid into 2 pages to make it easier to read and nicer looking
added the CPU shortcut taking ability to the Ultra and Super tracks that have those spaces in them
added a flashy "FinalLap" scrolling indicator to the HUD to reduce confusion where players mistakenly think they're on the last lap when they aren't
removed the icky camspin cheat from the cheats menu
fixed a bug that sometimes caused the CPU kart in 1st place to ride off into the sunset if you were in 8th
fixed a bug in the SIK Indoor Circuit track that saw loconuts flying through one of the outer walls
fixed another scenario that could lead to music not playing, or playing quietly on the final lap
fixed a problem where you could boundarybreak the Moscow track
fixed the broken DangerCam size bug on a Triple Monitor setup
