And so, the challenge is issued.
The first official, Raptisoft Nova sponsored building competition begins today!
Builders, architects, and ambitious sand sculptors are invited to make their mark upon the dunes. Build whatever your imagination commands- as long as it's sand themed, of course.
Rules and details are posted in the realm "Sand Castle Contest 2026 Lobby" near the entrance to the castle. Additional questions are below.
Have fun!
Q: What are the rules?All players that want to enter must rent a plot space in one of the rooms.
Q: How much does it cost?
100 cubits, which will be refunded at the end of the contest.
Q: Can I rent more than one plot?
No, it is strictly one plot per player, anyone found using alt accounts to enter more times will be disqualified.
Q: What is the theme?
The theme is sandcastles! Your build must include the new sandcastle blocks added in this update.
Q: How will you know whose plot is whose?
All players must place a sign on the plot by the bumper with their username on it.
Q: What are the prizes?
1st place 500k cubits, 2nd place 300k, 3rd place 150k, 4th place 75k, 5th place 50k.
Q: When is the deadline?
The deadline is the 19th September.
Q: What happens then?
The builds will be judged by the developers and mods, the realm will be archived and then unlocked for everyone to get their blocks back when the results release
Q: What if I don't like Building?
There are plenty of other fun things to do, why not go fishing, or play volleyball? You could also just hang out!

It's the end of summer, at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere! With the closing out of this season comes a content update from Raptisoft Nova.
A crafty individual has travelled around and placed a whole assortment of sand castle pieces inbetween the grains of sand in the tropical mines! There are nine new pieces in total, some of which are a mixture of wet and dry sands. Find them by breaking the sand blocks!
But what to do with these bits and bobs you've piled high? A building competition is coming soon featuring these new blocks, so start dreaming up your grandest castles, fortresses, towers, and sandy strongholds. More details on the competition will be coming soon!
Until then, happy hunting, happy building, and enjoy the last days of summer!
Thank you all for sticking with us through this transition period. This is only the start of a new saga for Cubic Castles!

- All builds must have a warp food bumper with the food left at the official realm for the event
- Rooms will also be accepted as long as they meet the above two rules and are easily findable for other people to enjoy!
- Players may submit a build for only one category (not the same build across multiple categories) and can not submit multiple builds for the same category ( however you may submit one build for each category!)
- Judges reserve rights to remove categories if no suitable or not enough builds are submitted (these might get folded into a different category at judges discretion)
- Players will not win a prize for being the only build to enter if the build is not of suitable quality for aprize

We understand that by providing more customization we open ourselves up to people spamming the game with things that are not family friendly. Do not do this. If we catch you, your accounts will be permanently banned. What kind of content should not be on custom textures?adult content

Basically anything that's not kid friendly or aimed at general audiences. This does leave some gray area but I think most people can understand what falls under that umbrella.How to create a set of custom textures
To create a custom texture you need 2 items (from cubit store)easle block (used for painting textures)
master canvas (use with easle block)
Place the master canvas in the easle and use the paint tool to create your textures You can give the canvas a name. A master canvas can have up to 16 custom textures. A single realm can only display 1 set of custom textures at a time.NOTE - When using a master canvas ONLY YOU can see the result on the custom blocks in the realm. You can't use a master canvas to share your textures.
How to share your custom textures with other players visiting your realm
To share a custom texture set you need...a copier block (cubit store)
copy paper (cubit store)
A texture projector block (cubit store)
custom blocks 1 to 16 to build with - these can be crafted - see recipes page
Place the master canvas in the copier and it will ask you if you want to submit it for approval.WARNING - Once a master canvas is submitted you can NO LONGER EDIT IT!
Once your canvas is approved you can put it in the copier along with copy paper, and make copies. The copies can be placed in a texture projector block and your textures will show up on the custom blocks in your realm. (or whoever's realm used the copy - if you gave one away or sold one)
Note that copies can also be sold to other players so they can also use your texture set.

a few notes from last year:
Over the course of the submission a lot of people were caught building, I want to reiterate that this is supposed to be a celebration of good builds from the previous year. Building in 2021 is considered cheating and everyone who was caught doing so was instantly disqualified. This shouldn't be something we have to point out, it is common sense. If people can't be trusted for fun celebrations like this then we will just stop doing them.
Also we still saw people try to sneak seasonal builds in this year, they again are instantly disqualified, you can't enter a competition build for another competition, and we aren't stupid we do notice.
Also adding something to a build to get it in a category is not going to fly either ( looking at you scenic builds with clanstones with a clan that does not really exist)
Anyone who removed the warp food before we could finalize judging has also lost any chance of being able to win. So don't move them until the results are up!
Finally at the judges discretion some of the categories could be removed or rolled into other categories, this is either due to not enough entries or the quality of the entries not deserving the win. We have stated previously that just because you might be the only submission does not mean you will win. This also goes for the same with categories we have not awarded all 5 positions to as we felt in some instances there were not 5 deciding winners.- All builds must have an info bumper showing a 2021 date
- All builds must have a warp bumper with the food left in the official realm for the event!
- No more than ONE submission per category (if you do we will only judge the first we come across)
- No building during 2022 on your submissionPrizes

And can be redeemed from cubic santa at the end of the event after new years.So how do you get these ornaments? Well that's a mystery. We will give one clue. There's an official Christmas overworld. Through there you can find the way.
One note about the event. If the winning side's ornaments are worth more that means they will get more pets BUT.. REMEMBER.. you must ALSO consider that it means the losing side's pet will be rarer! and thus possibly worth more in the future. Something to consider for your strategy collecting ornaments.
