Over 1,000 testers logged in and tried the game during our playtest week, and we're thrilled with how players received it and the fun they had. We've been working nonstop, and we're excited to announce that we're ready to launch on October 21st—just 10 days away! So get ready, load up your shotgun and movement sensors, and join us for the hunt. Now, let's dive into the playtest results.

Playtest Feedback

We're delighted that most players enjoyed the simple yet engaging hide-and-seek gameplay. We also received numerous ideas to add more variety in actions and game modes. We'll introduce some of these as customizable settings for sessions, while others will be implemented as separate modes after launch. The playtest also helped us uncover many bugs that our internal testing missed, making it a resounding success. We've already fixed all the issues found during the playtest.

We've added several quality-of-life features you requested, including lobby-ready indicators, player muting options, in-game server setting adjustments, voting for the next map, and more interesting ways to score and become the best hider in your lobby.

We've also improved the process of finding games when there are no active lobbies or games currently running.

Content on Release

Our original concept was simple, and we wanted to maintain that essence. We've mainly focused on adding more survivor and hunter characters for you to play as, along with more maps. The game will launch with four maps, each offering substantial replayability and unique settings. We're confident you'll enjoy many sessions with your friends, and we're excited to hear about your favorites when the game launches!

We will be introducing more characters and maps in future updates, alongside new modes and hunters. Our commitment to expanding the game doesn't end at launch – we have exciting plans to keep the content fresh and engaging for our players.

Map Showcase: Cemetery

Those of you who participated in the playtest have already experienced this map, but we wanted to share pictures with everyone to showcase what we've been working on. This map has a very different layout compared to the warehouse, featuring paths that lead to graveyards and a large church visible from all areas of the map. The church serves as a monument for orientation. Behind the church, there's a pathway to an underground crypt that could be either your best hiding spot or your final resting place.

We can't wait for you to experience the full game on October 21st. Get ready for the hunt!

This is our first devlog of a new photorealistic hide-and-seek party game. We've been working hard on adding mechanics and release content to the game and we'd like to keep you updated as often as we can. For more frequent updates on all things big and small, follow us on our Discord.

Playtests Coming Soon

We're gearing up for our first round of playtests, and we're excited to have the community join in! If you want to be part of the early gameplay experience, make sure to join our Discord Server. We'll be announcing the details there soon, and spots are limited, so don’t miss out!

Push Mechanic

We've added a new push mechanic for runners! If a runner gets up close and personal with the automaton, they can deliver a well-timed push to knock it down, giving them a few precious moments to escape. Of course, the automaton won’t stay down for long, so use it wisely! Check out the mechanic in action:

Scoring System Added

We've added a new scoring system to track your performance. Here's how it works:

Whistling in the game will reveal your location to hunters, but it's not without reward. Each whistle grants you extra points. It's a risk-reward mechanic that adds an exciting layer of strategy to the game.

Surviving a round and escaping close encounters with hunters will also earn you points. The more dangerous the situation you escape from, the more points you'll receive.

Map Showcase: Warehouse

Lastly, we’re thrilled to show off our first map: the Warehouse. This semi-open level with both outdoors and indoors hiding locations is perfect for nerve-wracking hide-and-seek chases. Filled with towering shelves, narrow corridors, and unexpected hiding spots, it's the ultimate battleground for runners trying to outwit the hunter. Of course, this is still work-in-progress and subject to change, but here's how it stands today.
