It feels surreal to finally say this: Moon Watch is now live in Early Access! 🎉

This moment wouldn’t have been possible without your support. Whether you’ve been following us since our Backpack Hero days or just discovered Moon Watch, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for believing in our little experimental game!

Creating Moon Watch has been an exciting (and sometimes nerve-wracking!) journey. Combining the chaos of bullet hells with the strategy of deckbuilding was a challenge we poured our hearts into, and we’re so excited to finally share it with you.

What’s in Early Access? 🧛

Right now, the Early Access version includes:

Three unique playable characters with specialized playstyles and decks
A variety of challenges, cards, and relics to experiment with
Our first iteration of a complete gameplay loop

But this is just the beginning!

We’re beyond excited to share the news! Moon Watch is launching in Early Access on December 4th!

Why Early Access?

We want to make the best game we can! Capturing the intensity of survivors-like action while blending it with the depth of turn-based deckbuilding takes careful balancing. Early Access gives us the chance to bring in new players, hear your thoughts, and fine-tune the game to make it even better!

Here’s What You Can Expect:

🌙 3 Playable Characters

🙏 Lucia the Nun
Your go-to starter character! She uses garlic to control space and projectiles to attack enemies. Straightforward and dependable.
🥷 Nina the Ninja
A melee queen! Nina thrives in close combat with dashes to evade enemies and powerful sword slashes. She also has a “curse” ability to weaken foes, making her a great pick for those who love risk and reward.
⚙️ Encio the Engineer
A creative powerhouse. Encio uses pinball ability to move around the level, relies on electricity and turrets as offense. Also has a “charm” ability that he can use to turn enemies against each other.

New Stuff:

Added Act 2: The Chapel
New levels, new music, new enemies, and a new boss!
Added a significant number of new levels to act 1
Added new enemies to act 1 including the Healing Siren, The Hive, and the Bee!
Added optional objectives to many levels, including deliveries, minibosses, hunt missions, and defense missions
Added new cards: Biohazard, Habit, Molasses, Rotten Garlic, Silver Bullet, Surge
New unlock for Rotten Garlic
Some cards are now "Banished" - removed for the rest of the level
New items are now added as presents
4 New "Boss" relics that are added after the first Boss fight
You can now "Reroll" your drops 3 times per game

Changes:

Bipods are slightly less powerful and multiple bipods stack their effect more slowly
Projectiles now move slightly when time is frozen (visual only)
You can now open your deck to view cards while on the map screen or at events
Added more randomization to the map screen
Level-ups occur more frequently later in the game

Bug Fixes:

Some relics will not let you duplicate them at the duplication event
Fixed the appearance of the card during the "Trade" event (which overlapped some text previously)
The "unlock" menu now tells you when you have unlocked all possible cards
Fixed the color of relics when viewing the card
Updated fonts - particularly Korean which was missing some necessary characters
Fixed an issue where all copies of a relic would disappear when one relic was removed
Fixed an issue where the screen size would prevent you from clicking links
You can still see the cost of cards in the "Add a Card" screen after playing the memory chip
