Developer posts and news about this game.
I've released version 1.1.3. All known bugs are fixed. The QA testing has been finished. I recorded a dev vlog but the audio didn't record so I had to throw it out. That is about it. There have been a number of quality of life improvements. Too many bug fixes to write about. The
I've upgraded the render pipeline to the HDRP one. I was using this early in the games development but I ran into problems with the camera windows. There would be too great of a drop in FPS while multiple cameras where open. I've solved this by updating each camera one at a time
Change of plans with my game. The CPU companies are not being included in the final game. I was planning them and may add them after full release. I plan on supporting this game long term. Due to budget problems I had to cut the scope of the game a tiny bit. Everything that was p
Version 0.9.8 is now live. The QA testing is finished up for now. Bugs have been cleared. Quality of life improvements have been made. This should be the last update for at least a month. The next update may be the full release. Expecting that some time next month. Please live a
No cigar today. I had to put the game into early access due to financial situation hitting unexpectedly. This is okay as the game is ready for early access. So this happened at the best possible time. All that is left is the AI companies and more QA testing. About half the QA tes
Version 0.9.6 just released. Many bug fixes. Report any bugs you find in the community hub. Next up is a new trailer and the final marketing campaign. Then in a few days I start work on the AI companies. After that I just finish up the translations and I set the game to release t
Ships are in the game. Many other improvements have been made. The game is 95% finished now. Release is about 2 months away I expect. Final Marketing campaign is about to start. Check out the demo. Thank you all for your support. It means a whole lot.
Dev Vlog for Epic Trains 4 version 0.9.2. Not a lot of new content. Mostly diagonal road and rail. Which was a lot of work. Such a simple thing takes so long. Next update is hopefully around the end of the month or early next month. That will include a lot of minor fixes, improve
Are the translations in the demo good? I'm planning on releasing the game in a few months. It is very nearly done at this point. Ask me questions about the game and leave feedback. The demo is ready to play.
All bugs should be fixed now. If you find any point them out in the community hub. I did another dev vlog. Another cigar.
New demo update. New locomotive in the demo. There are planes added to the full version as well. Those are not playable yet. Bug fixes and quality of life improvements. I got rather drunk in this video. I really drank too much too quickly. Oh well. At least the demo works. Lots o
Demo will be coming out in about a couple weeks. Sep 16'th. I'm taking part in a next fest. It's almost all ready. Finishing touches are going in right now. Sit and listen to me talk about game dev while I smoke a cigar. I drop it on the floor at some point.
I have limited time. I have a fair bit of work left to do. I have to get a demo ready for the next fest. That is the biggest chance my game has. This is the perfect game for that fest. "Planes, trains, and automobiles" fest. This game is the perfect match. If my game is going to
Just a little update. I'm adding steam to the steam locomotives and will soon be adding the tenders too. I haven't posted anything in quite a while so I thought I'd make a little post here. Game is going full steam ahead. Planning on release later this year. There will be a demo
Deep in the game dev as always. I uploaded a new trailer and screen shots for everyone to have a look at. If I am lucky I'll be in closed BETA next month, Feb 2024. Lots of work left to do. I'm nearing the end of it finally. I wish the trailer turned out better. I wanted to show
Progress on the game is still moving along. I have the trains, trucks, small planes and large planes in the game now. There is still more work to be done before the game goes into closed BETA. I'm hoping on having the game in closed BETA and sent off to the publisher some time in
New trailer and screen shots are up. The Epic Trains series was always inspired by the Transport Tycoon series. This is the first game that is taking it into depth. What are you looking for in this game? What features are a must? I'm going for a fully functional transport game. I
Wrote some good code last night. The drag and drop trains and wagons code in Epic Trains 4 is better coded and has more functionality then what is in OpenTTD. This is going to be a great game. What is on the store page now is very basic. The game is barely in a functional state a
