I'm happy to announce Wanted Shadows: Unchained, a standalone reimagining of 2023's Wanted Shadows. It's rebuilt from the ground up with compact arenas, a deepened progression system, and a hub world that expands the game's world.
What's New in Unchained
Dual Weapon Combat | Equip both melee and ranged weapons, so that you can have 2 main weapons at any given time. Exploit their exclusive upgrades to come up with even more powerful combos.
Compact Arenas | Levels are shorter and more compact. This means the game is more action-packed than ever, and every moment counts.
Deeper Progression | With more characters, more upgrades, more powers, and more areas, there's more to do than ever. The new achievement system that adds permanent upgrades to your progression also increases the power ceiling to unprecedented levels.
Living Hub World | Interact with characters, and learn more about the Shadows through the added hub world.

I'm happy to announce that a new game set in the universe of Wanted Shadows has been seeing huge developments recently! The game is called Synth Beasts and it's a Monster Taming Action RPG, think Pokemon with realtime combat and an open world.
I've made a video that you can find below going over them all, so make sure to watch it if you want to stay up to date, but the most important takeaway from it if you want to keep up with the development side of things as closely as possible is that we're going to be running a Kickstarter campaign for the game! This is for two main reasons:

Firstly, we want to help fund a part of the console ports so that we can make sure to simultaneously launch on all platforms.
Our second reason is that I personally love involving a game's community as much as possible, and allowing players to leave their mark. With Synth Beasts, we plan on having tons of awesome backer rewards such as making your own monsters, making your own islands, and way way more. Of course, if you just want to support us by getting the game through Kickstarter, you'll be able to get a key for any of the supported platforms!

The Winter sale just went live right now and I'm happy to announce that not only is the game discounted to a ridiculous $1.19, but I just added a HUGE update to the game that adds tons of content! Below are the patch notes:

Added a new character, Hourkoo - Attack speed is increased by 2x if health is 1. Every additional health point decreases attack speed by 30%.
Added the bonus level Bomb Factory - has all new enemies and a cool new environment.
Added the bonus level Cold Fire Plains - has all new enemies and a cool new environment.
Added 8 new enemies that appear in the bonus levels.
Added 16 new achievements for the new character and bonus levels.
Made it such that completing higher ascensions grants you the achievements for the lower ones as well, e.g. completing ascension 6 grants you the achievements for ascensions 1-6.
Fixed bug that made the high tolerance upgrade do the opposite of what it was supposed to do.
Fixed some typos.

Version 1.1.0 Patch Notes

Added a new character, Holig. Stamina depletes instantly when attacking and dashing, but has incredibly fast daze recovery and more power.
Added ascension 4 - Enemies have even more HP.
Added ascension 5 - Enemies move faster.
Added ascension 6 - Enemies move faster over time.
Added achievements for completing all of ascensions 1 through 6 on Tundra.
Added achievements for completing all of ascensions 1 through 6 on Mansion.
Added achievements for completing all of ascensions 1 through 6 on Hell.
Added achievements for beating Hell in ascension 6 for each character.
Increased the cost of all unlockables.
Fixed bug that would cause the game to crash if you obtained the Spider Shock.
Changed the color of the hammer enemy in Hell from purple to white to make it more easily visible.
Fixed bug that caused the special upgrade and level up screens to appear at the same time.
Fixed bug that caused the Hell miniboss to have no entrance animation.
Fixed bug that caused beams to self-proc crit and hence crash the game.
Fixed bug that caused music to be unhearable if there were too many sound effects playing.
Fixed bug that caused fast-acting hitboxes to not register as hits on enemies.
Toned down sound effects on melee attacks.
Fixed some upgrade typos.

Thank you all so much with the warm reception with the release! I've made a little patch to fix some issues, you can find the patch notes below.
Version 1.0.3 Patch Notes

Some players reported crashing on obtaining a certain combination of shock upgrades. While I was unable to replicate the crash, I believe that I found the cause of the issue and have made a change that hopefully fixes it. If it still happens to you, please send a detailed recount of how your run went so that I can try to replicate and fix the issue!
When the game crashed, you would lose the save progress from your current session. This no longer happens as the game saves more often.
I'll be making more updates very soon, but this is it for version 1.0.3! If you're enjoying the game, I'd really appreciate it if you left a review as it's the best way to help us! Also, if you want to benefit from the launch discount, get the game as it will end soon! On top of that, you can get a further discount if you own our other game, Soul Stalker. If you own Wanted Shadows, you also get a discount on Soul Stalker!

We've been hard at work finishing Wanted Shadows and tomorrow all of that pays off since it's release day! I wanted to share some stats with you all prior to the release, so you know what to expect... So here you go!

140 in-run upgrades.
5 characters.
6 weapons.
17 equippable powers.
36 achievements.
3 levels.
3 ascensions per level.
Our aim with Wanted Shadows was to make it the most action-based and engaging Bullet Heaven, as well as providing a crazy amount of bang for your buck (hence the low price)! We don't work with a publisher that takes a large percentage cut, so this is the reason we can pass on the savings to you!
Another thing I wanted to mention is that if you buy/already own our other game, Soul Stalker, you'll get a discount off of Wanted Shadows, so if you really want to get it for even more dirt cheap, make sure to get it!
