First off, a massive thank you to all of you playing Bullets & Brains and sharing your feedback!
We’ve been reading through your comments and reviews, and today we’re rolling out a fresh update packed with improvements, gameplay tweaks, and long-overdue audio enhancements.
What's New & Improved
Powerup System Overhaul Powerups no longer automatically activate the second you gather enough brains. You now have full control over when to trigger your powerup selection, letting you save those crucial upgrades for when you really need them.
High-Octane Intro Sequence We added a brand-new, action-packed opening sequence right at the start of the game to throw you straight into the thick of it and give you an immediate taste of the chaos to come.
More Accessible Easy Difficulty We’ve tweaked and balanced the Easy difficulty mode to make it far more approachable for novices and casual players. If you want a smoother, less punishing experience while you get the hang of the mechanics, now is the perfect time to dive in.
Tutorial Skip & Refinements By popular demand, you can now skip the tutorial entirely if you already know the ropes. We’ve also made a few polish tweaks to make the onboarding smoother for new players.
Achievement Bug Fixes Fixed an issue where certain achievements were failing to unlock. Your hard-earned trophies should now pop properly!
General Polish & Bug Fixes A variety of smaller performance optimizations, balance tweaks, and bug fixes across the entire game to keep your runs feeling smooth.
Essential Audio Fix... We sincerely apologize for this critical oversight: the Fart Cloud Powerup now officially features a proper fart sound effect upon activation. Immersion restored.

We are incredibly proud to announce the launch of Bullets & Brains: Ultimate Edition! This is a massive milestone for us, and we can’t wait for you to dive into all the new content.
Here is a breakdown of what’s waiting for you in the Ultimate Edition:
5 Brand-New Characters: Expand your roster of survivors!
The Marines Join the Fight: Play as two colonial marines from the Red Solstice universe (a huge thank you to our awesome friends at Ironward!).
Mr. D is Here: Take control of the iconic Mr. D from Bubble Trouble, complete with his signature weapon.
New Exclusive Power-ups: More wild ways to wipe out the undead hordes.
Difficulty Selection: Tailor your experience with the newly added Easy mode, or test your reflexes in Hard mode for the ultimate challenge.
We’ve also implemented a bunch of gameplay tweaks, balance changes, and bug fixes to make the game smoother than ever.
Best of all? The Ultimate Edition is 100% FREE. If you already own Bullets & Brains, the game will automatically upgrade to the Ultimate Edition in your Steam library right now.
A Special Celebration: We Are Back in Control!
We have one more major thing to celebrate today. If you didn't know, Bullets & Brains was created by a tiny core team here at Ajvar Studio. We are officially parting ways with our former publisher, No Gravity Games.
We want to extend a massive thank you to Steam Support. They were absolutely incredible in helping us navigate this situation and handing full control of the store page back to the people who actually made the game: us.
⚠️ Note regarding consoles: Because we had to sever ties with the publisher, we unfortunately had to delist the game from console stores for the time being. We are actively working on bringing the game back to consoles. For now, Steam is the exclusive home of the Ultimate Edition.
