Captain's log, stardate 231027!
Welcome to the first entry in our CosmoPirates development diary. We're excited to share our journey with you as we continue to create an epic, hilarious, intergalactic deckbuilder. CosmoPirates is a game that we've poured our hearts and souls into, and we can't wait to bring it to life.
The Team
Before we dive into the nitty-gritty, let's introduce ourselves. We are a small but passionate team of two developers – Karol and Robert. With a shared love for science fiction, space exploration, and gaming, we set out on this cosmic journey to create a game that captures the essence of adventure and excitement.
The Demo
The demo is the first glimpse you'll get into the world of CosmoPirates. It will feature a slice of the gameplay, allowing you to get a taste of what's to come in the full game. We're striving to make the demo as polished and as engaging as possible.
So far, we've completed the core gameplay mechanics, including card-based battles and map exploration. Karol has been hard at work creating an interesting, procedurally generated star segment for you to explore with every run. We can't wait to share the demo with you and start gathering your feedback!
Localization Efforts
We hope that our game has the potential to resonate with a global audience, and that's why we're putting great effort into localization.
Robert has been working on making the game easy to translate into multiple languages, ensuring that players from different corners of the world can fully enjoy the CosmoPirates experience. We don't really have a huge budget for localization, so we would need to carefully choose what languages to support in the first place.
Future Features - The Crew
From the very beginning, we envisioned CosmoPirates as a game that would not only take you on a thrilling journey across the stars but also allow you to meet a variety of characters along the way, and recruit some of them to your crew. We believe that in games (as in life) teamwork is the key, where each member brings their unique set of skills and perks to the table. We wanted players to forge deep connections with their crewmates and make choices that impact their journey through the cosmos.
Creating a diverse cast of crew members has been a labor of love. We've designed each character with their own backstory, personality, and skills.
Some might be master engineers who can boost your ship's performance, while others could be cunning cutthroats, eager for a fight for a handful of credits.
As you recruit different crew members, you'll discover their individual stories and quirks, making your crew feel alive and relatable.
