The version number of the new update is 1.3.6, if you see a different version number in the main menu and Steam isn’t updating the game for you, the quickest way to get the update is to restart your Steam. If you are still on the old version you will not be able to see games from the new version, so make sure you download the update!
Today we are peeling back the mysterious game code and revealing the stats for your mini player abilities or huge player towers! The menus in the game have been updated with a focus on making choices clearer and explaining how the game works. Let's take a tour!
New Mini Player Shop Screen
The Item shop screen and Stats screen are now visible at the same time! Lots of changes make this menu more helpful to read and use
All stats now show their numerical value that the game is using. Now you can see exactly what power is going into your build.
Ability Strength stat & Shield Health stat start off locked (aka not upgradable) until you actually buy an item that uses those stats.
Previously, it was unclear to the player that upgrading shield health added no value if you didn't have a shield equipped. The same is true for Ability Strength, which we also handle with the next feature:
In the top right of the Items shop window, text hints will appear to show all of the special abilities you currently have from your items! Abilities also include an icon to show which stat they are primarily impacted by. Here is the full list of Abilities depicted in the menu:

When hovering over any upgrade button, or any item button, the stat numbers update showing the change the upgrade will have!
If an item changes your stats in a positive way, green text will appear previewing what that change will be.
If an item negatively changes your stats, the preview text will be red.
When items add or remove abilities to your character you can also see those abilities highlighted in red if they'll be deleted, or green if they'll be added.
We standardized the use of the green "Tactic Tokens" icon everywhere that cost values are listed, for easy reading.
All of the hover texts have been updated to more accurately reflect the changes the items give. previously % changes were depicted as the total change you would have by getting each item in the chain, now each item only shows the change it specifically gives relative to your current loadout. Also fixed preview hints that gave incorrect information, or was missing information.
New Huge Player "Towers" Tech Tree Screen
Stats aren't just for lil' players! Now with a click of the new orange "Towers" button on the bottom toolbar, you can preview all of the available towers in the game! This menu currently only works as a dictionary of info, placing towers still works as it previously did.
Towers have all their stats visible here, with a key to reference what each stat represents.
Prices are listed for each upgrade, and does not include the total cost needed to get to that tower in the train.
The menu can be navigated by clicking the scroll bar, scrolling the mouse wheel, or dragging the content within the window.
Other Various Menu Updates!
Each screen in the main menu has been revamped for aesthetics, and also to get rid of unneeded scrolling throughout these menus. We hope you find these new menus prettier, easier to read, and faster to use!
Other Balance Fixes:
Throughout making all this information visible to the player we noticed some inconsistencies we want to address. many more balance changes will come in a future update, but for now we adjusted the following:
blizzard tower's range has been increased to outperform lower tier ice towers
Jump height code has been restructured. Jump height multipliers will be more reliable now.
Ability Strength Stat has been restructured and buffed. Here is the full list of items/abilites that it impacts:
Enchanted Helm. Activatable Invulnerability time length is based on Ability Strength Stat
Forcefield Bandana. Activatable Forcefield time length is based on Ability Strength Stat
Electro-Magnetic Shoes. *New! Deflector power is now based on Ability Strength Stat! If you have low Ability Strength, the Deflector works the same as it did in previous versions. If you have higher Ability Strength, then projectiles will start getting deflected farther away from yourself, and they will deflect at stronger angles away from you!
Dash (Ninja Bandana) Dash distance is based on Ability Strength
Super Dash (Two Ninja Bandanas) Ability Strength Functions at +50% power for Super Dashes.

Today we are releasing new Mini-Games for choosing the huge Toppler, as well as some bug fixes and QOL features.
Next up, we are planning to release a UI update for topple tactics! This UI update will make the game UI a lot more informative.
Here are today's patch notes:
Two New Huge Toppler Mini Games!
Fall wall is a plinking drop game where all topplers are flung down a wall of bouncy pillars! First one to the bottom becomes the huge player!
parkour path is a quick obstacle course, where random platforms will fall out from the path. All players are equipped with double jump shoes and double speed for the mini game
Bugs Fixed:
Fully reworked the hitbox for the electro deflector shoes, they no longer cause the repeated death bug from spawning into acid lab or its variants.
Fixed bug where huge guy would infinitely spawn death particles after dying.
New Features:
All towers now have a range indicator for the huge player! This circle shows up when placing towers and reappears whenever you hover your mouse over a tower.
Note that the range indicator shows how far projectiles or areas of effect actually impact mini Topplers, some towers (like cannons) will detect topplers and try to shoot at them outside of their range, but in this case the bombs will drop at the edge of the range indicator.

This update DOUBLES the map count in topple tactics! Each map is a variant of one of the previously existing maps, but with a distinct path and feeling.

Ultimate towers are extremely strong final upgrades for many of the existing towers in Topple Tactics, each tower introduces a new mechanic to the game!

Meteor Tower (Cannon Upgrade) - Fires meteors at every Toppler on the map every few seconds, meteors also randomly rain from the sky.
Mother Gun (Machine Gun Upgrade) - We clearly didn’t have enough bullets. This tower spawns 5 mini machine guns around it.
Tremor Pillar (Bouncy Pillar Upgrade) - The bounce from this pillar shakes the earth itself, triggers by itself every few seconds, also triggered by players. When triggered, a shockwave comes out of the ground and spreads across the entire map, all Topplers on the ground will be knocked back if touched by the shockwave.
Ball of Pure Energy (Wrecking Ball Upgrade) - This wrecking ball has gained sentience! Randomly wanders around the map, stalking the closest Toppler if they get close enough, and periodically charging at them.
Accretion Black Hole (Black Hole Upgrade) - This black hole has attracted meteors, forming a massive accretion disc around it, if a Toppler touches a meteor they will be knocked back.
Only one ultimate tower can exist at once in a game
Currently each ultimate tower upgrades from both crosspaths of each tower. As we add more ultimate towers this will likely stop being the case.
This update also includes minor bug fixes, including fixing cosmetics that were incorrectly rendering on Huge Player.

It has been a fantastic year of fighting giants with silly hats, giant shields, and shoes for topplers who don't even have feet! But now we face year 2 of Topple Tactics... and its time for some upgrades.
THE HUGE PLAYER CAN WIN NOW!
What's that? Games stalemating because of a perfect Huge player tower defense? No longer! With this new update, games of Topple Survival can now end early if no players are able to reach the end of the level for over 4 minutes. When that happens, the game automatically ends and the Huge Player claims a victory!
As a heads up, a timer will show up on everyone's screen when there is only 100 seconds left on the clock. Make sure you actually HIT the huge player before that time! Just shooting out of the cannon won't be enough!
NEW GAME MODE: TOPPLE TUG OF WAR!
In the spirit of new game rules, we are proud to introduce a mode that directly faces the skill of the little players against the huge player, letting either of them win outright!
In this new mode, the health bar is replaced by a progress bar that starts in the middle.
To win the game as a little Toppler, you must reach the end of the level to push the progress bar toward the left, and if the little toppers entirely fill their half of the bar, they win!
To win the game as the Huge Toppler, you need to hold off the little players! You slowly regain health over time in this mode, represented by the progress bar slowly moving toward the right side, for a Huge Player Victory! If you can hold off the Little Topplers for long enough and fill your half of the bar, you win!
But let's kick up the challenge: In order to limit hard stomps by one side or the other, this game mode gives progressive buffs to the losing side, to give them a chance at stealing back a victory!

If the huge player progresses 33% of the way to victory (from the middle), Little players will receive a small buff to their passive income, speed, knockback resist, ability strength, and jump height!
If the huge player progresses 66% of the way to victory, most of these little player buffs are doubled!
If the little players are winning instead (by going 33% toward the left of the middle), the Huge player receives more passive income, quickened ability cooldowns, and their towers become stronger
if the little players progress 66% of the way to victory, the Huge Player's Buffs become even better!

NEW SECRET UNLOCKABLES AND THE FINAL WEEKLY CHALLENGE!
The Winter Wonderland enters it's final week! And today we introduce a new free cosmetic type:
TOPPLER ACCESSORIES! For today's update the first added accessories are winter scarves that you can wear with any skin. You'll have to find them hidden in each map! Good luck on the hunt, and look forward to new accessories being added to the daily cannon reward pool in January!
We have chosen to extend the end of the event to Friday January 3rd, to allow players time to play a few more games and unlock more skins! This is your only chance to grab these skins before they are locked away forever. The final weekly event also rewards a full 10,000 xp to help you claim an extra skin before the end of the event.

- In this mode, little players can earn medals for winning! The ability to earn a medal is based on your K/D (Or more accurately, your "Shoot/Death") ratio and your total number of times shot at the Huge Player:

Diamond Medal: Awarded for K/D >= 2/1 and having a number of kills greater than: (2.5 * player count)
Gold Medal: Awarded for K/D >= 1.6/1 and having a number of kills greater than: (2 * player count)
Silver Medal: Awarded for K/D >= 1.2/1 and having a number of kills greater than: (1.5 * player count)
Bronze Medal: Awarded for K/D >= 1/1 and having a number of kills greater than the number of players in the game.
- Huge Player Medals in this mode are rewarded as follows:

Diamond Medal: Winning in under 4 minutes, & at least 20 little Toppler kills in the match.
Gold Medal: Winning in under 7 minutes, & at least 10 little Toppler kills in the match.
Silver Medal: Winning in under 10 minutes, & at least 7 little Toppler kills in the match.
Bronze Medal: Winning at all, & at least 5 little Toppler kills in the match.
Survival Mode:
If 4 minutes passes in game without anyone reaching the end orb, the game immediately ends as a huge player victory.
A warning countdown clock appears for the last 100 seconds to let little players know how much time they have left to try and win.
Balance Changes:
Spiky Cleats price changed from 80 -> 60 topple coins. And they now resist ice effect and wind effect while on the ground AND while in the air. Spikey Cleats also now work against Ice cannon, which was a bug previously.
Steel shoes now preserve 50% speed boost when upgrading from running shoes, instead of removing all speed boost.
Metal Shoes with holes and Chunky shoes both benefit from this preserved speed boost, making them both faster.
Aeroplane hat 400% fall speed reduction reduced to 300%

Huge guy visual bugs fixed for Halloween skins
Daily reward cannon no longer gets confused when you've recently won an in-game reward skin.
Skin customization menu no longer empties out every other time you click the refresh button. Previously this bug occasionally caused your newest earned item to appear in the empty version of your inventory, this effect has also been fixed.

As you do in-game actions like winning games, launching yourself at the huge guy, or earning medals, you'll be earning xp toward the Halloween event pass. Once you meet the xp required for a skin you unlock it!
Extra features of the event:

Each map is themed for Halloween! Changes last for this event only!
After each game you play, an XP screen will tally up what you earned from that last game, and show what you accomplished!

Patch Notes:
The forcefield from the Forcefield bandana no longer gets targeted by towers. It’s duration has been changed:

From: 4 seconds (at min ability strength) - 8 seconds (at max ability strength)
To: 2 seconds (at min ability strength - 10 seconds (at max ability strength)
The spiky cleats have been added to the game! These shoes provide a complete immunity to ice and wind effects whilst grounded.
The antimatter shoe drawback has been lowered in intensity.
The regeneration shield now regenerates 4 health every tick instead of 1, however it’s health has been lowered to compensate.
The Enchanted helm now actually makes you invincible. You can no longer take health damage, enter flop mode or get knocked up by cannon shots when under its effects.
The nebula shield health has been raised significantly. The idea is that it’s not very protective but almost acts like a permanent barrier. If used correctly, it should reward players with high skill at utilising their shields.
The cost of the slingshot has been decreased to 4 tokens from 5, and its power has been increased slightly. It has also been decoupled from the cannon/machinegun tree to make upgrading less frustrating. The idea behind the slingshot is to allow it to act as a spammable, throwaway tower for the Mega Toppler to use in a pinch.
Income tick size has been increased for the Mega Toppler in topple survival, to compensate, the bursts of income during phase changes have been lowered slightly. This means the Mega Toppler will spend less time “sitting around doing nothing” during the game.
Silver and Gold sweepers have been made to spin slightly faster to make upgrading to those levels more worth it. The top levels of spinner have also been made slightly faster.
The groundinator now shoots slightly smaller bursts, but shoots them more often.
The bouncy pillar cost has been lowered to 6 from 7, the upgrade cost for the silver and gold bouncy pillar has been lowered to 3 from 5.
The wide shields has been replaced with the round shield. A shield that protects the Toppler from most angles!
The pirate event skins have been made unobtainable.

The next Topple Tactics update, 1.3.1.2, is now live!
We wanted to take a moment to share some insights into the ongoing development of Topple Tactics. We understand that the recent updates have sparked mixed reactions within our community, and we genuinely appreciate the clarity and usefulness of feedback we've received, in particular from the game's Discord server.
Many of the recent decisions were made to ensure Topple Tactics wouldn't stick to single repetitive metas. We want to make Toppler equipment and tower choices matter more in gameplay. This recent update just started that process. We want to improve the specialization and identity of each tower and mini guy item/stat, and also ensure that our intent for these items are properly represented in game and out of game.
In an ideal version of Topple Tactics, sticking to a single build type as a mini guy (only tank, only speed, only fall speed reduction) should make you exceptionally strong against certain towers and quite vulnerable to others. No single tech path should be the solution to all huge guy tower layouts (except perhaps maxing out every little guy stat!). These recent changes aren't perfect reflections of our final goal, but they are here to test how certain ideas feel when mixed into the game.
Regarding flop mode, it was always a goal for this game to have a layer of chaos. We intentionally want this game to have chaotic party-game energy along an undertone of competitive strategy. We will continue to adjust flop mode to better fit the game. There’s a balance to be struck: ensuring that a mixed-build mini Toppler can reasonably avoid being flopped (or has good recovery if they spec into the right equipment), while also ensuring that a picking the wrong build (or even an intentionally risky one) for the towers at hand will send you flying.
We are very invested in having fun synergies in the game, both with tower synergies and mini Toppler item synergies. We’ve heard your concerns about the loss of the ice and black hole synergy. It had become too powerful in its previous state, but it is not forgotten.
Recently, we had a team meeting to discuss the ideal identity and “fun” of each playstyle. We will reveal these concepts once they are fully fleshed out, but we also recognize that a backlog of bugs have become frustrating in the face of feature creep.
We are committed to addressing these bugs immediately, and from our research into them, some of them will require drastic overhauls of how certain systems in the game function (like server connections).
When it comes to what we develop next, we want to fix these bugs, whilst also testing balance ideas so that the game can be "unbalanced" for as short of a period as possible. Our goal is to ensure that Topple Tactics remains a dynamic and enjoyable experience for all players, whether you want to play competitively, or just goof off and have fun.
This update mainly centers around adjusting the balancing issues and fixing bugs relating to the recent flop update.
That being said, here are the patch notes!
Pirate event! - There are two limited edition pirate-themed skins available to unlock! Go to the event details page in the main menu for more details.
Big guy zoom - Using the scroll wheel, you can zoom in the big toppler’s view. You can then pan the camera by hovering the mouse to the screen edges or using the arrow keys / WASD
Black hole changes - The black hole now ignores knockback resist and has been made stronger overall
Shield changes - Changed some multipliers around how shield health was calculated, leading to very similar final health for all with a maxed out build. Shields now have the appropriate amount of health. The health of all shields has been buffed.
Wrecking ball - The wrecking ball has been nerfed to be weaker against tank builds. The higher your knockback resist stat, the more the wrecking ball gets stopped in its tracks when it hits a toppler. Previously, only the knockback value itself was affected leading to similar knockback regardless of build.
Sweeper knockback has been lowered slightly
Slightly lowered effects of wind on speed build, there is no longer an “acceleration” feeling to it
The ninja headband now allows you to instantly change direction when used. It will push the player towards the direction the camera is looking
Bombs fired from cannons now travel slightly slower
Double cannon fire rate has been lowered slightly
Tank item changes

Chunky shoes now give immunity to flop mode
Colossus helm now gives immunity to taking extra knockback if your health is lowered
Bug Fixes:
Fixed the player still sometimes getting hit when their forcefield was still active, this should happen significantly less often now
The slingshot icon now goes red if the big toppler has less than 5 tokens, rather than 15 tokens previously
Fixed the player getting stuck in flop mode when smacked into a wall
Stopped cannons and other towers excessively knocking the player up
Changed hitboxes of shields so they should get stuck less often and give the toppler slightly more mobility
Added extra precautions to stop toppler’s legs going out of alignment
Daily Item Wheel fixes:

The daily item wheel now makes sure steam is responsive before letting you press the “Daily Reward” button. Preventing failed spin attempts.
Made the wheel spin shorter.

IN-GAME CHAT! - There is finally a chat in the game which you can use to interact with people in the same game as you

You can start typing a message by pressing the "/" key
You can mute and unmute players by clicking the speech bubble in the game details screen (accessed with TAB)
You can select whether the chat shows only on a new message, always shows or always hides in the settings menu
Balancing!

Double jump shoes have been slightly nerfed (the jump height is slightly lower)
Bouncy Pillars and Sweepers are now significantly cheaper to buy
Ice Towers are now slightly more expensive to buy
Bouncy Pillar knockback has been increased
A few towers had one obvious best path, a few towers have been buffed to make the second counterpart more powerful
Double cannon fire rate has been increased significantly
Triple machine gun fire rate has been increased significantly
Triple fan knockback has been increased significantly
The knockback strategy has been buffed to make it more in-line with the speed strategy
Upgrading speed now slightly reduces knockback resistance (even if you haven’t purchased any knockback resist items)
Knockback resist items now provide an increased buff to the stat
Mega cannon no longer ignores knockback resistance, its base knockback has been increased to compensate

TOPPLE TAKEOVER! (New Gamemode)
Tired of only one player being the Huge Toppler per game? This new gamemode is here to switch things up! In Topple Takeover, when a Little Toppler reaches the end of the level, they become the Huge Toppler! It's a battle between all players to see who can stay as the Huge Toppler for the longest amount of time!
New Cosmetic System
We ripped out some code and put some new code in! For the rest of this game's life, your in-game skins are now items that you can see in your Steam Inventory! (And show off on your steam profile)
This allows us to introduce The Daily Reward.
After playing a round of Topple Tactics, you can redeem your daily reward in the main menu, and Steam will gift you one of the new 130 skins added to the game! Each skin has a rarity based on how complex the skin's design is. Common skins are flat colors, Uncommon and Rare skins provide multi-color patterns, and Epic or Legendary skins will have either unique 3D models or unique shaders.
The Daily Reward will never give out skins earned through achievements or challenges. It also will never give out limited-time unlockables, like last year's holiday secret. If you get a skin you don't like (like a duplicate) you can trade them with other steam users, or put them up for sale on the steam marketplace!
This new system also allows us to solve a longstanding request: Skins unlocked through challenges no longer have to ALWAYS to be attached to achievements! We know a lot of players didn't get to unlock the secret skin available during the holiday season. With this new system, we can still have limited-time cosmetics exist without locking players out from having 100% achievement completion.
(We will not yet be removing the secret achievement until we are certain that the secret holiday skin has successfully migrated into the inventories of all the players who unlocked it. Just make sure to boot up the update, and check your steam inventory after you close the game. If you have all of your unlocked skins in your inventory, then you will not lose them in the future.)
Now that the steam inventory is established, we can work on adding new fun ways to unlock skins! Stay tuned as we introduce more challenge-based unlockables in future updates!
1.2 Patch Notes:
Topple Takeover Gamemode

When the huge player is chosen in the lobby, everyone will load in and receive a set amount of topple tokens to buy upgrades.
There will be a 20 second buying period during which the Huge Toppler buys all of their towers, and all the mini topplers buy all of their upgrades
At the end of this buying period, the map opens up. The first mini toppler to reach the end becomes the new mega toppler!
Every round, topplers receive more and more tokens, allowing you to try more and more elaborate strategies.
Every second survived as a huge toppler awards you with one point. The game lasts 10 minutes, at the end of the game, the player with the most points wins!
Cosmetics Updates

Added Steam Inventory functionality.
Added New Cosmetics menu with collapsible tabs for each rarity type.
Added a "Daily Reward" item, which is gifted into your inventory on completion of a round. This item gets traded out in the main menu.
Added the "Daily Reward" button in the main menu. When you click it, your "Daily Reward" item is "unboxed" and converts into a random new cosmetic.
Drop rates for the "Daily Reward" skins are as follows: Common: 35%, Uncommon: 35%, Rare: 25%, Epic: 4%, Legendary: 1%
Added 19 new Common skin colors.
Added 7 new patterns for skins of Uncommon or Rare quality, each with at least 10 color variants, totaling 107 added skins of Uncommon or Rare.
Added 4 Epic skins, each a different style of a "Hoodie Toppler"
Added the first "Daily Reward" Legendary skin: BANANA.
