**PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR DRIVERS ARE UP-TO-DATE**
Now that the game is available and making its way out in to the world we're looking at some immediate improvements as well as tackling an issue we haven't yet seen.
1. We're going to be getting a tutorial popup added so you've got a basic understanding of the controls. As we've pointed out this game is very simple and straightforward - walk, aim, shoot. So just to be sure you know exactly what to do we'll go over the controls here.
- Walking is your standard W,A,S and D. No running - although just before release we did implement a feature where after a few seconds of no combat Zane will jog to get you to the next batch of zombies a little quicker.
- Dashing - just tap the left shift button. This ability does have a cooldown so use it wisely.
- Aim & Shoot - you're going to hold the right mouse button to aim and the left mouse button to fire. You can also click the middle mouse button to turn on or off target lock which comes in handy but don't rely on it the whole time. FYI, if a zombie doesn't stay down they cannot be locked onto again once they're back up.
- Special Skills - Zane has a few tricks to help out taking down the zombies. You use these special abilities by hitting either 1, 2, 3 or 4. Each ability has a cooldown.
2. The game made it through development, testing and approval without any issues but as we all know once it hits the market new bugs are found. We're seeing one where the game crashes for some players with a lengthy DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED message. So far it seems to be resolved by uninstalling then reinstalling the game, rebooting the computer and then verifying the game files as well as updating your drivers. We're looking in to what the trigger is on some systems and it will be addressed. In the meantime if you encounter any issues please contact us at [email protected] with details.
3. Incoming update - we're putting together an update that should be available in about 2 weeks which include major optimization improvements, a social credit scoring system, headshots and keyboard customization as well as a few minor tweaks.
