Implemented a new color restriction system and dithering pattern for a sharper retro aesthetic.

Bug Fixes
Fixed a crash caused by the Earth Elemental enemy using Geomove skill
Fixed a bug that erased the name change of Plasmoids when placed in the third slot
Fixed a bug that erased the name change of Jenguren folks when placed in the third slot
Fixed a bug that occasionally applied twice the cost when rerolling the store
Fixed a rare issue where the loading of shaders during launch could crash the game.

It's been nearly 2 months since the release of the Fur & Flames Update, and players have been super happy about it!
And since then, we've learned that Forgotten Mines was nominated at Gamescom Latam for "Best Game Brazil". It's a HUGE honor, so we couldn't be happier!
We're still working on the game, and we can't wait to show you what we have planned for the next Major Update...
In the meantime, today we have a new patch that fixes a lot of issues + 2 improvements!
Changes

skills with damage now show a "base power" modifier at the end of the descriptive text, in brackets. e.g.: [60].
With the exception of Rasinok, who always offers the raven armor, the other ancient deities now offer a random legendary item when the pact is sealed.
Bugfix

fixed bug that returned nullptr when a player tried to change the name of a character with a new species.
Fixed bug when a square on the battle map become unasable when a character die.
Fixed character unable to act after restart by wipe
Fixed character dying when restarting if he was above water
Fixed crash when earth elemental geo move out of map.
-Fixed some items that did not get bonus from blacksmith.

Today's the day! The Fur & Flames Update is FINALLY available, so time to go back to the fight and reclaim your mines!
Fur & Flames Update
Two things I really wish there were more options for in the game were the playable species and the enemy variety. This update basically arises from this desire.
Shortly after launch last July, I had the idea of the plasmoids. I had been playing with this idea for a while. I thought about doing an update entirely focused on them, a type of “Plasmoid Invasion!”. Plasmoid enemies and a playable plasmoid species would exist in this update.
After reflecting a little, I came to beasts and elementals, and, honestly, I found these ideas to be more exciting for players. But nevertheless, I still wanted the presence of plasmoids in the update. I thought about expanding the lore of this universe a little, creating dwarves from the far north and a catfolk from the plains below the mountains of Dorvgrad. I also had decided that I would make at least 50 new items. Well, I ended up making 68 new items that will give players more options for different builds and compositions during their runs.
So yeah, the update got quite big, so I hope you'll like it!
Now, time for all the new stuff that this update is bringing to the game!
New Areas
After finishing the game, the player will gain access to a choice of path for his run. The standard path is made up of the areas we already know (Verdant Halls, Muddy Tunnels, Ancient Prison and Gates of Hell). An alternative path can be accessed by the player. From the third area onwards, the player will find the traditional path again, that is, the new path will have a composition with two areas different from the standard path (Beast Path, Elemental Caves, Ancient Prison and Gates of Hell).
Those new areas bring:
12 new enemies
8 bosses

Beasts' Path
A forgotten and wild piece of Verdant Halls. Beasts of all sorts took shelter here throughout the centuries of abandonment. Atrocious animals and even magical beasts can be found, without much effort in searching. The place is a jungle inside the mines
Elemental Caves
Rifts to the outermost elemental planes have been heedlessly opened for decades by the Elemental Cults of Dorvgrad. The result is an absurd population of Elementals of all types and powers roaming these caves. They say that in the most desolate parts of the Elemental Caves, some ancient elementals live.
New races
Those new races will bring even more replayability to the game!

Northern Dwarves, who conquered the inhospitable tundras and mountains of the far north of the continent. They have grayish skin with different bluish tones and, in contrast, very red eyes. They are experts in the use of northern weapons and capable of great feats in battle.
Plasmoid: Single-celled creatures from another dimension. It has a central nervous nucleus, its only organ, visible in the center of its head. It is believed that Plasmoids adhere to the humanoid form as soon as they enter the material plane.
Jenguren Folks: Humanoid felines, slightly larger than humans. They occupy the forests and plains at the foot of the Dorvgrad mountains. They mostly worship Jenguren, to whom they attribute their creation and motivation in life.
New amulets
There are 3 new amulets with this update:

Claw Amulet: Increases damage dealt to Beats by 25%
Core Amulet: Increases damage dealt to Elementals by 25%
Northern Amulet: Increases damage by 25% when equipped with a Nortern weapon
New equipments
There are 68 new equipments (weapons, armors, accessories) in this update! Even more customization, we hope you'll have fun with them!
Bug fixing
With this update we're bringing bug-fixing that you reported to us! Thanks again!!

Fixed the issue where a tile was unusable if a character died after being attacked by a monster
Fixed the gladiator class that automatically changed weapon after every loading screen
Fixed a bug making the characters unusable when starting over after a wipe
Fixed a bug allowing to absorb the stats of the items by restarting a combat
Fixed the pop-up generated by the item added by the merchant's amulet, so now it correctly disappears after moving the cursor
So yeah... this update is BIG, and hopefully players will be happy!
On a final note, more and more people are playing the game, and we couldn't be more proud! So, thanks for all the support you all have given us <3

As promised in September 2024, we've been working on new content for Forgotten Mines, and while we're still working on it, we have some news about it!
The Fur & Flames Update
After the release of Forgotten Mines and seeing how many players loved the game (THANK YOU AGAIN), we knew we wanted to keep working on the game to make it even better and bigger. Soo we got a BIT ambitious with this next update, but we hope you'll like it!
The 1.1 Update for Forgotten Mines will be called "Fur & Flames Update" and will bring new races, new equipments, and new areas! But let us tell you a bit more about it. Please keep in mind that the update is still being worked on, so there are still some things that might be different from what we're announcing here, but the general idea will stay the same.
New races
3 new races will be available in the 1.1 update, increasing the roaster even more!

After you finish the Elemental Caves, you'll go to the usual third area, which is the Ancient Prison. As you can see in the screenshots, there will be new enemies in those new areas and new bosses!
Also, we're working on bringing 68 new equipments, including weapons, armors and accessories!
As you can see, this is a VERY ambitious update, with a million parameters to take into account for the balancing, new assets to produce, testing...
This means that we're now aiming to release this big update for early 2025. We apologize for the delay, and hope you'll enjoy it!

For the last few weeks, I've been working on a new update for Forgotten Mines! It includes:

Fixed a bug that prevented the use of healing potions in the Store
Fixed a bug that kept active some ranged skills after their animation
Fixed a bug that randomly deleted units' armor and accessories after a restart
Credit and splash screen sounds are now linked to the game's normal audio channels and volume is correctly decreased or increased in the Options
After defeating Kyrmr, the player's history with Rayk is reset
Ranged units AI have been slightly improved
Glossary added with textual description of the symbols next to the items' toolhint

Welcome to this new update for Forgotten Mines, where I eliminated a softlock and fixed multiple issues! Enjoy the game:

Softlock from heal over time is fixed (for sure this time!)
Undo movement fatigue bug is fixed
Polymorphed enemies behavior bug fixed
Fix the half armour upgrade issue
Fixed a bug where an unit with Counter, right after dead, activate the perk and crash the game
Fixed a bug where an enemy can be created on an occupied tile
Fixed a bug where a druid who dies in bear form was "killing" the tile until the end of battle
Players can choose the heal option in an event if they have Heal or Heal II in one or more alive units
Fixed a bug where character where keeping fatigue after an undo movement.
Changed some evolution of item at blacksmith
Fixed a bug making the game crash if you restart a battle while a chracter was on top of an item with a full inventory

today we have a brand new update for Forgotten Mines, bringing some much-needed bug-fixing! We also want to thank you all the players for reporting the issues, that has been very helpful to fix them.

Fixed a bug where .exe could be read as malware, due to an embed .pck file. Now the .pck file is exported separately alongside the .exe.
After finding Rayk once, the player will always have information on his location.
Corrected soft-lock with passive healing.
Fixed corrupted save in descent mode after heroes reach lvl6
Fixed a bug where, when restarting the game in animal form (wolf or bear), the Druid would lose maximum HP.
It is no longer possible to buy a poe stone after refreshing the items.
Fixed the price of the poe stone
The player can now change the name of their units on the new game screen.
Fixed a bug where, when the inventory was full and battle was restarted, an "error" sound was emitted.
We also want to thank you all for the very positive reviews, and we've now reached the 100 reviews threshold!
If you still have bugs/issues about your game, please give us as much info as possible so we can investigate on them as best as we can! :) Our immediate objective is the stability of the game and get rid of the remaining issues.

Today, we have a brand new patch for Forgotten Mines, bringing some much-neede bug fixing!

Hero can no longer be revived because of perks with passive regeneration causing softlock.
If you change equipped item while one of your character is on an item on the ground, the unequipped item will no longer be lost.
Fixed hero keeping bonus HP from leveling up after restarting battle.
Fixed some text going out of bounds in some languages.
Some adjustments have been made to the reroll button. The button should no longer disappear after too many rerolls. Persk should no longer reroll in the same two perks. If there is only two possible perks, the button will no longer be displayed.
Controller: Fixed a bug that duplicated items when equipping them.
Controller : A feedback has been added to the "diamond to gold button" in the guild screen to show the player the button is selected.
Fixed Vsync to no longer be turned on after restarting the game.
We're still working on fixing other reported bugs, one of the most urgent ones is the issue where players sometimes lose their equipments after restarting the battle.
If you still have bugs/issues about your game, please give us as much info as possible so we can investigate on them as best as we can! :)

As said in the last blogpost, I've come bearing a patch update to fix most reported bugs, which are:

Fixed all restart battle bugs
Fixed resurrection bugs
Fixed bug that makes enemies act on positioning phase, when restarted battle
Fixed bug that crashed the game with the directional pad down on the controller during the positioning phase
Fixed next level xp restart bug
Fixed bug that prevented windowed mode
Reworked save system to prevent save file corruption; if there is still corruption, the player receives all the gems from the corrupted run and can start a new one
Improvement in the tile selection UI
Improvement in the AI of enemies with SMART and SILLY behavior
Fixed druid that sometimes entered combat out of AP
Fixed some translation issues in different languages
Fixed a bug with Eathquake that sometimes killed an ally
Now go enjoy your (hopefully) bugless run, and keep sharing your feedback and issues; I'll do my best to fix them!
