Living means it might wiggle around a bit - because your ideas and great suggestions might shift our priorities. BUT without further ado, here’s what you can look forward to for now
🛠️ ONGOING STUFF
We’ll be squashing bugs, optimizing performance, and dropping Quality of Life improvements on the regular. Also, we’re always lurking in Discord and the Steam forums, so your feedback is constantly helping us shape GLUM into the best goblin-smashing, boot-slinging, ragdoll-flinging game it can be.

The game may play the incorrect music in the Arena Mode / Story Mode. Temporary fix for this would be to respawn in the pause menu and then the music should play correctly.
Hotfixes:

Added measures to hopefully circumvent issues of mouse detection and accidentally clicking through or outside the screen of the game when in windowed or windowed-borderless mode.

We *may* have fixed this, but the game now starts in Fullscreen by default which *seems* to be a way to solve the issue for now (meaning Borderless and Windowed could still cause issues)
Added Arena Mode button to Victory Screen.
Fixed an issue in Hub that caused Cassiopeia to sometimes play two dialogues on
top of each other.
Added an animation on Glum’s hands, which indicate that the Lob-Kick button has been pressed (KeyboardMouse: Q/ALT, Controller: Left Bumper).

Some general FAQ’s for launch
When will the game launch?

The game will go live on the 22nd of May at 6 PM CET, 12 PM EDT, 12 AM CST (23rd).
How much will the game cost?

During the Early Access period, the game will cost approximately $12.49 USD.
There will be a 20% launch discount for the first 2 weeks.
What will the Early Access build include?

The first world of Glum’s journey where you will find wacky enemy interactions, goofy collectibles, trials, a main hub and much more. You can expect around 1-3 hours of gameplay at launch for the story mode.
An Arena Mode that UNLOCKS after completing the story mode. Arena Mode is a wave-based combat arena, where you have to clear 20 of increasingly more difficult waves, where you can practice your combat skills!
When can we expect the first major update?

We are aiming for Summer 2025, but is subject to change depending on community feedback.
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

During Early Access we will be implementing new biomes, enemies, abilities and systems based on our internal roadmap as well as community feedback.
With every major update, the game will increase significantly in content and playtime.
What are some of the bigger changes since the Steam Next Fest Demo?

A brand new wave-based combat Arena Mode!
The entirety of the first level is available with objectives and a new companion has been added to increase narrative coherence.
Boot cosmetics and progression system for future ability and basic combat enhancements.

Last week, we told you more about what to expect from Early Access - but now we're chiming in with a few more cool additions.
Many of our testers and Discord community members have asked for boot cosmetics - and as mentioned in the last update, your prayers have been answered!
In addition to the in-game boots which you'll be able to unlock as you progress and explore, we're also adding a special Midas Boot and a Follower Boot! ✨
To unlock these cool boot skins, you'll have to:

Golden 'Midas' Boot: Buy our Supporter Pack which will be available on launch for the price of 4,99 USD.
Silver Follower Boot: Follow GLUM & CinderCat Games here on Steam for future updates and receive the boot in game!

Over the past months, we’ve been testing, tweaking, and occasionally breaking things in spectacularly stupid ways. Thanks to the absolute legends in our Discord community, we’ve squashed bugs, fine-tuned our glorious ragdoll physics, and even thrown in a brand-new boss fight (OMG they said the word). Plus, for those of you with a keen sense of fashion — yes, we've added new boot cosmetics, because your foot deserves to look fabulous while it's embedded in someone’s face 👢
What to Expect From Early Access
Early Access isn’t just a label for us - it’s a promise. A promise that we’re gonna keep building this weird, loud, hilarious world with you. The game might be smaller in the beginning, but will grow significantly larger from every update!
We already have some cool stuff cooking for the first updates post-launch, and a roadmap is coming any day now! Until then, we’ve gathered some relevant FAQ’s for you, so you’ll know what to look forward to on the 22nd 💥

Three short updates for you!
We are still working towards a new version of the Demo as well as preparing for Early Access later this year!
So what have we been working on lately?
As mentioned last time, our Style System (or Menace System) has been through some iterations and we have received a lot of valuable feedback!
We are still want to pimp out the style system, but we are moving in a good direction!
We also just this weekend had a bigger test, where we have gotten a lot of awesome feedback from testers.
Based on that feedback, we will working on improving:

Even more different Menace Actions, that emphasizes your gameplay! Ideally we would love for it to be able to react to everything you do, but at the same time not over do it.
We are still playing around with the general movement speed of Glum, as some people find him a little too fast and difficult to control while airborne.
Improving the exploration spots and collectibles to enhance incentive.
Improving minor stuff in tutorial such as wording and moving a barrel or two.
And also, look at this beautiful team??? (We got some new team merch)

We thought it might be nice to know a little about what we’re working on behind-the-scenes, so we’ll try to put out a few short devlogs when we’ve go interesting stuff to share!
Ever since the demo was released, we’ve been hard at work assessing some of the feedback we’ve received from you guys - and while we appreciate the feet pics, it is “feedback” and not “feetback”…
So now that’s in the clear, let’s bring you up to speed on what’s been happening here at the “Bootcamp”.
We’ve had a lot of focus on really bringing out the menacing parts of our combat, while also trying to up the Action-feel of GLUM, so we’re currently testing the following:
We’ve upped the pace of combat by quite a bit.

Glum is faster with shorter cooldowns
Enemies die faster, and there are a lot more of them (like, A LOT)
Encounters have a lot more environmental dangers for you to take advantage off
We’ve also worked on a “style system”, which rewards players for being a real menace!

This system rewards more points by more difficult and menacing actions
It has cool/funny/edgy/cringey names for actions (a lot of puns)
A highscore will in fact give you bragging rights over your less skilled pals - dev-confirmed
As we’re still ironing out some of the kinks, we’ll be looking for testers over at our Discord server, so if you’re interested in following along, please join the Goblin Gang over there!
