For example, here’s a fun fact we’ve shared before about capybara feet 📔
Capybaras have 4 toes in front, and 3 in the back.
The webbing between their toes helps them swim, but also spreads their weight over the mud. This lets them run faster when the ground is slick or especially squishy.
Capybaras don’t have backward knees! The first joint up from their toes is an ankle, which also means… capybaras walk on their tippy-toes like ballerinas!
Details like this are sprinkled throughout the game ✨

If you haven’t had a chance to try it yet, our demo is available for you to play! Here are some tips to help you get the most out of your first day of exploring the Amazon.💚
Flutter Away is a game about exploration.
All animals and plants in the game are based on real-life species found in the Amazon Rainforest!
There’s no combat, enemies, or time limit, so take your time to explore every nook and cranny to get the most out of your experience!
Don’t forget to take pictures of everything 📸 You may even stumble across hidden discoveries.

Capybara
Capybaras are one of the chillest animals in the Amazon, but like all wildlife, they should be treated with care. Trust takes time, don’t worry if the Capybara runs away from you on Day 1! <3
Kapok Tree
Every individual adds to the forest - a fact best embodied by the mighty Kapok Trees that fill the Amazon forest. Kapok trees are recognisable by their broad root base and towering branches. They stand tall above the canopy and offer homes to countless creatures large and small.

Dazzling Nightfigher
A butterfly that prefers the night? This is a butterfly species that goes against the norms! These playful and energetic creatures are active during the nighttime, a behavior we normally associate with moths.
Bromeliads
Familiar plants from far away. This flower may seem familiar to you, and that's because they are often sold as house plants in garden centres all over the world! Did you know that the bright colors are not a flower, but are actually special leaves? They lead to pools of water, sometimes used by tree frogs! 🐸
Tracks and feathers
We don’t always see animals around us. Tracks, sounds, and feathers give clues of what we cannot see. Take some time to notice these small changes as you play, and enjoy the secret signs that life leaves behind!
And this isn’t everything you can find! Try to take as many photos as you can to discover and learn about all the wildlife in this slice of the Amazon you’ve found yourself in.

I knew the footprints in our game reflected a Capybara’s actual footprint, but I’d never really thought about the ins and outs of their toes and how they walk..
Let me hand it over to Jonas, our Nature Researcher and Capybara expert at Runaway to chat more about them, as this topic has garnered interest from a streamer of the game.
Hi everyone! I’m Jonas and it’s my pleasure to share just a few more facts I found while researching Capybara:

Capybara have 4 toes in front, and 3 in the back. I couldn’t figure out why exactly, but I did learn that guinea pigs are their close relatives, and they also have four in front and three in back!
The webbing between their toes helps them swim, but also spreads their weight over mud. This lets them run faster when the ground is slick or especially squishy.
Capybara don’t have backwards knees! The first joint up from their toes is an ankle, which also means… Capybara walk on their tippy toes like ballerinas! A longer foot gives extra spring, and a lot of other animals walk on their tippy toes too, including dogs, cats, birds, and horses.
