It’s called Heart of Rot and lets you experience a new story with additional levels, new enemies and fresh ways to play. ✨
In Heart of Rot you embark on a side-story to the Capital, a city that has long stood as a bastion of hope in a world overrun by howling beasts. The Prophet has heard rumors that the alchemists there have found a cure for the Howl. When she arrives, she finds a city consumed by rot ...
This update features its own chapter map, new enemies, a new boss level, innovative environment mechanics, the new Lightning Shot skill (which, once unlocked, can be used in the main game!), and an NPC who fights by your side in later levels. ⚡🏹
Access to this update is FREE for anyone who has bought Howl. To play the new chapter, select it on the Chapter 3 map at any point after having reached Chapter 3 of the main story. Heart of Rot follows its own storyline and can be completed either before or after the main Howl story. 🐺

In Howl, you plan your moves in advance, queueing your actions up to 6 turns ahead.
With the Howl plague turning many people into wolves, they are always a threat to be dealt with. We've got only 2 health, but our crossbow makes short work of those beasts 🏹
Another option is to get dangerously close and shove those pesky beasts against obstacles... ...or themselves 🙌
Line up your moves well, and you can use special powerful skills on certain slots. 💪 It pays off to plan well ahead!
...and that’s the basics! There’s much more to explore, and plenty of challenges with difficulty ramping up throughout 60 levels. With the Steam Winter Sale, now’s the best time to get Howl and enjoy this dark folktale. 🐺

Due out later this year, you play a deaf hero in search of a cure to a sinister 'howling plague' that's devastated the land around you and turned all its inhabitants into blood-thirsty beasts - and having played its first chapter last week, its combination of tight planning, grid-based shoving and limited ammo a la Into The Breach is very, very moreish indeed. Definitely one to watch for strategy game fans.
