-Dark Matter Mix (tavern drink) should now be fixed in co-op
-Comet Cola added to the tavern options!
-Swapped continue and new game button, made "new game" into "new save file"
-Sentry item is now correctly listed as a passive
-Some players were experiencing menu controls being very fast on controller. This should now be fixed
-Controller showing blank items names in the inventory should be fixed
-Tab Menu highlights the currently hovered item in inventory a bit more clearly when using controller
-Fortune Teller's item choices are ordered correctly for controller navigation
-Player 2's tab menu should now display their items correctly in co-op
-Player 2 can now use special slot correctly (bombs, potion etc)
-Two players can now play Void together in co-op with working suck mechanics

-Added some missing items that don't get saved through death in casual mode (character specific items like Trinity and Whirlwing Ring)
-Grav Zone no longer moves planets
-Remote Shopper drops items directly on the player that uses it, cant be used with 0 charges and recharges per floor correctly
-Frozen runts and bats now get affected properly by push/pull effects (Vortex, Slugger, Riptide etc)
-Escort mission no longer appears in the Starry Sea

-Removed a Business Suit bug when discounting the Colosseum shop
-Cursed shop items improved to be a bit more worth the payoff
-Hydra should now crit more and apply more bullet effects
-Hydra now loses host after going through doors (for instance to the Colosseum shop)
-Railgun damage nerfed
-Fixed bug caused when you have too many rebels post-Sun fight
-Should now be hit less after the post-miniboss cutscene pause (bullets cleared, nearby enemies destroyed)

-Removed some areas where chakrams, players or enemies could potentially get stuck in walls
-Some music overlaps should now be fixed, as well as a desync on the Colosseum soundtrack
-Venus now attacks faster after bullets cleared
There was also a patch yesterday with the following:
-Mini Drones should no longer break the casual save file
-Chakram should no longer get stuck outside of the Monolith boss fight
-Chakram should now respawn in Saturn's boss room- and enter-room effects now happen when entering Saturn's boss room
-Hive Mind should no longer delete enemies when changing targets
-The Starry Sea black screen is now removed
-Deleting your save file should reset your current character back to Pluto
-Prismatic Shot and Railgun items now have their sprites added
-Recall Whistle now always costs a charge even if there's nothing to recall
-Fixed a bug causing the Perfect Challenge rescue cage to not open
-Enemies get feared for less time the more times they get feared (cant permanently stun bosses with fear)
A couple of known issues with fixes on the way:
-Picking an active item from the chest while already having one equipped may cause both to fire at once, can be fixed by swapping your equipped item once
-Loading into the hub from the title screen, then returning to title screen, then returning to the hub can cause the title screen music to overlap the hub theme. Pausing and unpausing the game will fix this for now

I'm really excited for you guys to beat the game and see all of the new content, reworks and balances- come and share your builds and scores in the discord! I'd also love to hear any feedback, good or bad, in the discord as well as bug reports. While this is 1.0, there is still a lot of content planned for the future, and I hope the game will continue to improve for a good while yet.

☀️ This update also contains a ton of new items, bumping the total up to 250+, new enemies, a new area, and a new playable character! You can also recruit rebels along your path to help you in the final fight. Bonus zones are accessible for a chance to pick up more help and items, but are defended by one of the missing planets!
🗺️ The world of Asterogues has been improved! Items have been reworked, as well as chests- not all chests require keys now, but instead have different properties. Items now stack on top of each other in the inventory, and you'll be stacking up items more frequently- runs now feel very different from each other with very different highs!
Some of the hardest enemies and bosses have been nerfed a little, mainly removing some unfair situations, but the game is still very challenging.
The hub can be upgraded with various features that can spice up your runs also, based on your playstyle.
Also, many characters and items have received tweaks and balancing prods to make them feel better, stronger, and improve quality of life.
This game has been in development for a few years and I'm excited to finally give the 1.0 over to you! I really hope you enjoy it, and that the last few months of quiet while I pulled it together was worth the wait! Here’s a breakdown of what’s in the new update:
-New playable character Orion!
-New world- the Moon Base!
6 new room types to play with, and new expansions to shops!
Keys are a new mechanic that'll switch up how you play your run!
Difficulty- the game was frankly too hard, and has been rebalanced- a hard version of the game is still available with the hard mode toggle!
Runs improved- The worlds are shorter, and runs now include every world, so you can fight all of the planets in one run- or, you can take a detour!
Enemies- A rework of how enemies spawn, making things both easier and more fun. New enemies now available in various zones, and a new planet boss!
Items- New active item charge system that works off damage as well as kills, so now items feel more involved for boss fights- plus active items can be held in the inventory and swapped between! A rework of ice and poison to make them into fun item routes! A few new items, with another item drop around the corner!
General overall polish with ui, music, and cutscenes! Various bugfixes, improvements to different resolutions and hopefully performance!
Thanks everyone for your feedback over the past few months since EA dropped. I think the game has grown a million times better than it would have if I had worked privately up until full release- and I still have a lot more to add before the game is finished. The tavern is getting some new options for its customers!
Planet chests have a new item pool including some items that may have not shown up before.
The inventory and UI has been improved. Still a work in progress that will continue to be improved, but here are the new additions:
The graphics have been improved with new fx added to certain items. More to come!
Chests and item drops have been improved a bit. In particular people were asking for an option for passive items in the first chest.
An improvement to stop players dying after beating a boss.

Hi everyone- This patch is broken into two parts- there’s a retweak of playable characters and run difficulty overall, and then a sizable amount of QOL changes + bugfixes. Most of these are reported from Discord and Steam forums!

The main goal for balance changes is to make the game more fun rather than to make all the characters equally strong. The idea behind nerfs is to remove situations where the character is so strong that it no longer interacts with the game.
Pluto is getting some changes to feel more fair. He gets punished heavily for getting hit and some players feel like he doesn’t catch every bullet in his orbit. Pluto only catches bullets that spend enough time near him, so it was possible for fast bullets to quickly pass through without being caught in orbit.
Void is going to do slightly less damage while also having a slightly tighter cone, just so it's slightly less destructive in basic rooms and also can hit bosses a tiny bit better.
Hydra is going to shred bosses a bit less quickly while also having to get a tiny bit closer to infest enemies. In the last patch Hydra’s damage was boosted by crits being fixed on it, so this evens it out. Hydra also got a new method of recovering shields when fighting bosses but was taking little to no damage in return, so this was fixed.
Braniac was trivializing his own mechanics when finding certain items that changed his bullets, so these items are going to be less effective on him.
The strongest enemies are getting a slight tweak to be more manageable.
Freeze was leaving the player without much to do when freezing the source of bullets, so you can now melee frozen enemies for big damage. Freeze might be damage-tweaked later since it now works fine against planets.
Sun Amulet radius increased from 5.8 to 6.8.
Controller auto-aim has been updated to choose between nearby enemies better, and also comes with a strength slider in the settings menu. It will now also track jumping enemies or enemies with a displaced hitbox (such as enemies with a jetpack) better.

2 NEW ZONES AVAILABLE
There was a missing link after defeating Saturn that was not allowing players to reach the second half of the content. This is now fixed, so you can fight the middle planets!
SECRET 4TH CHARACTER AVAILABLE
Fixing the link also gives access to a new character in the later half of the game!
CURSED HUB SHOP AVAILABLE
This also gives access to the cursed shop at the hub, which acts as difficulty modifiers for harder runs. This is paired with 3 new achievements for completing cursed runs!
HYDRA MECHANICS CHANGE
Hydra is having a small tweak to its boss buff. Instead of preventing hosts from dying when firing its last HP against a boss, it now slowly restores host HP when fighting a boss. This will make it so you can fight a boss while controlling a stronger enemy that fires more than 1 HP at a time, but need to pace yourself a little if you want to maintain the host.
Overall, there was a focus on making runs less overpowered so there’s more interacting with the mechanics of the game. Players had an excess of money and it meant no real decision-making in shops. And blowing everything up with a single click was funny, but not every run!
I would love to hear your feedback on how the new hp drops and item frequency feels.

Asterogues is releasing in Early Access because I want the bullet hell and roguelike fans to help set the course for the full release. Through Discord, Steam and Youtube I want to create an ongoing conversation where you guys can help me stuff this game full of exciting enemies, items, and more.
In this first wave of cosmic chaos, you'll dive into the action with the first 5 zones and 5 planet bosses, not to mention 3 bonus playable characters to unlock! But that's just the tip of the asteroid. The full version promises an interstellar saga featuring all the planets, as well as new characters, enemies, zones, and gear- as well as that important final showdown.
Being a solo developer, I understand there's power in community and you can help in numerous ways:
