Tracking & exploring during your journey are getting a boost thanks to the brand-new in-game journal system and interactive, customizable map markers, all while diving in the sea is now even more immersive with a procedural update to the underwater world. Plus, you will feel an immediate difference with some highly requested inventory improvements, featuring 20% more space, an upgraded layout, and a dedicated map slot so you can carry more of what matters!
This update took a bit longer than anticipated because I was moving, but I am absolutely thrilled to finally share it with you!
Update to v0.11.0:

Added procedural generation to the underwater world
Added procedural fish and underwater life generation across the world (you can find marine life in every corner of the ocean now)
Added a new island to discover and explore
Added a new wreck site
Increased inventory space by 20% (10 -> 12 with no upgrade, 15 -> 18 with the first upgrade, etc.)
The map now has a separate equipment slot and no longer takes up main inventory space
Updated the inventory layout with improved graphic elements and added a dedicated button to open the Journal
Added the Journal system to track questlines, notes, and tutorials
Added a new story note and updated some already existing notes
Added how-to entries for workstation handling in the journal
Added a dedicated keybind option to open the Journal (Default: J Key)
Players can now add different kinds of custom markers to the map, some featuring checkbox functionality to track progress
Updated map UI (coordinates) and added the new island to the map
Overhauled the tutorial system
Skipping the tutorial now automatically unlocks all tutorial guide steps in the journal

A new wave of improvements has arrived in Under A New Sun! This update focuses on a massive overhaul of the ocean, expanded character customization as well as QoL and visual enhancements.
A Transformed Ocean
The water system has been completely rebuilt to be more immersive than ever. The sea now features realistic shore waves, improved sound effects and real-time interactions; vessels leave clear traces in their path through the water, and swimming creates ripples across the surface. Along with these visual changes, the buoyancy and driving behavior for rafts, boats, and ships have been reworked.

Enhanced Visuals & Performance
Graphics take a leap forward with the addition of Xe Super Sampling (XeSS), providing a new upscaling alternative to FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), while the world looks sharper and more detailed due to improved shaders & shadow casting for foliage as well as the addition of detailed, "fluffy" moss on rocks and boulders.
Personalization & Game Control
Character customization is expanding with now 10 different hairstyle options for both male and female characters, plus 10 hair colors, to choose from. For those looking to tailor their survival experience a bit more, there are now options to disable the tutorial when starting a new game or to disable snakes (ophidiophobia).
Quality of Life & Building
Building and farming have received several community-requested updates. Piers can now be built further and will snap directly to foundations (and vice-versa). Survivors now cultivate Ember plants within farming plots. Additionally, a 4th save slot is now available and numerous fixes have been implemented - ranging from co-op synchronization improvements to CPU performance optimizations - to ensure a smoother journey.

Added real-time water interactions (vessels draw trails in the water and the player creates small waves when swimming on the surface)
Adjusted buoyancy and driving behavior of rafts

Added sea sound effects near the shore

a new patch is now available.

Fixed an issue where the fabricator was not being saved and reloaded correctly
Fixed an issue where the wind turbine dropped incorrect items when dismantled
Fixed a problem where some save games did not appear because they were stored in the wrong folder when the game was not connected to Steam
Missing or outdated save files
If you were affected by an issue where you played for some time, saved the game, and later found that your save was missing or outdated, please check the following folder on your PC:
C:\Users\%YourUsername%\AppData\Local\UnderANewSun\Saved\SaveGames
You may find a folder there named “ERROR, BAD UNIQUE NET ID”. This folder was created when the game was saved while it was unable to detect your Steam ID - usually because the game was not connected to Steam at the time.
How to restore your progress

Open the folder named “ERROR, BAD UNIQUE NET ID”
Find the save files with timestamps that match the progress you are missing
Copy those files
Paste them into the folder with the long number as its name (this number represents your Steam ID)
If the Steam ID folder already contains files with the same names but older timestamps, delete those older files first.
The game only recognizes save files named “GameSlot1” and “GameSlot1_Meta” (or the corresponding slot numbers).
This issue should now be resolved. Once you save your game at least once (per slot) while properly connected to Steam, future save files will be stored correctly.

Improved some replication settings for the ship's extra cargo doors (sometimes not showing up for co-op players)
Improved some replication settings for chests and the fridge attached to a boat or ship (sometimes not showing up for co-op players)
Fixed snake sounds not being affected by sound settings
Adjusted one quartz location (not reachable)
Added a huge box under the game world that teleports the player back onto the map (if one somehow manages to fall through or off the map)

after 10 days the community survey has wrapped up – thanks a lot to everyone who voted! Here are the results:

Tech update: 35.6%
Fauna update: 22.2%
Building update: 21.3%
Flora & cooking: 20.9%
With the tech update clearly taking the top spot, this will be the next big update. The other three categories ended up in a surprisingly close race, with the fauna update landing in second place. I've also read through all of your added comments and taken lots of notes for further additions or improvements.
Based on that, here’s a breakdown of what’s coming next for Under A New Sun:

Tech update: 3D printer for crafting electrical components and other gear (some new and some that could previously only be found), electrical lights, wind turbine
Fauna update: a livelier world with more animals and new drone variations
Building update: general improvements for the building system, new plank structures to build, more furniture and decorative elements
Flora & cooking: more plants to discover and grow, craftable antidote, poison arrows, additional food variety and cooking mechanics
Islands / map expansion: more islands in various sizes with new things to explore and more wrecks that can be entered
Story: ongoing additions of narrative elements, discoveries, and signs of the crew (this point may not be included in a single update but happen over time together with other updates)
Character customization: more options to customize your player character
Miscellaneous: various quality of live improvements, expansion of the Fandom wiki, more diving sites and equipment
Keep in mind that some points may change over time with further development and that the order listed here does not necessarily mean that the updates will take place in this exact order nor that there won't be more additions than currently listed. And as always, any suggestions and feedback is very welcome!

A new update has arrived, bringing exciting improvements and features to Under A New Sun!
A total of 28 achievements have been added, offering new goals to pursue while playing.
The save and reload system has been reworked to allow much faster loading times – to benefit from this change, each existing save needs to be loaded by you once and saved again.
In addition, the world will now also progress further during sleep, which is depending on the total sleep time.
Life on the sailing ship has become more convenient as well: it is now possible to build an air tank refill station, a water generator or a fridge directly on the ship, powered by the already existing solar array that can be built on the ships deck.
For smoother gameplay, the watch is now visible while diving underwater, a crouch ability has been added (making it easier to reach certain spots or build with more precision), and the wire building system received multiple improvements, including a maximum building length that is now three times longer than before.
Update to v0.8.1:

Added achievements to the game (28 in total)
Reworked some parts of the save and reload system to achieve much faster loading times (this will require you, to load every of your existing games and save it new)
During sleep the game is now progressing further (depending on the total sleep time)
Sleeping on a ship while sailing increases the traveled distance (not linear - for physics reasons it can only speed up to a certain amount)
Air tank refill station can now be build on the sailing ship
Water generator can now be build on the sailing ship
Fridge can now be build on the sailing ship
The players watch can now be seen underwater
Added crouch ability (makes it easier to reach some locations or while building)
Swapped the songs played by the space radio 9000 (to avoid copyright claims for lets players)
Fixed items spawned directly on the ground sometimes glitching through the ground
Increased durability for food items inside a fridge (+50%)
Increased max length for building wires (now max. 24m instead of 8m)
Building a wire will show up in blue until the max. length is exceeded or the attachment point is not available
Adjusted behavior of wires during building
Added a pop-up screen when trying to overwrite a save file that is not the one that was loaded
Added info that bottles filled with dirty water can be used to water plants
Increased drag speed for the sailing ship for easier handling
Increased building distance from 4.5m to 5m
Novillium ore now has a chance to respawn

a new patch is now available.
Even if only a small update, this one changes quite a bit on the interaction possibilities with workstations, campfires & similar.
Some players have made it clear that they are not happy about having to throw their items (especially food) somewhere in the dirt and then drag them to the right place later. So you can now aim your view, where you want your item to be, and drag it out of your inventory. Although it is to mention that this only works, when the view is aiming at something near the player and by dragging it manually on the drop area inside the inventory, otherwise it will spawn in front of the player, just like before.
Furthermore, it is now also possible to use this feature to directly interact with most workstations out of your inventory.

Dragging items onto the drop area inside the inventory will now drop the item where the player is looking (if the crosshair isn't facing anything, the item will drop in front of the player, just like before)
Dropping items from your inventory by dragging them onto the drop area (not via quick drop) can now directly interact with most workstations
Campfire spits will now show ghost placeholders when you're looking at them (if you have a fitting food item in your inventory), indicating that the item can be placed there
Added multiple control remapping options
Added multiple gamepad (controller) control remapping options
Deconstructing a water wheel now returns resources
Computer terminals inside racks can now also be interacted with by pressing 'E'
Tool racks can now hold hammers
Increased torch performance by approximately 60%
Changed the rendering method of the planet orbiting the world, which fixes rendering issues with the clouds in front
