Hello! We received some feedback from you about issues with connecting controllers or launching the game and while we are working on fixing them as fast as we can, here you can find some examples and how to solve them.

1. Reminder: Adding new players can only be done on the Character Selection Screen.

We want to remind you that other players can join the game and select their hero only on the Character Selection Screen. Keep in mind that P1 (first player) has the power to Confirm the overall selection and also only P1 can interact with other sections of the game (other than mini-games of course!).

2. Problem: All characters are selected and confirmed their choice, but P1 can’t start the game.

The most possible scenario is that another controller is locked on one of the non-occupied slots in the Character Selection Screen. It is remembered by the game even if it is not visible to players.

To solve this problem either P1 or P2 (or P3) have to press “B” on the controller or “X” on the keyboard to go back to the confirmation question and press “A” on the controller or “Z” on the keyboard to confirm once more. After doing so the first player P1 can press “A” on the controller or “Z” on the keyboard to move to the next screen and continue the game.

3. Problem: I can’t connect my controller or my controller is not working.

Right now each player slot can be used by one and only one controller. You can not connect another controller to the same player slot once it’s already occupied – and sometimes one of the players can take one slot, then “unlock it” – the game still remembers the first controller.

We are also aware of the situation when the same controller takes two slots (this is not a common issue, but may occur from time to time).

As for now the only solution for the above situations is to close and relaunch the game and select characters one more time with designated controllers.

Also, if the controller is not working try:

a. Check if your PC shows the controller as connected.

b. Check if Steam supports your controller and shows it as connected.

c. Check if you do not have remapped inputs. Our game is mapped for Xbox controller (A – bottom button, B – right button, X – left button, Y – top button). This is the layout of the buttons shown and used in the game.

4. Problem: Steam Remote Play issues.

a. Check if players accidentally did not occupy more than one slot by clicking the “A” button on more than one controller.

b. Check if the host did not remove the controller of a player in the Steam Remote Menu.

c. We would like to remind you that only one player may play on the keyboard at the same time. Even if the host enables the keyboard to another player, both of them may use it simultaneously. Check the next point for a solution to this problem.

d. If one of the controllers is plugged in and responds, but the player cannot join - press and hold the SELECT button to bring up the Steam Remote Play session menu - once this is done, the controller will start working.

5. I don’t have additional controllers but still want to play this game!

We are currently working on adding the Wi-Fi controller which should be available soon and for now, we suggest:

a. Locally
Use an emulator such as Virtual Controller to map the keys on the keyboard so you can use the same keyboard to play with more people.

b. Remote
Each player has to map their keyboards as in the previous point but you should check whether Steam reads your inputs as controllers (see 3.a.)

It will be very helpful for us to describe the problem, the type and configuration of the controller, information on whether the game was played locally or via Steam Remote Play, and screenshots or player logs that can be found along the path:

What is Epic Party Quest?

In Epic Party Quest, you assemble a team of heroes (this is you and your friends) and relive their epic quest line by competing against your friends in a variety of thrilling mini-games. After their grand adventures, the heroes gather at the tavern to boast about their accomplishments in a laid-back atmosphere. However, it turns out that each hero remembers their role in saving the world a little differently. It's time to settle the score through a series of retrospective mini-games and show your friends who truly reigns as the best hero!

The game supports 4-player local multiplayer, allowing you and your friends to gather around, munch on some snacks, and have an unforgettable gaming party. While you can play using keyboards and gamepads, Epic Party Quest also offers the convenience of using your mobile phone as a controller. Simply download the app, and you're ready to join the fun!

After choosing your heroes, you land in the tavern and the game begins! It will last 10 rounds (in normal session). Every round presents a new adventure as players vote on different mini-games. Each mini-game offers a fresh and unique experience, cause every game is different, and there are two versions of every mini-game to keep the excitement going.

Epic Party Quest features easy-to-learn action RPG gameplay, ensuring that everyone can pick up the controller and join in the fun. Challenge your opponents, demonstrate your skills, and aim for the highest score to emerge as the champion.

Keep the energy high with the reaction system that raises the stakes after each mini-game. Enjoy humorous visual novel-style narration as the characters engage in light-hearted banter and friendly trash-talk.

The last mini-game is a boss fight – and after that the final scoring begins!
