We've recently updated the demo with a couple of new languages, namely Brazilian Portuguese, as well as simplified Chinese!
We've also taken a step back to evaluate how we are handling our animations, environments, characters, and other elements behind the scenes in order to improve the game's resource usage, as well as maintaining systems that can support the future complexity of the game in its entirety.
We've made considerable changes in many of these systems, and have already optimized quite a few assets, reducing their memory usage by more than half in some cases, and we will continue to optimize as much as possible as we work towards the full release of the game!
All of this however comes at a cost, which in this instance means that, depending where in a scene the game was saved, that save game may not load properly in this new version of the game.
We know that this is incredibly frustrating for those that will be affected by it, and we tried our best to mitigate the issue, but unfortunately, there was no way to fully accommodate the previous data into the new system, and for that, we apologize, but it was best to make these changes as early as possible to avoid future issues.
With these changes in place however, we are much more confident in moving forward with the development at scale as we continue to develop the full game!
