September brings a lot of things: pumpkin lattes, my seasonal depression, and big updates for Future Racer - plus a nifty key giveaway with the lovely Pantaloon as Future Racer 2000 is their game of the month.
Expect an overhaul for a lot of the story, better optimization, achievements, and some spooky surprises.
I also spent far too much time redoing all of their dumb posters that I used AI art for, way back when AI art was some strange and curious thing. I don't really feel comfortable with it in the game anymore - so Ive been swapping them out with things I found/made myself.
Details for the giveaway below:
https://www.pantaloon.io/news/future-racer-2000
and their publisher page for checking out their fantastic lineup: https://store.steampowered.com/publisher/Pantaloon
Im not a huge fan of 'this is an ad but its trying not to be an ad' ad - but this is not an ad. Pantaloon is the real deal and I just wholly believe in their ethos and what theyre trying to do as a publisher. We partnered up for the game of the month because, again, they're doing really awesome things out there, especially in a space that is so often unsupportive of indie devs. So support em!

watched someone play last night today (i know, its confusing) and it was rightfully too frickin loud for em at points. going through all of the audio to add classes (voice vs music vs sfx) is more time than i have today - but I *did* add a master volume slider that you can change

Hey all Big new patch. The biggest yet. Lots of changes, both big and small. The entire basement section has been redone. I watched a good number of people stream it - and even the people who liked the game struggled to enjoy that part. So its out! Well, still in - but pretty dif

Ok. 1.2.0 (note the new decimal point) has arrived. I worked...awhile on revamping the interaction system. Ive tested it pretty diligently and messed with as much as I could. It holds up, as far as I can tell. All the associated bugs *should* be fixed. Ive added a few other thing

There's an actual intro now instead of just being like, 'whats up its the game and youre playing'
And there's some other stuff Im sure. The last few days have been a whirlwind of terror and debugging.
much love

I changed the buzzer around in the last update to test a few things. I forgot to change it back. It is now...back.
I assume this will inevitably create another bug or two (or 7). If you find any bugs, lemme know.
To be totally honest, I have *really* bad adhd and it makes keeping track of details difficult sometimes (always). Ive created systems to mitigate the issues it causes - but obviously, some things slip through the cracks. Game dev in particular seems to be the - boss battle - in a sense for all my adhd tendencies so I just want to emphasize again that I appreciate all the wonderful support and patience ya'll have given me. Feelin lucky, if just a little tired.

Ive come to talk with you again.
Another hour, another patch.
1.1 did me dirty. Real real dirty. I played through it like....10 times and so far, the bugs seem to be gone. But then again, these are like MRSA bugs and the game doctor just came in, shook his head, and walked back out. Not sure how to take that. Seems unprofessional, tbh.
Speaking of unprofessional, yes this is the third patch Ive uploaded today. Yes, thats embarrassing. And yes, its just because I care *that* much. Some would say I should have tested 1.1 more extensively before uploading. And I would say, "Yes." before cry laughing until you got *very* uncomfortable.
ok. hopefully thats the last you hear from me today.

There were a few bugs - the second dream removed the ability to interact. That's the major one. And a few other smaller things that needed fixing.

Thanks to ComteJerod for catching this one. At the risk of boring ya - the rewrite of the interaction system in patch 1.1 *is* wonderful. But it unfortunately did not take into account a single *very* necessary object outside of that system. So that is now fixed. If you wanna com

As always, keep letting me know if ya experience any issues :) <3

Granted it doesnt seem like a huge change - but these are bigger lifts internally - and I think will definitely help the QOL playing the game.
Lemme know what ya think and keep letting me know what youd like to see and what doesnt work!

the little dot cursor thing would get all fricked up if you changed to a non 16:9 aspect ratio. that is now FIXED. thanks to asciss0rs for the heads up!

For starters, theres more music on the boombox. A few new tunes from yours truly and from Jacob Rubeck of Surf Curse. (https://www.instagram.com/jacob_____rubeck/) (https://www.instagram.com/surfcurse/)
So thats frickin exciting.
A few QOL updates -you no longer have to check the locked door to get the bucket to trigger - reading the note on the mirror will also trigger it depending on which is first.
You can no longer open the package before answer the phone - which may have caused a few issues down the road.
Mouse sensitivity and invert y-axis now work - so get all crazy with ya mice.
Some notes have been changed around, added, etc.
Expect a bigger update in a week or two - theres a lot of content that Id like to add/switch out.
And as always, please let me know if you experience any bugs! Most of the fixes here are only here because ya fellow players lemme know. if i dont know about it, i cant fix it.

A notification that was supposed to alert the player to press F to see in the dark was *NOT* firing. I still dont know why, if Im being honest, so I just added a different one. Because sometimes life's just a mystery. And so are bugs.
