🐛 Bug fixes
Hooded Skull NPC fix where dialogue and pause menu could cause issues with each other.
Quit to Desktop feature now working as intended.
Fix on all bosses that prevents block if boss and player die at the same time (also fix on corrupted saves with this problem).
Fixed so two Lalashi's can spawn after defeating the boss in the Giga Tree.
Missing Shadow on Stump whilst hovering fixed.
Added collision for the pond in the seed room from Catacombs.
⚖️ Balance changes
Prologue and Mirror Lake balance changes.

Team17 and Super Awesome Hyper Dimensional Mega Team have today launched Metroidvania bullet hell The Knight Witch on Steam. Fusing fast-paced shoot ‘em up combat with Metroidvania mechanics and deck building elements, The Knight Witch follows Rayne – the titular knight witch and part of a coven of superhero-like protectors – as she battles through waves of unrelenting enemies to save her home from a devastating war golem invasion and defeat the mysterious villain that commands them.
It’s time to join Rayne and the coven of knight witches:
As Rayne, players will explore the once peaceful metropolis of Dungeonidas, fighting enemies that have invaded the city’s labyrinthine streets, and wielding devastating Knight Witch powers. As the story unfolds, Rayne’s playstyle can be fully customised through a deck building system that includes over 40 unique spell cards, while opportunities to speak to the citizens of the beleaguered city via press conferences will present the morale challenge of telling the truth of how the war is going… or not.
The Knight Witch offers up a series of accessibility and assist options so knight witches of all abilities can help save the kingdom. Alongside an intuitive auto aim system to quickly lock on and destroy enemies, and a main story navigation system that points players through the city’s streets, there are a series of ‘cheats’ that can be unlocked that allow players to customise their gameplay experience.

Shoot 'Em Up Spellcasting Sorcery: Encounter evil foes and choose whether to wield Rayne’s magic or use her weapons and wits to take them down.

I have a soft spot in my heart for a game with a good twist. A narrative switcheroo, that drags you further into the story than you’d otherwise care to go. The Knight Witch is one such game, one I initially wasn’t too keen on but eventually won me over.
The Knight Witch is a 2D Metroidvania packed with light bullet hell action. It follows the adventures of Rayne, the fifth member of a group of powerful magic-wielding warriors that gained infamy by saving the world’s population from extinction, leading them underground following a hard-fought battle with technologically advanced golems.
Starting off, the game is slow and didn’t really rub off on me. The initial premise, a typical magical girl tale where a green (but passionate) witch tries to live up to the example of her experienced peers and win the hearts of the people, failed to entice. I will not hide my general disinterest in the genre; any fiction I’ve read or watched that fits within the archetype have been commentaries of the genre, intentionally subverting expectations.

With over 30 unique spell cards to choose from in a magic deck-building system, and Knight abilities to upgrade and improve, players can customise Rayne’s build to fit their playstyle, taking down the invading golems in the most effective way.
