Dancing Cube now speaks seven more languages! You can jump into the game in French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese :)
The cube moves. The scores climb. Your friends are planning their next move.
With v0.5.0, we’ve translated the menus, added controller vibrations, and reworked the score display. You can now keep track of the competition during a round, see who’s in the lead, and spot the powers your friends are saving for later.
The game picks up your Steam game language automatically. Prefer another one? Choose it in Settings, and we’ll remember it next time.
We’ve also worked on collisions, pushing, and size changes. Jumping onto another player should cause problems for them, not for your controls ;)

Each player now has an in-game display showing their portrait, score, multiplier, and powers. A crown marks the leaders, while small animations highlight points gained or lost. Blessing and Curse also count towards the displayed total, so that crown can change hands before the level is even over!
Endless Mode gets a fresh display too, showing the music speed, its progression, and your survival time.
On the results screen, characters run as the scores count up, stop when their own score is revealed, and the winners celebrate by jumping to the beat. Time to enjoy your victory… or plan your comeback.
Missed the recent patches? Your friends have a few new tricks.
The smaller updates since Update 4 have brought some extra chaos to multiplayer!
You can grab Invincibility, pull opponents into a Black Hole, make them bigger and slower, or shrink yourself to move faster. Blessing and Curse can also pass between players on contact, so bumping into a friend might be exactly what you need. They might disagree.
Endless Mode also received smoother music speed progression and a visual effect when the pace picks up.
Those additions were already available in the recent patches. Version 0.5.0 builds on them with new languages, vibrations, clearer scores, and plenty of fixes.
Here’s what’s new in v0.5.0:
LANGUAGES
- Added French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese.
- Translated the main menus, player and level selection, settings, in-game menus, results, leaderboards, and power explanations.
- Translated the level editor’s home screen. The editing tools and control instruction images remain in English for now.
- Added automatic language selection using your Steam game language, then your system language if needed, with English as a fallback.
- Added language selection in Settings. Your choice is saved and takes priority on future launches.
- Reviewed the English wording and improved consistency across translations.
IN-GAME SCORES
- Added a score display at the side of the screen, featuring each character’s portrait, colour, and accessory.
- Made the current score the focus, with the multiplier and held power alongside it.
- Added Blessing and Curse icons with their bonus or penalty.
- The score shown during play accounts for bonuses, penalties, and end-of-round effects.
- Added a crown to the portraits of players in the lead.
- Added small animations to highlight point changes, including bonuses earned through Shockwave.
ENDLESS MODE
- Added a new display at the side of the screen, matching the multiplayer score display.
- Made music speed the focus, alongside its progress bar and your survival time.
RESULTS SCREEN
- Rearranged score bars, totals, and rankings to make them easier to read.
- Added abbreviations and multipliers with a legend to keep descriptions short.
- Descriptions and points now use two lines, with alternating placement inside the bars to reduce overlaps.
- The Curse penalty appears in a bar directly below the main score bar.
- Improved text size, weight, and contrast to suit the bar colours.
- Characters run during the score count and stop when their own score has finished appearing.
- Winners jump to the beat, with their crowns following along.
POWERS & COLLISIONS
- Improved collisions and pushing between players, including players of different sizes.
- Fixed jumping and movement animations when standing on another player’s head.
- Fixed cases where changing the camera could affect the direction of a push.
- Improved wall bounces to avoid unexpected repeat rebounds.
- Improved ground and ceiling detection around other players and obstacles.
- Fixed power forces extending beyond their intended range.
- Fixed cases where the same power pickup could be collected more than once.
- Fixed player effect timers continuing during pauses.
- Corrected shockwave hit attribution.
- Removed the backgrounds from power, Blessing, and Curse images so they fit more neatly into the menus.
CONTROLLER VIBRATIONS
- Added vibration feedback for joining, readying up, confirming Play, and gameplay events.
- Gave taking damage, collecting powers, and using powers distinct vibration patterns.
- Impact vibration now reflects the strength of the hit.
- Important feedback, such as taking damage, takes priority over lighter effects.
- Vibrations stop when you pause or switch away from the game.
- Improved vibration handling when controllers disconnect and reconnect.
SETTINGS
- The menu automatically scrolls to follow your selection when using a keyboard or controller.
- Improved spacing and access to options at the bottom of the menu.
- Added a dedicated section for restoring default settings.
- Restoring defaults resets audio, display, graphics quality, and theme settings while keeping your chosen language.
- Updated first-launch defaults to use fullscreen and a resolution matching your display where available. Existing preferences are preserved.
- Improved handling of invalid saved settings and menu inputs when reopening Settings.
- Initial graphics quality is selected using your PC’s hardware specifications. You can change it at any time, and your choice is saved.
MENUS & CHARACTERS
- Once you’re ready, you can make your character turn, run on the spot, and jump in the player selection menu.
- When everyone is ready, the confirm button still takes you to the next menu.
- Improved the layout of solo mode descriptions for languages with longer text.
- Improved the layout and readability of the powers section across screen sizes.
- Clarified power descriptions, including that shrinking makes you faster as well as smaller.
- Renamed Playlist to Free Play, Infinity to Endless Mode, and Multiplayer to Party Mode.
DEMO
- Shrinking is reserved for the full game. The demo’s power description makes this clear.
- Level launches are restricted to the two levels included in the demo.
LEVEL EDITOR
- Decimal inputs now accept both dots and commas, regardless of your system language.
- Fixed commas being removed from inspector values, including values filled in with the time-sync buttons.
- Made decimal handling consistent across the inspector, current-time input, and BPM markers.
- Invalid numeric input is rejected instead of having characters silently removed.
