1.5.1.5 - Bug Fixes + Small QoL Changes
Bug Fixes
- Fixed issues with camera auto-panning to the wrong coordinates instead of its intended target (control groups, screen edge protection, "show me" dialogs, etc.) when workspace magnification wasn't 100%
- Fixed zooming with keyboard controls -- the project was zooming on an out-of-bounds camera position when workspace magnification wasn't 100%
- Fixed a bug where a delete state would be created and the delete sound would play, even if there was nothing to delete, when using the keyboard delete commands
- Updated tutorial preset: formatted text, changed wording
- Straight paths were disappearing prematurely from the screen if there was a long one that extended beyond the screen's bounds
- Switch initial state wasn't being saved when a performance was started then stopped
- Switches default to 'on' but when a sequence was started, they would immediately turn off
- Fixed color not being sent properly with logic gates
- LEDs were propagating pulses but not lighting up themselves
- Files in directory lists weren't being sorted on Linux
Quality of Life Changes
- Made whichever tool is currently active more apparent to the user
- Moved text labels on Points up a touch to better represent which Point they're attached to
- Cursor size now correlates with UI Resolution
- Holding ALT (either left or right) now supercedes all other canvas functions, allowing specific system-level interactions not to interfere with the project (Linux users benefit from this especially)
Special thanks to the Triangle Interactive Arts Collective (TIAC) for hosting a playtest night where I was able to bring Midinous and have fresh eyes on the software. These bug fixes and QoL improvements are a direct result of that event!
Midinous will be at the Game & Geek expo 2026 in Raleigh, NC on September 5th and 6th! You'll have an opportunity to meet me, play with Midinous through a synth, and interact with a ton of other indie developers/creators. It should be a pretty fun time -- VIP convention ticket holders get a free copy of Midinous if they show their badge :)
See you there! Oh, and, don't ever stop creating.
- Jae ♥
