Ultra Thunderball has a new engine
The whole game has been rebuilt from the ground up in Godot 4.7.
New: two-player co-op
- Pick CO-OP RUN from the start menu. A link screen lets each player press A on their controller (or Space for keyboard and mouse) to claim their slot, then press A again to start.
- Co-op balance: enemies have more health, waves bring more points and more enemies on screen at once, and enemies chase whoever is closest.
- Co-op runs have their own Steam leaderboard.
Framerate and display
- New FRAMERATE option: 60, 120, 144, 240 or match your display. The game simulates at the chosen rate and plays identically at every setting.
- Settings with several choices (resolution, window mode, framerate) now show arrow buttons you can click or cycle with left and right.
- The CRT filter and the death shockwave effect are rebuilt in one shader.
- Bullet trails, sparks and hit bursts use real particle effects.
Fixes and polish
- Local high scores are kept as an offline copy when Steam is not running.
Known differences
- Your settings and key bindings start fresh with the new engine.
