v0.18.6 - 2026-09-03
Wreckages
• Salvage the remains of destroyed enemy ships to recover valuable materials
• Ships now break apart during their final explosion, scattering burning debris into space. Sometimes, their inner core survives and becomes a Wreckage
• Wreckages hold new technology waiting to be discovered, with the Advanced Mining Module being the key to uncovering it
• Once Salvage has been researched, the Advanced Mining Module can salvage Wreckages over several rounds, recovering materials such as Nanomesh and Fragments
• Bring another player along and you can get an additional salvage round out of the Wreckage
Overview HUD
• Unlock a complete tactical overview of all discovered ships in a Subspace
• The Overview is part of the Attack System. In case you have not found it yet, the Fighter Subspace Boss drops it
• It can be accessed from the Ship Access menu
• By default, ships are sorted by distance in ascending order. Tap any of the headers to change the sorting
• Each entry shows the ship's name, tier and current health
• Your controls work directly from the Overview, just as if you clicked on the ship in the world
• Move there, attack, open the Command Menu or execute a skill, such as repairing a fellow player
• Use the middle mouse button to center the camera on a ship. Click it again to zoom in, similar to the space bar key
• Additional upgrades are planned for the future
Responsive Movement
• Your ship now responds instantly to your controls, regardless of your internet connection or where you play from
• Movement is now simulated directly for your own ship, making flying feel much smoother and more responsive
• Other players are now shown much closer to where they actually are, making movement and combat feel more accurate
General
• [new] The Command Menu (default is right mouse button hold) allows you to make the camera follow an object. The camera will continue following it until you manually move the screen again
• [new] The Shipyard will automatically repair your ship for free at an increased speed (it is just not visualized while the Shipyard menu is open)
• [tune] Server connections will now automatically try multiple destinations and cycle through IPv4 and IPv6. This is smoother than before and should no longer prompt the player for a manual override
• [tune] The Ship Access menu has been overhauled a bit, grouping entries by category
• [tune] cloaking state is now properly removed. @Henry
• [tune] item tooltip is now shown even with the Command Menu active. @--__--
• [tune] Subspace border is less dominant and scales dynamically. @TEN
• [tune] hitpoints bar damage indicator improved
• [tune] Added tooltips explaining how to get resources, materials and datacores
• [tune] Asteroids no longer drop materials. Instead, they are exclusive to enemies or can be bought at the Marketplace
• [tune] Asteroids will instead drop Research Blueprints for the mining tech tree (for now, to prevent pure mining players from having to fight the Subspace Boss)
• [tune] Corrected some server side movement code which could result in a position / rotation desync
• [tune] Loot will now show up more quickly over asteroids, fixing the wrong depth curve
• [tune] localization correctly inspired by @Murash10
• [tune] Ship drifting and more objects are now synchronized across clients (idle movement)
• [tune] Dash is guaranteed to hit the selected target
• [tune] ambient particles reduced while fast camera zooming is in progress
• [tune] Controller virtual cursor: adjusted movement speed
• [tune] Shipyard adding hulls will now place them at the end instead of the front
• [tune] Shipyard controller can now properly select and deselect a hull
• [tune] Shipyard hull bar allows you to rearrange hull order, which will also change the layering
• [tune] Blueprints show the actual name of the technology, not just the group they belong to
• [tune] A home Subspace now contains less dominant suns and planets
• [fix] using a skill will be counted as a strong action, resulting in the cloak dropping
• [fix] Skill usage will no longer apply calibration to multiple modules. @Wizard of Crafting
• [fix] Controller quick placement is now working. @Sparky
• [fix] Tutorial asteroid tapping works correctly even if the asteroid shrinks too much
• [fix] Building completion sound can't be triggered more than once in a row
• [fix] Queues (research, refine, upgrade) will now trigger immediately when completed. Previously, a 1 second block could occur
• [fix] Experience was capped during very long battles. This cap has now been greatly increased. @Ishidon
• [fix] Fixed a database corruption issue which could affect player data and Subspace restoration
• [dev] Upgraded to Steamworks SDK 1.64
