Today marks a very special milestone — Sobaka Studio is celebrating its 10th anniversary! What a journey it has been — from our very first dream project Redeemer to our latest release Remedium. And this is only the beginning. Even greater adventures lie ahead.

To celebrate this moment with you, we’re launching a special anniversary sale along with a new update for Remedium focused on improving the user experience, polishing core systems, and fixing technical issues. This update mainly focuses on the Journal system, music and audio improvements, and various optimizations. Enjoy discounts on our games and explore exclusive bundles from Sobaka Studio and ESDigital Games.
Remedium Update — Journal, Music & Interface Improvements
Journal & HUD Improvements
Updated Journal Design – The Journal now features a redesigned 2D layout with a new background texture and improved page-turning animations. Work has been done on a prototype 2D journal system using new UI widgets.
Improved Readability – Increased text contrast in the Journal and improved scaling of text on the map and pop-ups so important information is easier to read.
Cleaner Interface – Removed outdated references to companions (pawns) from the Journal. Unused buttons have been hidden in the Codex, and reagent entries were removed to simplify navigation.
Music & Audio
New Music Tracks – Added music for boss battles, dungeon ambience (Golem), new ambient tracks for locations, and additional music across several game areas.
Audio Fixes – Fixed multiple issues where music could stop playing or fail to trigger. Broken sound file references were cleaned up across the project.
Fixes & Optimization
Technical Fixes – Fixed an issue where players could sometimes get stuck to platforms (this should help with the issue reported on PS5).
Graphics Updates – Updated Xbox Series X|S icon textures and fixed lighting at the beginning of the Catacombs location.
Performance Improvements – Optimized CPU usage (tick optimization), improved overall performance, and temporarily disabled the benchmark.
Visual Effects (VFX) – Some legacy Cascade effects were migrated to the modern Niagara system, and several particle effects were updated.
Other Changes
Updated UI font
Improved control settings
Removed the cutscene in Act I to keep gameplay flow smoother
Added elevators to the castle

As promised, we continue to improve REMEDIUM, and today we’re releasing a new update focused on polishing key aspects of the game, enhancing storytelling, and improving overall stability. This patch makes your journey through the plague-ridden world more cohesive and atmospheric. We hope you enjoy it — and as always, we’re looking forward to your feedback!

📖 STORY & NARRATIVE
Key comics and video cutscenes (comix2, comix3) have been added and refined to deepen immersion in the world of REMEDIUM and its characters.
⚙️ GAMEPLAY FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS
Quest Objectives
Fixed critical issues with objective order and resets during teleportation and respawns.
Quests should now progress correctly and clearly every time.
Platforms & Transitions
The Tower and other key platforms now function properly.
Improved level transitions in Act 1 for smoother, more seamless movement.
Abilities & Grenades
Significantly reworked elemental grenade parameters (fire, earth, water, electricity).
Fixed damage-over-time (DoT) calculation formulas.
The unarmored movement speed bonus is working correctly again.
Enemies & Environment
Fixed the behavior of the Earth creature.
Repaired statue effects.
Restored proper enemy default states after level reloads, making combat tactics more predictable and reliable.
💥 VISUAL EFFECTS & ATMOSPHERE
A major overhaul of visual effects, including:
Explosions
Blood effects
Raven spawn and disappearance
Body destruction (gibs)
Elemental magic visuals
🎮 STABILITY & TECHNICAL FIXES
Multiple fixes reducing crashes and critical errors.
Added additional safety checks.
Increased internal limits for improved overall stability.
Attempted fix for the “Hold A to skip video” functionality.
🛠 OTHER CHANGES
Fixed level and respawn point names.
Optimized system modules and the Bink video player.
Numerous minor fixes and improvements for overall game polish.

It’s been a while since you last heard from us — but we’ve been busy! Over the past few weeks, we released the first SILENT major update for REMEDIUM, bringing huge improvements to combat, new abilities, and a smoother gameplay experience. And that’s just the beginning — even more exciting updates are on the way soon.

Updated Elemental Injection System
Fully implemented Injection Abilities for all elements: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Electricity, and Ice.
Each injection has unique effects and interactions, creating new strategic possibilities in combat.
Brand New Amalgam Weapon!
Introduced a new Amalgam weapon (Fire, Electric, Acid, Ice).
Each Amalgam comes with unique passive effects, critical damage bonuses, and can be upgraded through the Ascension system.
Added new visual effects for beams and Amalgam absorption.
Tactical Dash 2.0
Completely overhauled dash system: improved animations, camera delay for a greater sense of speed, and smoother transition at start and end of movement.
Enhanced visual trails and refined animation blending make dashes feel more fluid and impactful.
MORE Types of Grenades!
New Air Grenade added.
All grenades now feature unique effects based on the chosen Ascension path.
Updated throw mechanics: full-stop detonation and magnetic explosion.
Adjusted descriptions and elemental interaction balance.
Visualized Conditions
All major Conditions (Weakness, Vulnerability, Freeze, Blindness, Slow, Blizzard, Overheat, Static, Acid) now have unique and customizable VFX.
Other Improvements
Updated Alchemy and Armory workbenches (icons and alchemical consumables layouts).
Added new parameters for weapon parts.
Bug fixes, ranging from balance tweaks to overall game stability.

We’re excited to announce a new update for Act II of REMEDIUM! Our team has been hard at work to enhance your gameplay experience and address your feedback.
Here’s what’s new:

We’ve visually improved the Fort and its surrounding areas for a more immersive atmosphere.
Barriers have been added to the Fort and nearby locations to refine navigation.
Fixed map gaps where players could fall and get stuck.
Additional resources are now scattered throughout locations to aid your journey.
The Harpy's lock-picking mechanic in the village fountain has been revamped.
Final cutscene animations for Act II have been polished for a smoother viewing experience.
Notes have been added to enrich the storytelling and lore.
Transitions between locations are now seamless and consistent.
Fire rings have been added to the Statue Boss to make the battle even more thrilling!

Fantastic news everyone! We have today released a new content update for REMEDIUM via Steam Early Access! This thrilling new update completes the highly anticipated Act 2 of the game and packs in a wealth of new content to expand the world of REMEDIUM.
The new complete Act 2 update introduces two new locations—the Fort and Abbey—to the previously released Mine location. These locations contain a host of terrifying enemies and boss types for players to discover and engage in frantic twin-stick shooter action. You will also dive deeper into the storyline with the newly added intro cutscene, providing an engaging introduction to the world of REMEDIUM.

The Act 2 content update will also introduce new quality-of-life improvements, many of which were requested by the community already playing the Steam Early Access release. Some of these quality-of-life improvements include an updated and optimized transitioning system to seamlessly travel between game locations, a new upgrade to the save system so players can replay Act 1 or Act 2 (after starting it for the first time) at any time with their progress saved and with any weapons and upgrades already unlocked, additional balancing of battles to ensure a smooth combat experience, numerous UI and UX improvements and bug fixes and the engaging intro cutscene to set the scene of the carnage of Act 2 perfectly!

Following directly on from the devastating boss battle at the end of Act 1, REMEDIUM Act 2 opens a new chapter in the hunt for a cure to the Grey Plague and to your very survival in the world ravaged by hordes of mutants and chimeras. Armed only with their journal, players must navigate the snowy mountain paths and survive the onslaught of warring tribes of mutants spread across three village locations. In each new location, the blood thirsty mutants are protected by a terrifying and unique boss, who must be defeated in order to unveil the path to the cure for the disease and the survival of the remaining humans.
REMEDIUM Act 2 features:

Act 2 introduces three new locations with unique mutant types and terrifying bosses.
Discover the new Fort and Abbey locations as well as the Mines.
Continuation of the intriguing storyline of the hero’s deadly journey.
Players can craft new parts for their weapons (to further customise them and deal different types of damage) with the new reagents found in Act 2.
Updated visuals and player accessibility for an enhanced gameplay experience.
An improved upgrade system where players can now spend resources to become stronger.
Dash movement and Almalgams use have been split for greater accessibility.
Language support for English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Polish, Chinese, Japanese and Korean, with further enhancements to be added.
