We’ve just released a small new patch for Galaxy Highways, bringing a few new additions, improvements, and fixes to the game.
Here’s what’s new:
Added a German community translation – huge thanks to our amazing community of translators! 💖
Fixed several UI issues related to translations
Updated the Artbook included in the Artbook & Coloring Book DLC with various fixes and small improvements
Added new Jump Gate sounds – each gate now has its own unique sound!
Added a new Extras section to the main menu, where you can rewatch all in-game cutscenes and find quick links to the Artbook & Coloring Book DLC and the Soundtrack
Fixed a missing translation in the Boss Respawn window
Adjusted the loading text to better fit within the loading screen artwork when using languages with longer translations
A huge thank you to our amazing community and to everyone around the world who continues to play and support Galaxy Highways!

We're also working on the upcoming Patch 1.0.4, which we plan to release soon. The update will include:
Full German localization
Improvements and corrections to existing localizations
Various bug fixes and gameplay improvements
A brand-new Extras section in the main menu with ability to rewatch all in-game cutscenes
Additional quality-of-life enhancements
📦Physical Collector's Edition
We are also working on a special limited physical boxed edition of Galaxy Highways in cooperation with visiongame.cz – the Czech & Slovak Video Game Archive.
The release will be limited in quantity, and we'll provide more information about availability and purchasing options in the future.
📢Major Update Plans
We're also planning a larger content update that will introduce a brand-new Boss Arena game mode, allowing players to challenge powerful bosses in a dedicated gameplay experience.
We'll have more details to share once development progresses further.

We've also started development on a brand-new, currently unannounced game from Galaxy Highways universe.
It's still early, but we're incredibly excited about this project and can't wait to reveal more when the time is right.

Hey everyone!
We’ve just released a small patch that brings new/updated translations, and some bug fixes to Galaxy Highways. Here’s what’s new:
Removed the Localizor link for community translations (the service is being discontinued). From now on, community translations will be handled via Discord + Google Sheets
Added more community translators to the credits ❤️
Updated all community translations to their latest versions
Added Hungarian community translation – the game is now available in Hungarian!
Added a fallback font to correctly display characters not supported by the primary font (e.g. some Cyrillic characters)
Fixed several UI translation-related bugs

Hey everyone!
We’ve just released a new update that brings several improvements, new translations, and important fixes to Galaxy Highways. Here’s what’s new:
🌍 New Languages Added
The game is now available in five new languages:
Italian
Polish
Portuguese (Brazil)
Spanish (Latin America)
Russian
We’re also happy to share that community translations for Hungarian, Czech, French, and German are in progress!

👉 Want to help us bring Galaxy Highways to even more languages? Join our localization effort on Localizor and contribute to your native language!
🧭 UI & Localization Improvements
Fixed multiple UI layout issues caused by long translation texts.
Added support for translation validation and override system, allowing us to replace incorrect community translations when needed.
Applied overrides for all currently community-translated languages.
Added community translators to the game credits!
🐞 Bug Fixes
Fixed Roman numerals for levels in Chapter III.
Removed leftover localization backup files from the game build.
Corrected various typos across multiple translated texts.
Fixed a typo in credits (yes, we caught it!).
🧩 Unity Engine Security Update
The game now runs on a patched version of Unity, which addresses a recently reported security vulnerability.

🐧 About Linux Support
We’ve also spent time testing a native Linux build, but unfortunately, we ran into configuration issues preventing us from properly publishing it on Steam.
While we know some of you would love a native version, we found that Galaxy Highways runs very well under Proton, so we’ve decided to focus our efforts on other priorities for now.
We’ll keep you updated in the future if we revisit native Linux support.

After 5 years of development alongside our full-time jobs and families, Galaxy Highways is finally here! We poured our hearts and a piece of ourselves into this game, and we're incredibly happy to finally share the full experience with you.
So far, the feedback has been amazing. We’re receiving so many positive feedback here on Steam and also across social media. It truly means the world to us. Thank you!
What to expect in the full version
🎮 18 handcrafted pixel-art levels across 3 story chapters
Each chapter featuring a unique enemy faction from the Mantis species. Every enemy is little bit different and has it's own unique attacks.
🚀 3 playable ships, each with distinct primary weapons and stats to match your playstyle

Incruster – A balanced all-rounder with average HP, DPM, and dash energy regeneration.
Bulldog – A fast but fragile glass cannon with powerful laser attacks and high DPM, but much lower HP.
Arrowhead – A tanky missile ship with high HP and larger size, but slower movement, lower DPM, and weaker dash regeneration.
🧨 13 additional secondary and special weapons to create your build
7 secondary and 6 special weapons, each with unique visuals and mechanics including rail gun, missiles, homing missiles, arc gun, defend turrets, mines, blast waves, and more.
⚙️ Temporary level upgrades and permanent upgrades
Dock serve as upgrade hub, with each upgrade represented by a base building. You can upgrade your ship HP, primary weapon damage, dash regeneration, temporary upgrade (boost) time limits, continual reload and more.
Some of the upgrades can also be unlocked through optional side missions with their own unique enemy challenges.
👾 11 unique boss fights
Each boss has distinct mechanics, plus a variety of mini-bosses like various mantis battleships, space stations, and enemy convoys.
📘 A sci-fi story
Fully voiced animated comic cutscenes (with subtitles), text-based briefing dialogues and in-game dialogue during missions.

As you might know, we're a small indie studio with limited resources, and unfortunately, we can't afford professional translations into all the languages we'd love to support. But we really want our game to be accessible to as many players as possible around the globe.
That's why we're excited to announce the launch of community translations through Localizor and we invite you to help us bring the game into your native language.

We’ve got some great news for you!
First and foremost, we’ve just released a brand-new demo here on Steam. Compared to the old one, this updated demo includes a ton of new features and improvements, and truly represents where the game is at before release. Here’s a quick rundown of the main additions:

Scaled-Up Player Ships for better visibility and improved gameplay
Enhanced Visuals for all weapons and their upgrades
More Weapon Upgrades available in docks
All-New, Larger Explosions and other visual effects
New Parallax Scrolling Effect that helps reduce motion sickness
Automatic Switching between keyboard/mouse and gamepad controls at any point in the game (no menu visit required)
New “Snakes Hole” Level featuring a brand-new type of “Snake” enemies
New Snake Boss Fight
Boss Re-Spawn Functionality with the option to choose a temporary boost if you die mid-fight
Revamped Defense Missions
New Player HP + Dash Energy UI
Overall Polish and UI Improvements throughout the game and in the hangar

These are just some of the highlights—there’s so much new content and polish that it’s hard to list everything!

I've got some exciting news for our game, and I can't wait to share it with you all! Our game is currently taking part in the Steam SHMUP festival, and we've prepared a major update for our demo for this event. I'd like to go over the exciting new features we've introduced to our game, and I hope you'll enjoy them while playing our free demo. Here are the most important added features:
Settings and Input rebinding

We've added various settings for our game, including audio, graphics, gameplay, controls, and language settings.
We've implemented input (keyboard/gamepad) rebinding so players can freely rebind controls to their liking!
We currently support any Xbox or PS-type controllers in our game.
All settings are saved and loaded when players run the game again.
Weapon improvements

All weapons are now continually reloaded, and continual reload speed can be upgraded by buying or obtaining permanent upgrades in levels.
The weapon assignment screen now displays all weapons, including primary weapon stats and descriptions.
New upgrade/unlock weapon animations, including weapon tier display on the research screen.
Hangar and ship selection screens

The hangar screen has received a complete makeover. Now, all your weapons, including primary, secondary, and special, are conveniently grouped together at the bottom of the screen.
Ship information now includes both base and upgraded values for each attribute (except boost time limit and continual reload, which depend on boost or weapon, so we display "Per Boost" or "Per Weapon").
Ship selection screen has a fresh new look. Now, you can easily view both base and upgraded stats for all available ships!
New dock upgrades screen

In our game, you acquire upgrades for your ships by completing optional or mandatory objectives within levels. Now, you also have the option to purchase these upgrades using credits on this new screen.
On the upgrades screen, you'll find all available upgrades (dock buildings). Each dock building has multiple tiers, and each tier enhances your ship's capabilities, such as HP, primary weapons, boost time limits, continual reload, and more.
Upon purchasing a new upgrade, the corresponding building will appear in your docks, resulting in upgraded ships.
These are only the most important updates, and we've improved and polished our demo a lot with many other features.
We would love to hear your feedback, and we hope you'll enjoy playing our new demo!
