A new demo on the page
We have decided to update the demo because the previous demo no longer represented the whole game experience.
We added parts of the game that reflected the “icy road trip” experience better
Firebird also puts the accent on myths and legends, so you will meet a few of the colorful characters
You are able to choose destinations that will lead you to more or less dangerous outcomes!
To the new people who just found out about the game, we hope you’ll want to have a longer road trip with this short preview of the game! ❄️

Untriggered achievements: "The end of the journey" and "Explorer" are showing now.
Regarding the "Explorer" achievement:
- Either it is detected when you start a new game if you explored everything on the map in previous runs, and will also unlock "The end of the journey" and "Chernobog"
- Or if you have not unlocked "Explorer" yet, "The end of the journey" and "Chernobog" will be unlocked normally when you end the game.
Typographic corrections in French
Fixed the screen reader activation that was not automatically launched if the demo was not downloaded. Also, the screen reader will automatically speak after this update if you launch the game again.

Are you ready to embark on a rich and folkloric adventure aboard your Firebird? Are you ready to switch back and forth between myth and reality? All your choices will be important to your smooth progress in the Great North, without forgetting resource management!

Embark with Mariska and Vassilissa aboard the Firebird, in their road trip in the Great North in search of a lost village, prey to the dangers of these sacred lands.
These two young women are very different and yet! Mariska, a convoy driver in her Firebird truck, travels the snowy roads to survive. Vassilissa is trying to save her village by asking Mariska for help. Their history makes them who they are, with their own beliefs.
Their unexpected friendship will be put to the test during their journey aboard the Firebird.
Explore magical landscapes
You can explore the snowy landscapes of the Great North, from the industrial city of Norislk to the most sacred lands hiding legendary creatures.
Keep a close eye on your truck
Travel around the steppes of the Great North with your truck. Pay attention to its condition and the gas, and choose the best route. Will you manage to get your truck to its destination without succumbing to the dangers of this hostile land?

Last month, we mentioned during the Steam Next Fest news that the demo was accessible for visually-impaired people. We have good news! Not only it was implemented in the demo, but so it will be in the full game!
Why did we make this choice?
The accessibility issue in video games is still underrated. LudAccess, which specializes in visually-impaired issues in games, visited us earlier this year. Since we love to learn new things, we have decided to gain new skills to extend the audience of this and our future games.
What does this change in the game settings?

In this devlog, we'll elaborate a little more about using the map in Firebird.
When you open the map, you'll have a choice of 1 or 2 destinations. They are delimited by zones as you progress through the Great North.
First, you can check out your resources level at the bottom of the screen. From left to right: money, gas and truck condition.
Then, all the interactive choices lead to different situations! In the screenshot above, you can see a wolf drawn on the map. This means that we enter the wolves' territory and we might encounter them! But there are also mysterious icons that will give a hint of the place you're about to discover.
Finally, the deeper you go in the Great North, the more often you change zones. Slavic myths and legends will become even more alive. Will you recognize them? 👀
As you go through the Grand North, you'll need to pay attention to your resources, especially gas. The less gas you have, the more complicated your trip will be. And if you ever have an empty tank, it's game over! How to check out the gas level? When you pick a new destination on
As you go through the Grand North, you'll need to pay attention to your resources, especially gas. The less gas you have, the more complicated your trip will be. And if you ever have an empty tank, it's game over!
How to check out the gas level? When you pick a new destination on the map, you will have an overview of your resources. Every time you go somewhere, your gas level diminishes by 1.
How can I find gas? If you're curious and brave enough, some of the seemingly difficult choices can lead you to a jerrycan of gas! It means that the adventure continues.
What about the state of my truck?
Your truck has a general state. By facing bandits, having small crashes or making the wrong choices, your truck's state will deteriorate. The more damage you take during your trip, the more state points your truck will lose. Your trip might stop earlier than expected if not fixed! Maybe you will find useful resources to repair it.

Why did we postpone the release?
As we were almost ready to ship the game, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict began and didn’t allow us to release the game serenely, in accordance with our values.
