The Community Awards are a heartfelt tribute to all creators who share their work in AiDroneSim! As creating maps takes considerable time and effort, everything published on the workshop since January 1st, 2023, is eligible for consideration:
How to Participate

Any content posted publicly between January 1st, 2023, and September 15, 2023, on the workshop.
You need to respond via Steam message or other means when we contact you.
Ranking: based on popular use & critical reception.

Achievements For now, all the achievements are on the new maps. Check the dives and **small** passages to unlock ! Achievement are only for fun & challenge.
It's now possible to update a scenery to the steam Workshop. This is not possible for tracks, as they need to be unique for ghosts and leaderboards. For Tracks, simply create a V2, v3, etc. How to Update your map :

Subscribe to your own scenery from steam workshop.
Edit this subscribed scenery (you know it's the one from Steam workshop, and not your local one, because there is a "[Shared]" in the track description)
Upload it as usual.

Nvidia DLSS Available on the display settings screen for compatible GPUs. This can improve your framerate, depending on your setup.
Nvidia Reflex Available on the display settings screen for compatible GPUs. When enabled, this improve the controller-to-screen latency.
Video help when setting up controller axis on mode 2 (beginner friendly)
Fixes

Search box in track objects list
New option in contextual menu to select ALL same objects, even if not in view
Added possibility to delete user 3D objects from the sim. In the track editor, simply right-click on the 3D object tile to show the contextual menu. It is intended for users iterating on 3d object import (if e.g the scale is wrong and you re-import). For objects downloaded from the workshop, unsubscribing the tracks or scenes using it will unsubscribe (and then delete) the 3d objects too, if they are not used in another track.
Improvements

Improved performance for tracks and sceneries with custom 3d objects
Improved .obj textures import, now a bit more robust. In case of doubt, simply put your textures files (.png, .jpeg) in the same folder as the .obj file before importing in AiDroneSim.

Fixes

Fixed a bug occurring while importing some .fbx meshes
Fixed an issue with PS5 controllers.
Fixed some other minor issues.

Download Drones, Tracks & Sceneries directly from the game.
Hide/show all active user interface when flying with [H]
Improvements

Gameplay

Updated scenic trail map : more space to go around, bigger gaps everywhere, in particular in the forests.
Airplanes on cinematic mountain are now set to go to 70 kmh (from 60kmh)
UI

HUD settings are now available while flying, with direct effects.
Improved FPS display.
Tracks and sceneries are now always displayed in order : tracks first then sceneries, each in typographic order.
Misc

Cinematic foliage settings now display foliage details up to 1.5x normal distance. Beware of performance issues !
Low and medium foliage settings are now a bit more aggressive to reduce foliage details.
USB controller input : improved performance. Can speed up FPS on some configurations where the CPU was the bottleneck.
Fixes

Fixed some issues with automatic false starts after spawning on some user tracks.
Fixed some leaderboard display issues in the main menu.
Fixed a rare bug that could cause crashes when spawning ghost quads while quitting the level.
Fixed compatibility issues with CRSF Joystick . Thanks Felix.
More sensitive axis detection on MacOS, fixing some controllers issues. ( flysky fs-i6x). Thanks Mark.
Editor
New Features

Undo/Redo System. ( Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Y)
Editable Natives items : except for most trees, most native items on the map are now user editable. Delete, duplicate, move or resize any native item. Warning : With great power comes great responsibilities, natives items are often way less plug & play than the items available in the left panel. Don't forget to use Undo for any issue.
Groups : Group/ungroup selected items (CTRL+G, ALT+G). Grouped items will "stay together" even when not selected. Re-selecting an item later will select the whole group.
Mass Selection Double Click on an item to select all similar items currently in view.
Quality Of Life

Ctrl+S to save current track.
Contextual Menu : right click on an item for easy access to common actions, such as group/ungroup.
SAVE & Fly from the editor, then BACK TO EDITOR for quick fight testing without going back to the main menu. (F2). The undo stack will still be available after flight-testing the map.
FPS HUD are now available in the editor. While it does not map 1:1 to in-flight game performance, it's still an easy way to get an idea about performance.
Camera Position & Speed are now saved in editor, for each track. Useful when alternating between editor mode and fly mode.
Shortcuts are now displayed on most tooltips in the track editor.
Improvements

Improved Editor UI : Left & Right panel are now resizable.
Search box for the left panel.
Huge performance improvements when flying on sceneries with huge amounts of objects (hi, Kéhops FPV !).
In-Editor performance improvements on such sceneries.
Faster saving time.
Removed central control point on gizmo.
Goodies

A few new items are available. Check the smoke & fires to have some fun.

Rules

Edits and music are ok, but pick a music with a sharable copyright. (no ads on Youtube ). There are great resources like : https://ncs.io/
Choose any map & any scenery you want.
No overlay on the video, except for the pilot name or AiDroneSim logo. Short intros are ok.
You are free to choose your tools. Recommended for 1st timers : OBS Studio and DaVinci Resolve.
Maximum 2 minutes.
Minimum HD definition. (1920x1080)
We value pilot skills and video skills.
A Jury will vote to rank the videos.
Maximum one entry per pilot. You can do a new video, upload it, and send a new mail, but this will discard the older video from the contest.
See last years results to get an idea
Any participant agree that the produced video may be used for promotional content or other use by the AiDroneSim team.
Racing

Accumulate points by doing good times on selected tracks :
10 Tracks
For each track, at the end of the contest period, points are distributed as follow :

1st Place : 10 pts
2nd Place : 8 Pts
3rd Place : 6 Pts
4th Place : 4 Pts
5th Place : 3 Pts
6th Place : 2 Pts
7th Place : 1 pts
For each pilot, his total score is the sum of his score on each track in the contest.
Race while logged on the Steam client, so the result is uploaded to the leaderboard with the corresponding ghosts. Only valid leaderboard entries will count.
Modalities

The selected Tracks will be determined according to popular vote.

Same thing for the quadcopter models to use.
Once the vote is done, the Tracks & Quads will be announced on October 8, by a post on steam.
Try your best on each track until the deadline !
Deadline : 10th November 2022, 00AM UTC.

Leaderboards for concerned tracks will be captured at the deadline data.
Only valid entries, with the selected quadcopters, will count. For information, all the data about the game pilot's quadcopter are present in leaderboard ghosts data.

Map Creator

Leaderboards are accessible from the main menu or the end of a race :
Ghosts corresponding to the leaderboard records will race with you
Only an Open category for now.
Editor : Lighting & custom properties

New system of custom properties. When an object has custom properties, you can set the values in the bottom right corner.
Check the lights !
Sun & FPV Camera controllers. These are two unique items designed to control the scene lighting. For example, to get a night setup :

Disable auto-exposure in the FPV Camera controller.
Set the Sun intensity to 0 while pointing upwards.
Note : Dynamic lights are costly and spamming them will result in a significant performance impact. Try to be reasonable !
