How fitting that you play a cadaverous former warrior, barely held together by dark magic and a suit of armor - the perfect metaphor for a decrepit, erstwhile world, clinging to the bitter embers of life. You take that mood, mix it with the party-based combat of Diablo 4 or Darkest Dungeon, and inject some seriously brutal kills and gore. Available now, in full 1.0 glory, this is a seriously nasty roguelike.

In this major update, a new difficulty level has been added into the game. Here you will have the chance to encounter apostles from the Golden City and confront the ultimate demon. Other than that, we have added a bunch of adjustments to improve your gaming experience.
System Updates:
- The game is now playable on Steam Deck.
- When the total amount of Blood poured into the Blood Altar reaches a certain threshold, the "Corpse Activity" option will be added to the Ossuary - Coffin - Corpse Management Interface. You can pour in Blood to reduce the cooldown time for the selected character's Soul Crystal usage. The effect of Physical Activation is similar to preservatives and lasts for the duration of each exploration.
- Starting from the 4-Crystal difficulty, a new category of equipment called the "Exclusive Weapon" has been added. These weapons can only be used by specific characters, do not provide armor, but will offer additional Attack.
- The number of Skulls required to enhance a Corpse's depth of Memories of Bones at the Bonfire has been reduced.
- Items will no longer be lost when carrying Guardian Stones to teleport back to the Ossuary, regardless of whether an emergency escape is used.
- You can now loot Scout Skulls from Elite Scout.
- The drop rate for Blood has been increased.
- The stack limits for certain items have been increased: Skulls: 2 → 3 Gold: 2 → 3 Blood: 10 → 15 Guardian Stones: 2 → 3 Pickaxes: 1 → 2
Combat Adjustments:
- The difficulty curve for Heroes has been adjusted. Heroes will be a bit easier to conquer before 3-Crystal difficulty, and more challenging at 4-Crystal and 5-Crystal difficulty levels.
- Increased players' Magic Damage dealt.
- Players' Inspiration Strike will no longer be interrupted by normal attacks.
- Resilience bonuses for slow actions have been increased. Before 3-Crystal difficulty, enemies do not benefit from this bonus, but starting from 3-Crystal difficulty, enemies will also have a slight benefit from this effect.
- The Vagrant Knight's attack speed will increase with consecutive hits, with a maximum increase of approximately 20%.
- The quadruple hit damage of the Templar Knight in the Counsellor's Hidden Chamber has been decreased.
Optimizations:
- Optimized the tutorial of the game.
- Improved the display of the item quantities.
- The default intensity of part of the visual effects has been lowered.
Due to the extensive adjustments and updates made to the game over the past year, the current demo no longer fully represents the full game's quality and gameplay. Therefore, we have decided to remove the demo.

For players who can now vanquish all the bosses easily, it’s time to spice things up! And also, this is a great chance for you to purchase Corpse Keeper as there will be a time-limited 25% discount till 10 am on September 25 (PDT). Don’t miss out!
[Update Contents]
- Added two new difficulty levels that will require 3 and 4 Demon’s Soul Crystals.
- Added three brand-new playable characters that will appear at the Difficulty Level with 3 Demon’s Soul Crystals—Felony Prisoner, Vagrant Knight, Abbess—each featuring unique attack actions and traits.
- Added a new area “Counsellor’s Hidden Chamber” at the Difficulty Level with 3 Demon’s Soul Crystals.
- Updated the main character’s appearance (fully make over).
- There will be chances that actions with Slow Start won’t be interrupted. *This trait will be effective for players only at the first three difficulty levels. And from the next level, it’s also possible that the enemies’ attack actions with Slow Start won’t be interrupted.Please note that your previous game progress won’t be lost after the major update. If you’ve already defeated the Lesser Demon at the level of 2 Demon’s Soul Crystals, you will be able to start the next difficulty directly at the Demon's Soul Altar.
[About the New Difficulty Levels]
- 3 new playable characters—Felony Prisoner, Vagrant Knight, Abbess.
- New area “Counsellor’s Hidden Chamber”.
*All current enemies might appear in the Counsellor’s Hidden Chamber, and some of the stronger enemies will have extra attack moves, some even with elemental attacks.
- Added an enhanced version of Crazy Knight that you might encounter (small chance) in the Counsellor’s Chamber.
- Part of the flesh gained will become rotten, and Soul Crystals might become Dim Soul Crystals, these newly added items will need to be purified or transferred with special facilities to be turned into items you can actually use in the game.
Purifying Forge and Crystal Pile will only be available in the Counsellor’s Hidden Chamber.
- Besides, you may also find a special “Fountain” in the Counsellor’s Hidden Chamber that can lower the Decay of your characters.

To celebrate this major update, Corpse keeper will have a 20% discount from April 11 - 18.Please note that the current Challenge Mode is still in development and any feedback or suggestions are much appreciated! We'll keep adding content and optimizing the game. Please stay tuned!
And here are some instructions of the Challenge Mode.
After obtaining two demon's soul crystals, you can enter the Challenge Mode through the door in the left corner of Ossuary.
Ossuary doesn’t exist in the Challenge Mode. You will need to select the areas and slash your way through, starting from Level 1. The number of challengeable areas is related to the current game level (for instance, at Level 1 you’ll need to select 1 area, at Level 5 you’ll have to select 5 areas).
Please check out the map design below. Pick your route carefully and defeat the boss in the final room!
Many new events have been added into the Challenge Mode. And the previous events are also a bit different from those of the regular game, e.g. the “Coffins” will also be a special event in the game.
First of all, select 3 out of 4 corpses in the Coffin. The initial stats of the corpses, such as the Decay/Bone Injury/HP/EXP/Attack Actions, will be randomly generated based on the current area.
And you can only select your corpses from the Coffins, but will not be able to heal/repair the bones/apply preservatives here. These functions shall be fulfilled by other "events" during your exploration.In the Challenge Mode, there’s no backpack restriction. And you can change the corpses’ equipment whenever you want. The Decay of the corpses will be increased to a certain degree with each battle.
*Right now, once you finish a round of challenge mode (successful or failed), your current save of the regular game will be reset. Therefore, we highly recommend that you experience the challenge mode after a round of regular game is finished. There'll be a notification inside the game regarding this situation as well. Please rest assured that we will be working on separating the save slots of these two modes to guarantee a better gaming experience. Thanks!

-Replaced the "Inheritance Bottle" with the "Experience Bottle", with the effect of: Directly add 100 EXP to the corpse and increase the corpse’s Decay by 7%.
