Hi everyone! We're excited to bring you the latest major update for Two Strikes. This patch includes numerous bug fixes and significant balance adjustments for many characters.
Starting with the bug fixes:
Musashi:
Unfortunately for Musashi, we ended up letting some pretty serious bugs escape, making him a nightmare to fight against and sometimes impossible to beat.
Defending his dash forward was not triggering a reaction from him, stopping the DF animation, basically allowing players to spam it until the match as over. Since it would not trigger perfect parries as well.
Musashi was not reacting to Yasuke's parry breaker ability.
Musashi's hurtbox was moving after some playtime, making him invulnerable after some time.
When Musashi dashes back, if he is too close to the opponent, then it would not move him back.
Now, more general bugs
Fixed Yasuke's walk animation hurtbox being moved forward and triggering unfair hits on him.
Fixed Ayai not hitting another Ayai with the second heavy attack if the attack was launched up close.
Fix bug where Kenji, after being perfectly parried, was not being punished by quick attacks like Ayai's light attack.
Extended Goemon’s kunai hurtbox backwards to make sure that characters too close to him get hit by it.
Fixed when Dash Forward attacks generated a clash, the clash would repeat.
(Offline only) Fix parry input not taking precedence over moving.
(Online only) Removed the ability of Ayai to cancel their light attacks.
(Online only) Fixed the direction of the Blood VFX when Musashi died.
(Online only) Fixed that some characters were not triggering a second VFX when getting the second hit, like Tomoe.
(Online only) Fixed that the Shinigami didn’t have a lot of his sound effects online.
(Online only) Some character combinations would shift the initial position on the screen.
(Online only) Fixed the issue with joining rooms after changing regions once.
(Online only) Fixed hurtbox problems with Miyo and Shenyan
(Online only) Fixed that the Underground Arena and Secret Laboratory were not appearing online.
Balance Changes
This patch focuses on bringing some characters that are being considered lower tiers and making them more viable.
Hozoin
The old man is the one seeing more buffs this patch.
Perfect parry window increased by 1 frame.
Heavy Attack recovery is reduced by 5 frames.
Walking speed increased 10%.
Heavy feint sped up by 50%.
Musashi
The psycho samurai is seeing some nerfs on this patch.
Dash forward attack duration increased by 3 more frames at the end, making it less spammable.
Light attack is also seeing an increase in 3 more frames at the end.
Musashi cannot cancel his light attack anymore. It is a very fast attack that allows unfair mixups.
Walking speed
Baki
The strongest teenager alive is getting a good buff to his dodge.
Dodge animation is 3 frames faster now, allowing you to recover faster from it.
Kenji
This is the first time he is seeing nerfs in the game.
Light attack preparation is 3 frames slower now.
Light attack recovery is also 3 frames slower.
Kenji’s light attack has been a menace to the meta, being a great snipping tool.
Shenyan
Hozoin’s good old rival is also getting stronger, since he cannot even imagine losing to Hozoin.
Added 2 more rope spins to the heavy attack animation, allowing him to continue to get closer for longer, making it more difficult for opponents to simply move out of range.
Tomoe
Everybody’s favorite girl is getting nerfed yet again.
Added 6 frames to her heavy attack recovery, making sure she can be punished if players miss it.
Discord League
With 2 tournaments hapenning every week, one for US and another for the EU region, we finally got our first Shogun of the server. An honor dedicated to the best of the best:

From today until March 12, Miyamoto Musashi will be available exclusively in the Crunchyroll© Game Vault version of Two Strikes. If you want to master the way of the sword as him, now is the time to jump in!
The Crunchyroll© Game Vault edition includes full cross-platform multiplayer. However, due to console limitations, cross-platform play will only be available with the Steam version for these first 15 days. Starting March 12, the legendary strength of the resurrected samurai will hit all consoles!
While MIYAMOTO MUSASHI is included in the Crunchyroll© Game Vault version, on March 12 he will also be released on all storefronts for €2.99 (regional pricing applies) in all territories except Russia, Belarus, and Mainland China.
For players on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch:
Cross-platform play with PC and Mobile will be temporarily disabled for 15 days.
This means Quick Play matchmaking will not work during this period, but Code Match will remain available.
Important: If you match via code with a mobile player who selects MIYAMOTO MUSASHI, you will not see Musashi in your game. Instead, a random fighter will appear in his place, potentially causing gameplay issues. We strongly recommend avoiding this scenario to ensure your experience remains smooth.

Rematch: Players can now quickly start a rematch after finishing a fight, instead of going back to the character select screen.
Session Win Count: Players can now see how many matches have been played and who is winning overall. The win counter only resets when facing a different opponent in online matches. Changing characters will not reset the counter.
2. Bug Fixes
Fixed the old screen shake bug that occurred during sessions with poor connections.
Goemon’s kunai was hitting much farther than intended, making him overpowered.
Goemon’s kunai could still deal damage after hitting the floor — no longer the case.
Previously, only Tomoe and Kenji could perfectly parry Strong Attacks. Now, all characters can.
Hozoin’s Strong Attack block window only worked after he had already defended once. Now it functions properly.
Parrying at the edge of an attack wouldn’t trigger a perfect parry. This has been fixed.
Characters were being incorrectly spaced at the start of matches. Fixed.
Pressing a movement button at the same time as parry gave priority to movement. Now, parry takes priority.
Fixed missing sound effects when Baki’s Cockroach Punch missed.
Updated the character selection screen image to remove excess text.
AI perfect parry rate is now based on difficulty. Level 1 and 2 AI will perfect parry much less often.
Team Duel now defaults to 6 matches.
Fixed some of Ayai’s colliders, which were incorrect while she was vulnerable after being defended.
3. Balance Changes (Nerfs)
Tomoe
Strong Attack range reduced by 40%.
This drastic change was necessary because her Strong Attack could punish even weak attack whiffs from a very long distance. As a result, Tomoe players stopped using her weak attack mixups — an important part of her toolkit — and relied solely on her Strong Attack.
With this nerf, Tomoe players must now fight at closer range and make use of her full moveset. She can still punish whiffs, but now she needs to take more risks to do so.

Today marks the launch of Two Strikes on Crunchyroll© Game Vault, the premium game platform exclusively available to subscribers of the world’s leading anime streaming service. But that’s not all, we’re also revealing our very first DLC!
BAKI HANMA, the world’s strongest teenager, joins the Two Strikes roster with unique mechanics, a brand-new stage, and an original track composed by Ben Hung!
From August 13 until August 28, BAKI HANMA will be available exclusively in the Crunchyroll© Game Vault version of Two Strikes. If you want to fight as him, now’s the time to jump in!

HOZOIN:
Hurtbox for his strong attack defended recovery is now vulnerable to all attacks as well.
TOMOE:
Tomoe's dash back and the recovery from being strong defended is now also vulnerable to horizontal attacks.
LOCALISATION:
Fixed simplified and traditional localization keys for the story mode and profiling of the characters. Fixed also some other localisations.

I hope you've been enjoying the game so far. We've been working a lot these last couple of weeks, and after the amazing feedback from our community as we have a PACKED patch notes for version 1.0.2.
Buckle up because we have a lot of things to talk about.
Bug Fixes:
ONLINE
General Bugs:
Perfect Parry was not working well. Some of the hits you have all been getting should have been perfect parries instead, and it is finally fixed, making the usage of parry finally reliable. This will give a big boost, especially to those characters with longer parry preparation.
Inputs were being eaten while walking. Sometimes, trying to attack or parry while walking was not working.
Perfect Parries should have sent the defender to the Idle Animation. Instead, it was sending them to the weak or strong recovery, missing the whole point of the reward of perfect parrying.
Perfect Parry was not working after the first one. This would happen after successfully perfecting parrying an opponent.
Button rebinding was not working for the online mode.
The screen continues shaking after hit.
In the middle of arcade mode, the menus were popping for no reason.
Toggling cross-platform was crashing the game if the player was trying to come back from any single-player mode, after reaching Warrior Selection.
Character Specific Bugs:
MIYO:
Dash's forward distance was different from her offline counterpart. Adjusted to be the same.
Fixed weird hitbox allowing crazy long-ranged hits.
HOZOIN:
Hurtbox for his dash forward attack was adjusted to to get hits on low opponent's animations, like Tomoe's and Ayai's animations.
Hurtbox on his strong attack was also expanded to get opponents close or touching his sprite.
AYAI:
Her strong feint and strong attack hitboxes were expanded vertically to avoid weird whiffs from the opponent's horizontal attacks.
TOMOE:
Tomoe's second weak attack hurtbox got expanded vertically to make sure she could hit some low animations, like Miyo and Ayai.
YASUKE:
After defending a strong attack the animation was not the same as the offline version, leading him to be unable to punish some attacks, like Tomoe's strong attack, after defending it.
Character Balance Changes:
MIYO:
Miyo's strong attack got his jump back changed to be a lot faster, allowing her to actually react and escape some lunging attacks from the roster.
This also means that the strong feint was also buffed to fulfill the purpose of being used as a dodge mechanism.
NEW FEATURES:
Region Selector: You can finally choose the server you wanna play. We will provide options for optimal play all over the world.
LOCALISATION:
Fixed simplified and traditional localization keys for the story mode and profiling of the characters.
DISCORD ORGANIZED TOURNAMENTS:
We are running bi-weekly tournaments for Europe, North America and soon East Asia.
