I've been hard at work on Blood Rush but the UpGun gained a lot of popularity in Russia and there is an issue. For some reason, most internet providers are blocking or taking too long to answer the request from my server.

I overalled the DLC verification code and smashed it in a really short loading screen when launching the game.
I plan on adding more content soon too, a new map is on its way.
Changes:
Added a loading screen allowing for a better DLC vérification system.
Baked lighting for some maps.
Main menu is baked.
Lobby is baked.
I'm experimenting with baked lighting in order to provide a smoother experience and better lightning effects. This is taking a really long time because I need to rework every single model in the game so I will update maps on separate updates.
The first arena to be baked is Airsoft.
I took the opportunity to update some of the meshes and collisions accross the map.
You will experience better performance on those maps.
Better replication for the character movement and aim angle.
Better Client/Server bullet simulation.
The last two points should make the game more accurate when shooting.
Fixes:
-Fixed the ability to ban more skills on DLC lobbies
-Added a check for players that crashed when launching UpGun.
-Fixed the score not counting properly in team deathmatch.
-Updated the floor collisions on Generator.
-Fixed client side homing bullets.

Thanks everybody for your support, here are some bug fixed :
Shooting a dead player with the Shrapnels skill won't deal damage anymore.
The homing indicator will now disappear if you unequip the related skill.
I also refactored and improved that code, the indicator will be far more reliable and performance friendly.
Eliminating yourself in the Gun Game gamemode will now substract points from your score.
Fixed invincibilty exploit when unequipping the shield skill.
The notification thing on the Customisation button persisted sometimes.
Fixed an UI animation deforming the friend invite button.
Added a beta indicator to the title screen when the game is in a beta version.

Thank you so much for all the messages about the new update, I'm so glad it is received this positively!

Some infos before the bugfixes!

IF YOU ARE IN RUSSIA, sometimes the DLC doesn't appear to be purchased because some internet providers there are blocking my servers for some reason...
To fix that issue, try to load https://www.maxestla.com (my website), if it doesn't load, try to contact your internet provider.
If it loads, you are not completely blocked, but sometimes it takes some days before they allow you access to my servers to access the DLC.
Also, the game will be translated in Danish soon! If you want to help me and translate the game, be sure ton contact me on discord or via email.
Thanks for playing with me too, it was really fun.
(I lost every other match)
And finally, what's been fixed!
Some people received skins that shouldn't have been dropped (you can keep them, but I've fixed it now)
Public and private lobbies were inverted (I don't know how this happened)
The new gun game gamemode crashed if one player were missing its deck.
The event system crashed the game when reading an invalid date.
In some conditions you could receive points for assisting in your own elimination.
Some skill icons were not rendered properly.
The knife could be duplicated by inspecting your weapon.
You could spam the new Controlled explosion sfx.
The shield skill allowed you to survive some insta kills (like falling of the space station)
Fixed the ghost cosmetics not being rendered properly.
Optimized a bit the replication.

HEY! Long time no see :) I haven't had much time to work on UpGun lately (I was working on this game), but seeing players having fun on the game to this day really inspired me this big update. I really hope you'll like it!

NEW GAME MODE!
I wasn't expecting to be able to implement new game modes to UpGun but in the end, I managed to do it! The game was developed with a friend of mine who has now left the project to work in a big studio, and I wasn't confident about my skills to work on his codebase. Working on my other game, Blood Rush, the last few years allowed me to learn c++ and to get a much deeper understanding of the Unreal ecosystem. Without creating another complex game like Blood Rush, this wouldn't have been possible at all.
You can now play the brand new Gun Game game mode!
With this game mode, games are much shorter and you do not choose your upgrades, they choose you!
The game doesn't end until a player reaches the specified number of elimination (Default at 15). Each kill rewards you with a random skill from the pool, but beware, once you only need one more elimination, all of your skills are taken from you, you'll need to eliminate a player without any upgrade.
This is a game mode I wanted for the game for a VERY VERY long time. I hope you'll really have fun with it.
NEW SKILLS
New skills are available for you to play with! A common feedback is that there is not enough options to heal in the game, I hope to adress that by adding new skills to improve survivability.
- Health backup
Recover half of the lastest damage you took after a slight delay.
- Overheal
Your healthpool can go beyond 100% and up to 140%. You can fill you overhealth with any type of healing in the game.
- Shield
Grants you a shield point to cancel any damage burst one time per life.
New Free skill
Everyone is now able to play with the long slide skill!
Reworked lobby settings
Every game has to be set up through the lobby, and adding a new game mode was the right opportunity to redesign a bit the lobby screen. To remember, this is what the lobby screen looked like before the update.
So it worked, but it had issues relating to readability, quality of information and data persistance.
For exemple, banning a skill did not persist when changing game modes. I only used lunimance to display which of your friends are currently playing.
Lobby HUD changes
Changing gamemode in the lobby do not reset Banned or Default skills anymore.
Changing gamemode in the lobby do not reset the mutators anymore.
The settings now disables unusable buttons.
The default skills now displays more skills.
Gameplay changes
The controlled explosion skill now displays properly an explosive on your character.
The health bar now changes size to reflect your max HP.
The trail behind bullets has been improved and no longer lags behind (also belter performances)
Added 3 achievements.
Dealing less than 0.5 damage won't display 0 as a damage indicator.
The laser sight is now colored to match your team color.
The game audio doesn't mute anymore when the game is unfocused (it is lowered now)
Updated some other UI elements.
Added descriptions to the gamemodes.
Added a small camera shake when shooting.
Updated the way to setup a LAN.
Updated the skill weights.
Added some missing sound effects.
Optimized a bit the game.
Added a Dutch translation.

Optimized a bit the networking.
(experimental) Joining mid game now grants some upgrades.
New hats !
Here are some new hats you can drop from now on!
This update doesn't have much in terms of cosmetics, that wasn't really my focus.
Balancing
Lucky day: Critical boost buffed from +8% to +11%.
Local Buff: Buffed all granted stats by 5%.
Sniper: Reduced max debuff.
Fire bullets: The fire damage doesn't trigger immediatly anymore.
Instant grenade: Damage debuff.
Fire resistance: Buffed resistance.
Fire: Increased ground fire damage.
Other fixes
Fixed the smoke grenade spawning 2 smokes sometimes on the clients.
The grenade has a better replication system.
Reworked part of the customization code, this should prevent hat collisions from messing with players.
Life steal worked when damaging yourself.
Fixed inverted private/public text in lobby screen.
Fixed Local buff, not granting properly the multiplier when playing in team.
Possible fix for the giga score achievement.

Several things are worth mentioning on this occasion, first of all, new skins!

Changes:
In order to avoid changing the game meta before the competition, the changes are very subtle and specific.

Added an option to hide the interfaces.
The mouse wheel scroll can now be assigned to an action.
Throwing knives and melee attacks are no longer compatible. (picking one would cancel the other)
Eliminations with crampons now grant 250 points (instead of 200).
Player hats now appear on X-ray vision.
Fixes:

Eliminations with the voodoo clone now correctly award points.
Fire no longer collides with ghosts.
Fixed the soft lock on jumping.
Self-eliminations with event assets now correctly subtract points.
Rendering optimizations.
Reintegration of the "Guided Bullets" upgrade crosshair.
Fixed the visuals of galaxy armor.
Team colors in first-person view should now be more accurate.

UpGun peaked with 220 concurrent players last week end.
Since I did a lot of work in the last update some issues appeared and were fixed :

The sensibility wasn't correct when controlling a drone.
The sensibility wasn't set for the first 0.2s after spawning.
This was fixed the very next day on the beta branch. I took a lot of time to rewrite the save system in cpp in order to access it from the base classes of the game code.
Since I rewrote the save, your settings have been reset.
I took some time to also add a very requested feature, deck renaming.
If you play with decks, you can now rename your decks to easily find them.
Other changes :
- Fixed an issue where some players could not access mutators.
- Updated the spoutnik collision.

New content like,
A brand new map !
Discover the USS, the UpGun Space Station!
The gravity feels lower somehow, but still, be careful to no fall off to the moon.
This is best played with 3-4 players.
New mutators !
This update instead of new upgrades introduces 3 new mutators to spice up your games!

Low gravity (available in the free version)
Bring the low gravity from the new Space Station map to the old ones to revisit them!
Grenade spawner
You can now turn yourself into a living grenade spawner and spawn a new grenade at your location every 5 secondes! And obviously these grenades inherit your grenade upgrades.
Only knife
(by popular demand!) Take the Gun out of UpGun, and you can only fight your friends with your screw driver.
New cosmetics !
New cosmetics are available to drop !
I also made some changes to the game, here is the

Updated the spawn algorythm.
The sensitivity settings affects the controller now. (you might need to reconfigure your sensitivity)
Faster piercing bullets will pierce thicker walls.
Added a trail behind grenades, the trail will adapt to the team color.
Buffed the Pointy Knife upgrade to deal 888 damage on max level.
Added a small Valentine's day seasonnal event.
Bug fixes :
- Fixed an issue when the homing bullets markers showed up in the top left corner of the screen.
- Fixed a typo on the BSOD cosmetic screen (thanks to ZNS for the fixed texture)
- Updated Oil Rig's icon to reflect the finished map design
- Fixed a hole in a ceiling in Oil rig.
- Fixed motion blur option not being saved properly
- Optimized the particle systems
- Added the seasonnal events to Arcadium.
- The team names are now translated in various languages.
- Fixed "WaterCooling" not being really effective.
- Remade all the footsteps code with Easy Foot Step. (my plugin)

This week we are releasing another update with new content, new fixes, and balancing!
New skills !

Rifle butt Replace your knife attack with a hit from your rifle butt, way easier to aime, way faster, but it does less damage.
Heavy magazine Make every bullet count, each bullet contained in your magazine will add more damage if you manage to hit someone with it.
Shotgun fire Set enemies on fire with your shotgun.
Balance changes :
-IMPORTANT Killing yourself to get back to full life will now award you -100pts.
-Buffed a bit Speed is key. (+5% base damage)
-Decreased ghost haunting ability cooldown under 4 players.

New map
Discover our new arena "Arcadium" a real playground filled with arcades, an escape room and a laser game !
Face your friends in the tense laser game room and leave on top !
I recommend to play with 4 players on this map as you can easily get lost in the laser labyrinth.
New Skills
Try out new skills to surprise your friends !

Reflected laser : Upgrade your laser to reflect it on surfaces and hit hidden targets !
Piercing laser : Your laser can now hit multiple targets at once, each target multiplies the total damage.
[COMPROMISE] Maximum Switfness : Run really fast ! (but slow down is you get hit)
Long slide : Slide, but longer.

NEW UPGRADES

Improved piercing bullets Bullets that pierce a wall now do COLOSSAL damage!
Condensed Controlled Explosion Doubles the damage of your explosion but halves its radius.
Earthquake SLAM will throw nearby players into the air.
NEW COSMETICS
Notes:
-Piercing bullets now leave different decals on walls when they pass through.
-Optimized the rendering of players, weapons and other objects with animations.
Bug fixes:
-Y axis inversion works.

We are coming with a new regular update for the summer! And as usual, it contains new skills, cosmetics and various fixes.
NEW IMPROVEMENTS

Shooting decoy Spawn your decoy to shoot at your opponents! Each bullet deals 10 points of damage and everything is shot in a straight line. Make your friends doubt you and take them out!
Controlled explosion Explode at will like "last flame", but live! You will inflict as much damage as you have health points, after the explosion you are left with 1 HP.
Boomerang Your bullets come back to you, very dangerous but very convenient to set traps at the turn.
NEW FREE UPGRADE
Free UpGun players can now play with "Lucky day" and increase the chance of each shot to shoot critical bullet.
NEW COSMETICS
Some of these new cosmetics are available for purchase on Steam!
Other changes:
-Throwing your magazine now deals a lot more damage.
-The knife leaves a small mark on the walls now.
-Some interactive items now shake when activated.
-4 new achievements!

New cosmetics are now free to drop in UpGun and resell/trade on steam! Some of these cosmetics will be temporarily (2 weeks) available in the steam shop.
These skins are not droppable but are available for life in the UpGun store if you want to support the game and its development!
The screen actually allows you to see through the character (but not through the walls) and the armor vibrates while changing color depending on the angle.
You can try these skins in the customization tab!

We also took advantage of the update to optimize the game's rendering and fix some bugs.

Bug fixes:
-Decoys no longer leave hats on the ground.
-Fixed some achievements.
-Overhealth was not working correctly under some conditions.
-Local boost level 2 no longer causes crashes.
-Local boost level 1 doesn't make you invincible anymore (phew)
-Skills are no longer restored in the lobby after a game
-The use of the local boost could softlock the player

Try them with the full version of the game:

Flying magazine! Turn your moment of weakness into an opportunity, during your reload, grab your magazine and throw it at your opponent. The magazine defaults to 15 damage, but the bigger it is, the more damage it does.
Last grenade Leave behind a little souvenir. The dropped grenade uses the upgrades you have.
Sharpened Grapple Throwing a grappling hook through a player deals damage, equip this upgrade to deal 25 points of damage by running it through a player.
New available skill for the free version !
Enjoy a new upgrade even without paying for the game, increase the damage you do in the head!
New gifted skins!
If you own EverStopped, you will receive up to 3 new skins for free!
Armor is given to all EverStopped players!
Weapon skins are given to EverStopped AND UpGun owners!

The kill feed icons are bigger to be more readable.
New texture for the laser sight.
Using "Charged spray" without having ammo reduces its cooldown to 1sec.
Damage inflicted by the voodoo clone is displayed around the player who shot it.
German translation coming soon!

Some hats did not have a preview.
Some armor was not the right color in game.
Fixed untimely reloads at the spawn when it lags.
You couldn't have several extensions on the weapon.
Generators were not replicated correctly.
You could give yourself more than 3 extensions
