0.9.24 was a big release with a focus on content and quality of life tweaks.
I have completed all in game content for Campaign Mode and Date Mode.
The gifts are now easier to use than ever in the new Gift radial menu.

0.9.23 brings much needed game balance, new art and animations.
Thanks to everyone who has left a review or feedback I have made some big changes.
The card deck shuffle is more fair and dealers will now remove 2 x items of clothing if you win by:

The win rate is drastically improved and I am not seeing the losing streaks that have been frustrating players.
I also added a bunch of new animations, cloud saves and achievements.
You can't see achievements in game yet, but I intend to add a screen for this later.

Bedroom Blackjack is nearly finished and version 1.0 is almost here. I have some good news and some bad news.
Good News: I will release the completed game by 1 July 2024.
Bad News: I have had to cut some non-essential features.
Originally I set out to make the best Strip Blackjack game EVER with 3D characters that are fully animated. I believe I have done that.
However, I have been making this game for a few years now using my spare time and my personal savings. In that time it has not sold very well and I have fewer than 1000 wishlists.
I have had to face the hard reality that this game won’t so much as break even and I have almost run out of my personal savings to fund it.
That being the case I have made the difficult decision to cut some non-essential features.

Cards movement is now animated across the screen as they are drawn from the deck and discarded.
This feature has been a long time coming and actually required an overhaul of many existing game systems to feel good.
I also completed Kimiko's animated dialogue and made a lot of QOL changes to the UI and other systems.

Animation: Completed animations for Kimiko's Campaign Dialogue.
Mechanics: Increased chance of favourable draw to make game more easily.
Boob Physics: Slightly reduced boob bounce so that boobs do not fly around so much during more dynamic animations.
User Interface: Animated card draws, flips and clearing.
User Interface: Changed random gift notification to a animated icon that moves from dealer to "Gift" button.
User Interface: Added asterisk badge to tabs in New Game window to be more clear about starting a new game.
User Preferences: Added options for censorship to show mosaic on genitals for preference and Japanese online stores.

This release is mainly about making the "New Game" window easier to read and easier to use.
I also slipped in one of the most requested features to animate the dress/stripping of 2 x clothing items when using the "Double" bet.
I am surprised at how gratifying this is and I now "Double" my bet a whole lot more ;)

User Interface: Added percentage complete indictor to "Campaign Mode" and "Date Mode" cards in "New Game" window to show player progress.
User Interface: Updated the card selectors on "New Game" window to a horizontally scrolling list of cards to make better use of screen space.
User Interface: Increased the size of cards on "New Game" window to make it easier to read.
User Interface: Added yellow outline to card selectors on "New Game" window to better highlight the selected card.
User Interface: Added header text for each tab int he "New Game" window for more clarity
Bug Fixes

User Interface: Fixed dead zones where mouse hover and mouse click does not work when selecting cards in "New Game" window.

It has been a challenging year for me, but I never stopped working on the game these last 6 months.
The good news I have a lot to share with you. I have added a bunch of features and overhauled much of the user interface.

I am proud to announce that all game systems have now been added to the game. The game is officially in BETA!!!
In this release I added the new Photo Mode where you can take photos of the dealers after successfully stripping them in Campaign or Date Mode.
This is the most requested feature of the whole game and I am sure this will make the community happy.
I also added some dialogue for Shana, a lot of polish and some Quality Of Life changes like the Love Heart Progress meter so you easy to tell how close you are to stripping the dealers completely nude. You're welcome :)

In this release I completely rebuilt the inventory system, added the Shop and included a new camera mode.
There is now only 1 big milestone between me and BETA. I will start work on the Photo Mode soon.

You can now purchase gifts, outfits and poses from the Shop.
I made sure that this system was easily extendable and it should be easy to import more content in future.
Orbit Camera
You can now rotate/zoom the camera around the dealer as she undresses and appreciate her from all angles.
This is one of the most requested features and it is a solid start in the Photo Mode.

Outfits: Added Nurse Uniform outfit
Outfits: Added Virgin Killer Sweater outfit
Mechanics: New mode to orbit the camera around the dealer to appreciate her from all angles.
Mechanics: Changed the playing deck to consist of 8 decks to make card draw more fair.

Unfortunately I was not able to release a patch in May as intended due to some personal strife IRL.
However, progress is moving along quite well.
Shop
I have almost completed the Shop that has been "Coming Soon" forever.
Despite rigorous planning I did not anticipate having to tear down the existing Inventory and Gift systems.
But I did it. And it's GREAT!
The shop now shows items available for purchase as well as items you already have in your inventory.
One easy place that tells you what you have and what you "could" have.
I can easily make items available in this screen in future as the 3D artist delivers more outfits and as I introduce more gifts.
I have even built in support for Poses. More on this later.
The final part I am working on is allowing you to select the purchased outfits from the game wizard.
Game Saves
The changes to the Inventory system have broken the save files :(
I am working hard to preserve your existing save files so you do not lose any progress.
Voice Acting
I have completed the system that can play voice clips through dialogue and in respond to game events e.g. Win, Lose, Push, etc.
I am currently working with voice actors to bring the various characters to life.
More on this soon.
Photo Mode
As soon as the Shop is finished I will begin work on the Photo Mode.
This is the last big feature planned for Bedroom Blackjack.
That's right! Bedroom Blackjack should officially be in BETA by July 2022!
Animation Assets
Unfortunately, the animator I hired to make the remaining stripping animations has come on some hard times.
Regrettably they are unable to deliver any animations at all.
We are parting on good terms and I wish them all the best.
I will begin the hiring process for a new animator soon.
3D Art Outfits
I am expecting 2 x new outfits very soon from the 3D artist that will be available in the Shop.

Nurse Outfit
Virgin Killer Sweater
These are just a couple of the many outfits that have been designed greenlit for modelling.
NOTE: The art in the screenshot is just placeholder art until the outfits are complete.
Release Delay
Sadly I cannot send out a new patch until I resolve the game save issues and allow you to select the purchased outfits.
I am not sure when this might be available, but I am working every spare minute to make this happen ASAP.

In this release I have completed the Appetite mechanic to act as a cooldown for giving gifts to dealers and laid the groundwork for upcoming voice acting.
Appetite
Gifts can only be given if the dealer has an appetite for food or drink as shown in the bottom left corner.
This is a dating sim feature that ties in with the play deck and cheating a little to give you an edge.
Gifts are only usable in Campaign Mode and Date Mode.
Voice Clips
I spent some time adding the feature to play voice clips when viewing visual novel dialogue and when the dealer speaks in a speech bubble.
There are no voice clips available yet, but I have begun auditions for voice acting.
Watch this space.

Mechanics: You can only feed a dealer a food gift when she is hungry.
Mechanics: You can only feed a dealer a drink gift when she is thirsty.
User Interface: Dealer will tell you if she is not hungry or thirsty.
User Interface: Appetite icons fill up for hunger and thirst when a gift is used.
User Interface: Appetite icons become empty when a hand is played without using a gift.
User Interface: Tooltip over appetite icons will tell you if the dealer is hungry or thirsty.
User Interface: Only gifts you have in your inventory will be displayed when the Gift button is pressed.

Next I will animate card draw and card flips.
I have also added 2 x frequently requested features.
Side Bet: Double
The side bet "Double" will earn you double the money in Casino Mode if you have the money to cover the bet.
In Campaign Mode and Date Mode the dealer will remove 2 x items of clothing.
However, if you lose the dealer will put 2 x items of clothing back on.
Be careful when using this side bet. It can be your salvation or your doom.
Game Save: Resume Undress
When you load a save game now the level of undress will be restored.
If you got the dealer down to her panties before you quit then then the next time you load the game she will be stripped down to her panties just as you left her.

As a game still in Early Access it is expected that there are some missing features and a few bugs.
I work very hard at listening to feedback/bug reports to quickly fix any issues that are raised.
I really do value your time and I want you to enjoy Bedroom Blackjack.
Refund policy
There have been a small number of refunds.
Most of these people have simply refunded the game without leaving me feedback.
If you have refunded the game I am sorry you did not enjoy it and while I respect your right to a refund I'd really like the opportunity to talk to you.
A quick conversation about the bug or your disappointment allows me to actually fix it.
Sometimes I am not aware of a bug or your expectations for Bedroom Blackjack. I cannot fix what I do not know.
So let's talk.
What I can do
Here is what I am going to do improve in future.
Gameplay Video
A few people have mentioned that the game was not what they expected so I will make a gameplay video that shows off the real gameplay experience.
This will be an honest and realistic view of the gameplay experience.
This will be ready soon.
Demo
I am currently looking into releasing a free to play demo.
There is no better way to give someone an idea of what to gameplay expect than to actually play a small piece of it.
However, the game was never designed to be partially consumed so it might take some fiddling to make a demo work.
I'll let you know once I know more.
Splash Screen
I will add a new screen to the game that outlines what Early Access means and a little about how to provide feedback.
This will be in the next release.
Bug Reporter
Going out of your way to write a bug report can be a lot of effort. I know.
I am going to try and build a convenient button into the game that takes a screenshot and allows you to enter a brief description of the bug and sends it to me.
I don't quite know when this will be ready.
What you can do
This is not a one sided process. You are included too and you can make a real difference to the game.
You can report bugs or request a feature or outfit.
Bug report
Bug reports are extremely useful for me.
I do have crash reports that I can read and decode, but it is a whole lot easier if you contact me and let me know a few things

A brief description of the bug you experienced and the behaviour you observed. e.g. Natsu keeps dealing cards to herself until the game crashes.
Steps I can follow to reproduce the bug. e.g. Press the "Deal" button and then press the "Esc" key before the first card is dealt.

March 2022 Update
Welcome to March! The original plan was to have bedroom Blackjack completed by now. While the project has come a long way my development milestones have been slipping a little. There have been some unanticipated delays and the game has increased in scope a little since it's launc

Release 0.9.11
In this release I completed Natsu's dialogue and animations for Campaign Mode. I also added some settings for difficulty including a new Easy Mode. If you want to play in Easy Mode you will need to start a new game. Gifts are available after 3 x losses in a row which is a "Losing
In this release I completed Natsu's dialogue and animations for Campaign Mode.
I also added some settings for difficulty including a new Easy Mode.
If you want to play in Easy Mode you will need to start a new game.
Gifts are available after 3 x losses in a row which is a "Losing Streak".
If you find that the cards are being unkind then use a gift to tip the odds in your favour by manipulating the card draw.

Cappuccino - Dealer cannot draw cards to prevent them from getting a higher score than you.
Fruit Drink - Dealer must draw one card before revealing their hidden card to increase the chance they bust.
Improvements

Difficulty: Added an Easy Mode.
Mechanics: Added Gifts to give to dealer to tip the odds in your favour.
User Interface: Added Gift button that opens gift inventory.
AI: Changed the dealer always hit until 17 (Normal), 16 (Easy)
Animation: Dealers will shrug instead of celebrate on PUSH.
Dialogue: Completed dialogue with full animation for Natsu's Campaign Mode.
Performance: Miscellaneous performance changes
Bug Fixes

User Interface: A unique deck will be used for each dealer.
From here I am going to double down on completing the Campaign Mode with new bedrooms, new stripping animations and finally introduce the Mistress Of Cards and bring the story to a satisfying close.

Improvements

Dialogue: Adjusted camera position and zoom to show dealers from a more flattering angle.
Dialogue: Add Clara's campaign dialogue.
Dialogue: Add Emily's campaign dialogue.
Dialogue: Add Kimiko's campaign dialogue.
Dialogue: Add Madison's campaign dialogue.
Animation: Clara's Campaign Dialogue is completely animated.
User Interface: Shake the winning card hand to clearly show which hand won.
User Interface: Fade out the player's winnings.
Bug Fixes

Game Saves: Progress is saved whenever a new game session is started.
Game Saves: Game saves after defeating the final dealer in Campaign Mode.
Game Saves: Player will not get stuck when restoring a save game after losing all money in Campaign Mode.

Here are bug fixes and some critical game balance changes so that AI and card shuffling is more fair.
You will find that you win more often now.
Improvements

Mechanics: Added an extra step of randmomisation when shuffling to make card draw more fair.
Mechanics: Changed the playing deck to consist of at least 4 decks to make card draw more fair.
Mechanics: Forced shuffle when 20% of the playing deck is reached.
User Interface: Dealer will always reveal second card.
User Interface: Clicking a side button when the window is already open will close that window.
Performance: Reduced required memory to run the game.
Settings: Apply Audio preferences as the sliders are changed.
Audio: Removed the annoying sound effect when you lose a hand.
Bug Fixes

Artificial Intelligence: Fixed bug where dealer sometimes did not hit on 17.
Game Saves: The correct dealer will be loaded when continuing a Campaign Mode from the Main Menu
User Interface: Hide the game mode and character from bottom right of screen when playing dialogue.
My goal for November is to implement gifts that you can give to the dealers to influence the card draw.
This should give you a slight edge on the dealers and reduce the difficulty even more.
