It is accomplished! We dismiss you into a world where surviving the scorching sun's intense blaze and the night's paralysing chill is paramount. A world where terror has many legs and indolence brings an undignified and swift end.
With the 1.0 release, you will find an area of mysterious machinery hidden among mountain peaks and a leather scroll that holds a plan for you. But be wary, for what you have encountered so far has only been a small taste of an enemy bound to put terror into your hearts. Nonetheless, you will have to confront him if you want to escape! This time, you have all you need to end your journey and say: I survived.
In addition to the new features that the full release has in store for you, we don't want to deprive you of the fact that we have incorporated a few fixes and optimisations into the game that will improve the fluidity and enjoyment of the game experience.

Oil is not only expensive, but it also burns well. Especially if an alien gets roasted in the process. To prevent the panicking creatures from accidentally knocking you over, you now have an extremely useful dodge ability.
In order for you to apply both of these in practice, there are a few additional new corners that you can explore.

Starting today, the Survival Sale is kicking off, once again featuring diverse survival stories to play and Starsand is delighted to be a part of the action.
Starsand is inspired by a real-life story that took place in the Sahara Desert in the mid-90s. We have built a "what if" story from the dramatic real events and garnished it with plenty of challenges!
You will also encounter the diversity mentioned above in Starsand, but this diversity has already established itself in the desert and treats you as the non-indigenous species, so be prepared!

But beware, the little rascals now have support from another creature and it is trying to diminish your digital life expectancy in little time.
We also packed some fixes into the game, and we hope that Starsand is taking the right path towards your goal of survival! (But still, don't forget to save as often as you can, if you know what I mean...)

The nights in Starsand are cold and unwelcoming. That's when you like to lie down beside a fire and dream away. The last dream, however, was strange, as strange as this place.
Shortly after you had fallen asleep, you woke up in this dream, " roused " by strange noises from the depths of the desert. You got up and took a few steps, only to be horrified to realise that one of your nasty alien friends was shooting towards you at ludicrous speed! In a flash, you prepared to fight, but then the weirdest thing happened.
It stopped, dropped a small box in front of you, made an almost incomprehensible noise that sounded like "Play!" or something like that. Then it disappeared as quickly as it had arrived.
It was then that you truly awoke, and with it the revelation that you can now play Starsand with a Steam Deck!
We hope you've already picked up a copy, and we hope you enjoy this version of our game.

You may be surprised now, but sandboarding is real, the Nazaré is called Monte Kaolino or Pilat and we thought a little sand sport would keep your blood pumping going.

Don't panic!
It's not an enormous worm that wants to eat you for breakfast. That's what sandipedes or crocodiles are for! No, they are beetles that you can catch and keep in a terrarium (also new!). Consider them a substitute for the TV program since you've been involuntarily stranded on Starsand. There's even an extra album for the little rascals.
You can retrieve the insects out of the sand with a special tool. Gotta catch 'em all!
Of more practical use (unless you're a fan of binge-bug-watching) are the new modules for your clay shelter, allowing you to build a tower!
