Discipline in kung fu takes many forms. For centuries, masters have trained not only with their fists, but with the humble bamboo stick: a weapon of precision, reach, and flow. 🌿
Today, I’m proud to bring that tradition into *Crazy Kung Fu*. With the **Bamboo Sticks Update**, you can now take on most levels wielding dual sticks instead of your hands and bracers. A new challenge, a new rhythm, and a new way to test your skill.
Whether you’re blocking lightning-fast strikes or landing your own combos, the bamboo sticks demand accuracy and speed. They offer power, but also responsibility: control is everything.
What’s new:
Bamboo Sticks Gameplay — Play most levels with bamboo sticks instead of hands or bracers, they are in the MODS section.
New Challenges — Striking and blocking with sticks introduces fresh timing and spacing.
Immersive Feel — Train like martial artists have for generations, with precision tools instead of fists.

This update also includes a few fixes, thanks to those who helped me track them down:

Fixed issue where in some instances in Train Tier 3 stats would displaying many more mistakes than you had actually made. Sorry about that! (Thanks to Zorro and The_Raven_Child).
Fixed a similar issue where in some instances stats would display more total appeared punches/blocks than had actually appeared during the level. Making it impossible to get 100%! 😱
Removed the ankward ending to levels when the dummy arms are no longer interactable on the last few seconds as it cools down.
Revised some logic in the multiplayer session list so that when a session is available/unavailable the list updates much faster.
Various other quality of life improvements, small things but still important. ❤️
What's next: I'm working on private sessions so that you can sync up with friends more easily!

Currently one game mode only: COMPETE. Engage in thrilling 1-minute rounds against other players. Be the first to win 3 rounds to claim victory. But here's the twist: the losing player of the current round gets to send random mods (arrows, pads or speed) to the other player for an added challenge.

📄Tailor Your Sessions: Customize your multiplayer experience by creating your own session. Choose the number of arms and whether they should be double-sided. You can also filter and join existing sessions or select from the session list.
🔴Get the Party Started: When you create a session, a ping will be sent to other in-game players and a dedicated Discord channel, letting everyone know there's a new session to join. So be patient!
🔥Warm Up: While waiting for other players to join your session, you can warm up with some solo rounds. When a player joins, you'll be reset and ready to dive into the action.
💬Communicate: Send/receive preset messages between rounds.

🎭Mask cosmetics: Show off your unique look in multiplayer with the introduction of cosmetic MASKS, replacing the ITEMS category temporarily. Stay tuned for future seasonal content!

💅Shortcut to Success: Get to your MY DOJO in a flash with a handy shortcut button from game mode pages. You can easily set your bracers and masks and return to your previous game mode menu page without missing a beat.
🔋Turbocharge Your Training: The speed mod in TRAIN now boosts overall speed instead of speed based on impact, providing a dynamic training environment.
💥Feel the Kung Fu: bHaptics has been updated to v2, and redesigned from the ground up. Expect more haptic variety now depending on the dummy arms you hit and with which part of your body!
FIXES

🐛Fixed red orbs not making any sound when being hit in EXPERT in some instances.
🐛Fixed feedback being incorrect or inconsistent at the end of a TRAIN session in some instances.
🐛Fixed issue with stab pole in FIGHT TIER 2 breaking up when moving.
🐛Fixed issue with dummy not pivoting in TRAIN TIER 2 in some instances.
🐛Fixed issue with plank shards going through floor. (not really a bug, but it looks better now!).

I hope you've been enjoying unlocking the new bracers that were recently added to the game. After working on optimisation these past few months, I am finally able to improve the visual quality of models, lighting and textures without reducing performance.
So in this months update I've redone the entire Torii Dojo from scratch: it's much more interesting now and performs very well! I've also reworked the lighting on the other Dojos: added fire and better lighting in some, glow and shadows in others.
👊Overall the Dojos now feel much better and I hope you enjoy training in them.
UPDATES

🎨Complete redesign of Torii Dojo environment. Much brighter, more interesting and highly optimised!
💡New lighting / textures of Cave Dojo and Hall Dojo.
🌟Improved fidelity of reflective surfaces on bracers, so they feel even better in the various Dojos.
🛑New level end for when failing from too many mistakes, so that it's clearer now when this has happened.
🔪The lower blades on the dummy now have a shorter range, this is to allow for cleaner fluidity between movements.
📈Further deep optimisation for both Q1 and Q2 to allow for a much more stable framerate when playing in the highest levels at speed.
🔊Added volume control for music (saves between sessions).
📄Added reminder during tutorial that it's possible to skip it.
FIXES

🐛Fixed tutorial board remaining when starting a level after finishing tutorial in some instances.
🐛Fixed multiplier icons not showing when starting the game.
🐛Fixed "Retry" panel showing level numbers in Focus mode (there are no levels in Focus).
🐛Fixed total score not displayed in some instances in Focus mode.
🐛Fixed issue where red screen fade would remain on screen if got hit exactly when level ends.
🐛Fixed issue where if your score was too big a number it would be displayed in scientific notation (Yes, some of you are THAT good).

This year has seen some big improvements in both visuals and performance, which has been really important for me. 🔥
As a practical martial arts student, I designed the game with practicality in mind before thinking about the visuals too much. Though I couldn't be happier to have reach the point in the games life that I can spend so much time making the visuals much more interesting for everyone. All thanks to all of you and your support! 🙏❤
