Happy New Year, I'm the developer of CatTuber. CatTuber has not been updated for a long time, but in fact there is still some time before the next update, so let's talk about the current progress.
I said on Bilibili that I would try to complete the development of the Workshop before the Chinese New Year. I am sorry that I failed to achieve the goal. I'm also sorry that I can't often answer questions raised by users in the Steam community cause of the development work and the network in China. Progress
CatTuber workshop items will be uploaded through an uploader, and the upload function has been developed. By the way, in the new version of CatTuber, item information supports a richer format, which is also available on the Steam page.
Unfinished part：
- The upload tool and Workshop homepage still need some icons and illustration materials.
- Translate text in upload tool to English
- Develop the function of reading the downloaded Workshop files by class in CatTuber.
So in fact, a large part of the work has been done without considering software testing. But soon there will be a problem that all Chinese people have to face: Chinese New Year. I will bring my computer back to my hometown tomorrow, and continue to develop when I am free. But during the Chinese New Year, I can't avoid banquets, visiting relatives and other activities, so the progress of the next two weeks will be very slow, and it will take a lot of time before the release of the new version...
Follow-up plan
After the release of the Workshop version of CatTuber, I will temporarily focus on the production of modeling tutorials. During this period of time, in terms of development, I only solved serious BUG. The current tutorial is very crude and lacks English translation (https://github.com/MMmmmoko/CatTuber_Cats). I want to demonstrate the complete modeling process in the form of a video, which will make it easier for users to understand CatTuber modeling.
Although I'm sorry that I couldn't take care of the steam community carefully until the completion of the above tutorials, I still think that the development of the Workshop and the production of modeling tutorials are currently the top priority in the case of insufficient manpower.
A complete tutorial can allow you to see more items in the Workshop faster.
Other things I want to say
In fact, my plan is to release silently when the needs of some people have been met, and to carry out some promotion work when the Workshop development is completed. However, CatTuber's current sales are much more than I expected. Thank you very much for your like and support!
The CatTuber team has only one member, that's me. Development, art, modeling and other work are all done independently (I used "妮酱" as a pseudonym in CatTuber), I hope you can forgive my slow progress. I am already trying to use the income from CatTuber to let others share some work of art and modeling, so the development speed in the future is estimated to increase.
It has been two and a half years since I had the idea of developing CatTuber. Bongo Cat Mver (another software I developed) could not continue to be updated for various reasons, but I have been imagining what the full version of Bongo Cat Mver would be like, so I Started the development of CatTuber (and thus completed the graduation project, haha). I have lived a very fulfilling and happy past two years. I wish everyone a fulfilling and happy 2023!
