Each pilot is given 12 qualification laptime attempts.
The Drone used is the Standard drone, with default settings, and any skin you like. The Physics V2 model is used.
Unless stated otherwise, each event will be a Single-Elimination bracket tournament, with a Small and Grand Final. Stay tuned for more info on each event. If circumstances allow for it, we may organize a Double Elimination bracket with a Chase-the-Ace final, with prior notice.
Each event awards points for the season. For each pilot, only the 3 best-scoring events are counted for the Season Ranking.
The best pilots of the season will be awarded FAI Medals and Certificates.
The Season Rankings are considered for invitations to CAT1 events, the potential Olympic e-Sport Games, etc.

👻 Big Summer Update ⏱️ Ghosts, Live Companion, Optimizations and more!

Last time, we brought you Steam Login for the game, the Track Visualizer and new track elements. Now, we're back from summer vacation with some big changes! Ghosts! the EreaDrone Companion! A whole lot of fixes and optimizations!

👻 Ghosts! ⏱️

You can now race against up to 9 ghosts at once in EreaDrone! For every track in Race mode, you can turn on Ghosts from the Escape menu.

Ghosts can be assigned automatically (using times similar to yours), or you can choose to race against anyone from the Leaderboard. In Endless mode, ghosts will only do 1 lap and repeat it whenever you cross the first gate, and will do a full race when you start a Race.

Ghost names are shown if the "Display Other's Names" option is set to ON.

🎦 EreaDrone Companion

The EreaDrone Companion is the second-screen experience available now in the EreaDrone Launcher. By switching to the Live tab of the launcher when you are flying, you can now see live info and stats directly in the Visualizer!

The Companion is available in the Launcher, but we are planning on making it available on phones and tablets soon for those who do not have a second screen.

Multiplayer

The companion is compatible with multiplayer! See all your friends flying from any angle, and see how they fly.

Freestyle

By Click+Holding anywhere on the map while in Freestyle mode, you can set your spawn there! Drag in a direction to set the direction you want the spawn to be orientated in.

▶️ How to Enable Companion

The Companion is disabled by default, as it has a small but real performance impact. If you wish to turn it on, go to the Live tab in the Launcher, and it show you a button to enable it. To disable it again, you can press the Settings icon next to the Fly Now button in the Launcher.

In this menu, you can enable/disable:

Keep Open / Hide / Close the launcher when game is launched
Launcher moving to your second screen when game is launched
Launcher switching to the Live Companion tab when game starts

📡 Better VTX filters!

The Analog and Digital filters should now look better, especially with an enhanced color balance.

⏱️ Tracks load faster!

You may have noticed, but for the last few weeks, track have been loading considerably quicker than before! We've switched the way elements are loaded into the environment to optimise load times. Expect a significant difference on Maps with 150+ elements.

(New?) Track Elements

Well this is awkward. These Track Elements have been in the game for a while. Since the start in fact. Due to a sneaky bug, they have not been available publicly (only for us developers), which has now been fixed! So I guess everyone can now enjoy 11 (new?) Track Elements:

- White, for marking the flight path
- Black
- Orange, for gain of elevation
- Blue, for loss of elevation

All MultiGP elements have a dark and light variant.

🔩 Bug fixes and improvements 🛠️

This is quite a sizable update, so there's also quite a lot of improvements and bug fixes!

Netcode improvements, better interpolation. Multiplayer and spectator should be smoother!
Fixed an issue that forced the default profile in singleplayer after playing in a multiplayer lobby with forced default profile
Fixed an issue preventing the deletion of the default profile
Fixed an issue where checkpoints were sometimes incorrectly recorded in replays
Irrelevant options are now greyed out in the Rate Profile menu
Fixed an issue where changing drone while modifying lobby settings did not save the lobby settings
Fixed a major issue where flags and gates were rendering behind clouds, causing them to become invisible (especially in the Flat and Void environements)
Fixed an issue with certain track elements not casting any shadows
Fixed an issue where competitors were joining as spectator instead of as a pilot during events
Improved Drone Model and skin loading
Propellers are now colored in Spectator mode
Improved Drone Motor positions, as they caused very slight jitter on props when looking closely
Improved Rotor downwash dust visual effect
Fixed Shadows in the Stadium environment being cast wrongly
Rifty (ground station) is now always placed on the ground instead of being linked to the Spawn placement
Fixed an issue where the Quit Game modal would not work on first press, needing to quit twice to actually quit
Possibly fixed an issue with drones getting stuck in the floor of the Stadium environment
Added an "Update Map" button in the session settings for the case where a map has been updated, but a pilot is still using an older version
Disconnected pilots are now kept in-lobby for 30s to give them a chance to reconnect (Red dot icon will appear in lobby screen)
Replay recorder now includes the flight before the first gate
Replays now respect track version, instead of defaulting to latest version
Fixed major issue in the Track Editor where saving would lead to needing to press ESC multiple times to actually bring up the ESC menu
Fixed an issue where the Controller and Drone setup was loading incorrectly if launched from a place other than the Main Menu
Major optimization relating to the way Drone Trails were rendered. This should lead to considerably smoother gameplay when a lot of drones were present in Multiplayer
General optimizations and minor bug fixes

We recently pushed a hotfix to this update with important fixes, such as HDR or poor performance in menus, as well as adding small features. Read about it here.

Track Visualizer, Steam Login and Track Elements - Road to 1.0 Milestone

Last time, we brought you a new and improved Multiplayer menu, and some news about EreaDrone on Linux. Now, let's look at what's new for today! We're bringing you Steam Login, a beautiful Track Visualizer in the Launcher and in your browser, and new Track Elements!

🆕 Track Visualizer (in launcher and browser)

If you've been on the EreaDrone website and searched for tracks, you might have seen the "LAYOUT (BETA)" button. Well, we've... expanded the capabilities of that tool.

For all in-game tracks, you can now see and explore a 3D version featuring all track elements directly in your browser, or on your phone. You can see the flight path, and exactly how it fits into the in-game environment. Share your tracks with anyone even without EreaDrone, or simply consult the 3D layout of the track.

For all leaderboard laps with a replay, you can now see it and review it! Rewatch it any way you like, from any angle or in FPV.

You can browse the visualizer of any track in the Maps tab of the EreaDrone Launcher.

Simply press the Fullscreen button to expand the visualizer, and get access to all the settings on the right, and the track leaderboard on the left.

In browser, you will need to be logged in to the EreaDrone website to see the track leaderboards.

Try it now: Ningbo Cup, Mirror Cup, 2026 MultiGP GQ and Redimm's Castle.

📡 Login with Steam

You can now login to your EreaDrone account directly using Steam, in the Launcher or the EreaDrone website!

Also, and more importantly for new users, you do not have to create an EreaDrone account anymore. Simply login with your Steam account on the Sign Up page of the launcher, and enjoy EreaDrone! This gives you full access to the EreaDrone simulator and the ereadrone.com website, just like with a regular EreaDrone account.

If you already have an EreaDrone account, you can simply use the Sign In with Steam option, your account is already linked.

If you created an account with Steam, but wish to login using a separate password, please sign in to the ereadrone.com website. Navigate to your Profile -> Edit Profile, and set a password and e-mail. This will let you sign in to your EreaDrone account without using Steam.

🎨 New Track Elements!

7 new Track Elements inspired by the FAI elements often used in Chinese World Cups! These are all featured in the 2026 FAI Ningbo e-Drone Cup track.

All gates have 2.6m x 2.6m openings, with 0.2m wide members.

Simple Gate (with supporting beams)
Double Horizontal Gate (with supporting beams)
L-Gate, 3 openings (with central supporting beams and feet on either side)
Cube (1.28x bigger than the already existing cubes)
Double Cube (thinner beams than the existing Truss Double Cube)
Double Vertical Gate (with supporting beams)
High Gate (double gate with bottom portion blocked off)

All new elements can be found in the Racing -> ASFC category in the Track Editor.

🔩 Bug fixes and improvements 🛠️

Drone trails are now much more colorful!
Fixed an issue where banners would not loading correctly in the Profile menu
Fixed an issue relating to the throttle instantly arming the drone when loading into a map and causing issues, especially when loading into a lobby with locked drone model choice
Join as Spectator button has been added back in, whoops!
Fixed an issue where the FOV could change unexpectedly in Multiplayer mode
Fixed some small presentation issues with Spectator mode (such as interpolation stutter when in FPV mode)
Fixed an issue where some Escape Screen buttons were interactable when they shouldn't be
Improved the camera handling of the Game Ending screen
Scoreboards should display better on less common aspect ratios (such as 16:10 laptop screens)
Minor bug fixes

The Mirror Track features two perfectly symmetrical sections, with the same track elements. However, both sections have completly different racing lines, and tackle the obstacles in a modified way.

📋 Registration

You can already register to every event of the 2026 FAI eDRWC season! Registrations close 12h before the start of the competition. When you register, you will recieve reminders for the upcoming events and openings of qualification periods.

🏅 Qualifications

The qualification period lasts a bit more than a week. It starts at midnight UTC on the Friday preceding the event, and closes 12h before the start of the competition, at midnight UTC.

Every competitor has 12 qualification time attempts, so make them count! The tracks will be freely available for training in the map browser. To record a qualification time, go to the Tournament menu in EreaDrone.

🛳️ Next Event: 2026 FAI Xiaoliu e-Drone Racing World Cup

Qualification period: June 12th, 12AM UTC - June 20th, 11:59PM UTC

Competition: Sunday June 21st, at 12PM UTC

This event is held on the track of the 2026 FAI Xiaoliu Drone Racing World Cup that was recently held in Ningbo, China!

The track will release soon in the simulator.

ℹ️ How to participate in a 2026 FAI eDRWC event?

You can participate fully from your own home! All FAI e-Drone Racing World Cup events are fully online, and just require your PC, (radio)controller and a high-speed internet connection! All events are free, with no registration fee.

Register to the event on the ereadrone.com website (links above), and fill out all the info
In EreaDrone, train for the event and fly at least 1 qualification laptime to qualify (Main Menu ➔ Tournament ➔ Event)
Join the EreaDrone Discord server (use the invitation link you get when registering)
On competition day, connect to the EreaDrone Discord and fly in the tournament!

This is Part 6 of the EreaDrone Road to 1.0 UI Update! Last time, we brought you a new ground station, upgraded the Carpark and Chateau Environments and improved the Rate Profiles menu! Now, let's look at what's new for today!

🆚 New Multiplayer Menu

We've improved the Multiplayer Lobby menu! You can now better see all the available lobbies for you to join, and create your own.

You can also see at a glance the current map, pilots that are present and the gamemode!

We're almost done with the UI update! We only have the Tournament Menu and the Escape screen left, and then we can move on to the next part of the Road to 1.0.

⚠️ Notice to Linux Pilots 🐧

As you may know, EreaDrone does not have an official Linux build. However, we recently made the game available to be run using Proton, up to the latest updates. While this is way more usable than before, this version still has some important problems, that we are actively trying to solve in the next updates. We are also not targeting the SteamDeck as of yet, so the game might run poorly on that hardware.

If you experience any issues when running the game using Proton, please contact us via [email protected].

Known Issues when using Proton on Linux:

Degraded performance on higher graphics settings on bigger maps, and worse performance in general when compared to running the game in Windows
Singleplayer mode does not load (issue with internal server). Temporary fix: Open a multiplayer lobby, and fly there
Replay Video Export works, but is much slower than it should be
The default Screenshot/Replay export folder is in the Proton simulated Windows file system, which is hard to access. You can change the Media export folder in the settings to a more convenient place
The game sometimes defaults to your keyboard as a controller. In the options, please select your controller

🔩 Bug fixes and improvements 🛠️

Fixed the Procedural Gates displaying incorrectly when using the game on a French (or other non-point-decimal locale) computer
Removed the Hariton Zoe track from the license-free OST available through the Content Creator mode, to avoid any DMCA issues on platforms such as Youtube
Fixed flickering and outlines not showing up in the Track Editor due to TAA or Upscalers
Changed the Race Finish animation to an LOS point of view at the last gate
Fixed some flickering causes by the FishEye effect in certain modes
[Linux] Video clips should now display correctly instead of color bars
Optimized some background fetching of multiplayer lobbies

This is Part 5 of the EreaDrone Road to 1.0 UI Update! Last time, we brought you a complete overhaul of our Map & Track Browsers.

📈 More Rates, better menu!

EreaDrone now supports all of the rates available in BetaFlight. We've also fixed some issues that were previously present in the Rates menu.

Supported rates:

Betaflight
Actual
KISS (new)
QuickRates (new)
Raceflight (new)

There's also cursors now, that show how your controller responds to the rates, per individual axis, and a drone preview to test how the rates feel. You can now also copy/paste profiles.

For those who want it, we implemented the throttle limit function, that either clips or scales your throttle input depending on the percentage you set.

You can quickly open this menu by pressing P at any time (rebindable in the settings).

🗼 Say Hello to Ryfty!

When flying, there will now be a cute little ground station next to your spawn, called Ryfty! It's where your antenna is, so keep that in mind when using a VTX filter.

Don't worry, it won't interfere when flying, it has no hitbox and fades away when you get near.

🎡 Carpark & Chateau Open Door day

Some new holes have appeared on the Chateau map, and you can now fly in new locations that were previously inaccessible.

This tower was previously completely blocked, but now you can do tricks inside it! There are many other places

In Carpark, we opened up a lot of the doors that were previously closed, including the elevator shaft and the stairwells!

In the underground floor, some of the vent covers were removed. I wonder if you could fly into it... 🤔

We also improved the collisions on some environment props, so you can now fly where you couldn't before!

🔧 Bug fixes and improvements

Fixed some issues preventing the Offline Mode popup showing up when starting the game offline
Fixed an issue that spawned the drone on the environment spawn point instead of the Freestyle map spawn, and allowed to select a spawn other than the specified one
Fixed an issue that caused the default values not being correctly reset when switching between rate types
Fixed an issue where the Race Path was sometimes not visible when it was rendered with water in the Harbour environment
Fixed the Race Path being hidden by the triggers in the Track Editor when in Checkpoint mode
Reduced Bloom effect in most environments, especially Alpine
Fixed the Motor% OSD element sometimes displaying incorrect information in Direct mode
Fixed the Throttle Mid/Expo sometimes not being correctly applied
Fixed the Tutorials list not loading in all the tutorials
Fixed some lighting issues in Carpark
Fixed some misplaced rocks in Island
Fixed lag spikes on startup
Fixed Fish Eye effect still being enabled when using 3rd Person or LOS
Max altitude is now 7500 instead of 3500m. You can now fly as high as Everest on Alpine!

You can toggle On and Off all those elements individually in the Escape menu, or in the Settings, so you can really customise your OSD!

📡 Realistic Analog and Digital filters

We've added a full analog filter, that simulates the look of an analog transmission to your goggles! We suggest that you switch your game to 4:3 aspect ratio and increase the fish-eye to really complete the look.

The filter simulates RF noise, screen tearing, channel loss, vertical sync issues, color bleed and much more!

We also added a digital filter, with its blocky artifact glory!

🛜 VTX Interference Simulation

Both filters simulate the distortions and glitches of radio video transmission. The signal strength is based on distance and if (and by how much) the antenna is blocked by trees, terrain or any other object. Like for real drones, you will need to keep in mind line-of-sight to the antenna, which is placed by default on your chosen spawn point.

📂 Other 🎶

We added License-free Music to the Content Creator Mode, to prevent copyright issues if you plan on making EreaDrone content. You can find the full track listing, including links and attribution, in the game credits. You can also use it as an alternate OST for the game, if the old one is getting stale.
Along with that, we added a Music Player, accessible from the Escape menu. Control your music and check out the tracks directly from there!
You can now choose the folder where your Screenshots and Replay videos are recorded. (Options -> General)

🔧 Bug fixes and improvements 🩹

Fixed the controller cursor slowly drifting in the menus, when using a gaming controller
You can now change your default Camera Mode (Options -> General)
Remapped default shortcuts: S now opens Spawn Selection, and L opens Sessions Settings (L for Lobby). You can now remap Spawn Selection in the controls.
Added the missing Motor Torque tooltip in the Physics Settings
Fixed an issue where the nameplate would look empty for a few seconds in some cases after switching banners/title
Removed doubled Back buttons in some parts of the UI

Now: 🎨 UI Update

We've already released some parts of the UI update, already available in game. This includes the new Main Menu, Gamemode Selection menu, Profile and Customization menu, the new Lobby Settings menu, and the new Launcher Beta.

We are still working on overhauling the rest of the UI, including the Settings, the Map Browser and Picker, and the Tournament menu. These updates will be rolled out very soon.

2.🎓 Academy & Tutorials

We recently added 17 more tutorials, but we're not stopping there! We have big plans for a complete and comprehensive tutorial campaign, featuring 100+ tutorials, with improvements to replayability and the tutorial end-screen. While our current tutorials are linear and need to be completed in a certain order, we want to provide more choice in how you learn.

Every beginner should have access to resources to learn at their own pace, with the difficulty scaling of their choosing. This is what we're aiming for.

We missed something, or you just want to train for something very specific? Make your own tutorial, or browse tutorials from experienced pilots! We will introduce community tutorials, accessible to every user.

3.🪚 Track Editor Update

More gates and track elements! More decorative elements! More of everything!

But that's not all. We want to change some stuff about the Track Editor, to make it even easier to use, with added tutorials and best practise guidelines. We also want to improve the experience of testing your own track.

Also, why not make a track together? We will introduce multiplayer map-making, so you can test and fly at the exact same time, or simply share in the joy of crafting a track. We also want to introduce custom gates, and custom shape primitives to allow you even more freedom.

Currently, you can see the replays of your best laps, and the best laps of everyone who beat their own times in the map leaderboards. We want to give you more options and freedom to watch back and review your own performance, and that of others. We're planning tools like freecam and annotation tools, to review your trajectories and flight data, so you know what to improve effectively.

Now, you can export a video of your replay. We want to improve that experience, and let you share your replays more effectively, in EreaDrone or on social media. If you are a content creator, we will let you express your film director prowess with more extensive tools to showcase your flights.

And that's it! While we are still keeping some stuff close to our chest, we have some big plans for EreaDrone, and look forward to all the improvements we will make.

Of course, we're not forgetting you: during this whole process, we want to involve pilots to see what they really want out of EreaDrone. If you want to get involved, we will share some ways to give your feedback, similarly to what we've done for the Physics V2 update.

🧑‍🔬 Physics V2

We recently released our Physics V2 system, that improves the physics of every model in EreaDrone, greatly improving the feel. Alongside that, we updated our Drone Settings menu to make it as easy as possible to dial in all the settings exactly how you want them, by letting you fly directly in the menu and giving you key metrics.
