The Ninth Way (T9W) is the story of a mage, Cyr, who tries to find his place in an hostile world, learning new spells and unlocking arcane powers.
Like many great heroes, Cyr’s journey begins from a desperate situation.
We chose to apply a cel-shading effect because in our opinion it lets you experience a powerful aestethic experience within the technical limitation imposed by working in VR.
Cyr will find a variety of elemental crystals around the world. Here, he found the fire crystal in his cell, and he’s ready to cast his first spell.
The core concept of T9W is to find and combine creatively different elements in order to overcome the game’s challenges. You can see eight crystal slots in Cyr’s glyph, one for each element in the game lore.
Cyr’s escape won’t be easy. Numerous guardians will try to stop him on his path to freedom, and he’ll need to resort to all his magical powers in order to survive.
There are a variety of enemies already implemented in the game, each with his own strengths and weaknesses. Learning how to deal with each enemy will be vital in T9W.
Even in his darkest hour, Cyr won’t forget how he can always find a glimpse of peace in the beauty hidden in his world.
One of the goals in making T9W was trying to tell stories to the players just by using the game environment. Players with attention to details might get hints of the game lore just by looking at how the architectural elements are placed in the world.
The greatest mages know how to create themselves a favorable battle field, instead of struggling to find one.

There are a lot of interactions between objects and magic in the world, and we’re working to increase the player’s option even more. For instance: earth objects can be destroyed, and oil can be lit with fire or extinguished with water.
Cyr’s powers are limited, for now. But what will he be capable of once he’ll reach his full potential?
Our journey together at T9W has just begun. We are already developing new spells, new kinds of interaction, and entire new mechanic systems to ensure that you will be as in love as we are with this game.
