Across June and July, we’re celebrating with the wettest Paper Pirates Seasonal Celebration, The Pirate Pool Party! Running from 24th June to 22nd July, celebrate the warmer weather with a party dedicated to all things poolside, and a whole host of seasonal goodies in Paper Pirates!
Seasonal Trait: The Mermaid
The Mermaid is an active trait available in all voyages during The Pirate Pool Party with at least 7 pirates. The Mermaid's strength grows each time they are thrown overboard by any means - that includes by events, by traits, or by voting.

When The Mermaid does not play in, assuming they have been overboard at least once, they may choose to active their power. The Mermaid's terrible rage is embodied in the form of revenge, and when activated, they must throw overboard one pirate for each time they have been overboard. They can't choose to stop, so if they've been overboard twice, they must throw two different pirates overboard.
Once they've exacted their wicked revenge, The Mermaid's rage will be temporarily quelled, but they will again grow their power each additional time they are thrown overboard.
Seasonal Traits: The Shark & The Bait
The Shark and The Bait appear as a pair, and one is hunting the other! In any game where The Shark and The Bait appear, The Shark has a unique victory condition. If they're able to get The Bait thrown overboard three times - through events and/or voting - they will automatically and instantly achieve a solo victory! Both The Shark and The Bait are passive traits.
Is someone behaving suspiciously? A bit too keen to throw someone overboard? Maybe they're The Shark! Is someone claiming to be The Bait? Maybe they just don't want to go overboard and really they're The Cursed? Hmm, tricky times ahead crew...
To make things even more challenging for the crew, The Bait will always appear as a ghost when their team is revealed through traits and events. Be vigilant crew!
Party Favours for all the Guests!

The “Spooky Sandcastles” Event!
Go on a sailing adventure during The Pirate Pool Party, and any day when there’s a failed job there is a chance you may encounter the “Spooky Sandcastles” event. Encountering some mysterious haunted sandcastles, the crew must each choose one of the three to hide amongst! But be wary, for once all pirates have picked a hiding place, the most popular pick will reveal how many of the pirates choosing to hide amongst it was actually a ghost!
Watch out for pirates choosing to hide amongst their peers, or those choosing to go it alone hoping not to be discovered. Whether pirates are jumping in with others or not, there’s bound to be deception around the spooky sandcastles!
Get your Party On in the Photo Booth
To celebrate The Pirate Pool Party, there is one limited-time Background and one limited-time Foil available in the Photo Booth, in the Captain’s Log. Take the opportunity to snap your favourite pirate templates, and share any pics you take!
Pirate Pool Party Bots
Invite bots into your game during The Pirate Pool Party, and you may encounter any of three unique bots! Look out for Crabbot, Sandy Botney and Wes Overbot who are all eager to board your ship and throw you overboard! These bots will only join your games during The Pirate Pool Party, so take the chance to meet them now before they swim away for the rest of the year!

Spring Celebrations in the Photo Booth

Voyages blessed by a mysterious benefactor will have one extra special secret. Every day when a job fails, the mysterious benefactor will send a secret note to a random pirate. That note will expose some information about the crew's traits! They might share a trait that nobody on the crew currently has, or, tell you the trait someone on the crew has.
The Lovers always appear as a pair, with two randomly chosen pirates from the crew both having the trait 'The Lovers'. When either pirate with The Lovers trait goes overboard, the other pirate will become Heartbroken, automatically going overboard the following day after the job completes.
During the first day, The Admirer must choose a target of their admiration from the crew. The Admirer's team will then immediately change to match the pirate they chose. Not only that, but every time The Admirer's target changes team, The Admirer's team will change too!

While The Chef is sharing a meal with another pirate, that pirate may use their active trait without spending any resources. This means that The Witch can brew potions without using up ingredients, The Reaper can enact pacts without spending souls, and any charge-based traits get unlimited uses.
They may pass the ball to any other pirate, who then has the chance to either pass it on to another pirate or keep hold of it in the pre-event phase of the next day. The Quarterback will always know exactly how many days there are until the football explodes, throwing the pirate currently holding it overboard. Can you trust The Quarterback's timings, or will you find yourself blown up by their lies?
There are five American football-themed outfit pieces for you to collect from the daily quests, so make sure to play a game of Paper Pirates on five different days before the celebration ends on the 30th November!
During The Festive Feast, Sam Sherbot and Nat O’Bother have some new customisation options available to unlock in the Shop Ship! If you buy a customisation option during Festive Feast, you can use it all year round - but the items will be disappearing from sale when the event is over, so don’t delay and buy today! Go on a sailing adventure during The Festive Feast, and your crew will have the chance to partake in the time-honoured ritual of wishing on a wishbone. During the Event phase of the game, the Wish on a Wishbone event may activate for the duration of The Festive Feast, offering two randomly chosen pirates the opportunity to wish for an event to occur. Which of the pirates will pull the larger half of the wishbone and have their wishes granted…? That’s all part of the fun of Wish on a Wishbone!
Invite some bots into your game during The Festive Feast, and you may find some of the regular crew replaced with some particularly festive bots, out to celebrate Thanksgiving! They’ll only join your games during The Festive Feast, but each has their own personality and appearance for you to enjoy.
The pattern of the offering will then dictate how the spirits decide to reward The Spiritualist. Each different pattern leads to a different event, so the more times you're The Spiritualist and the more attention you pay, the more you can control the response of the spirits!
There are four candle-themed outfit pieces for you to collect from the daily quests, so make sure to play a game of Paper Pirates four times before the celebration ends on the 14th November!

Every pattern will always lead to the same reward, so once you've found a good one if you convince your crew to recreate it, the same reward will happen again!

On odd numbered days, when the moon is in its crescent phase, The Werewolf is weakened. Any votes cast by The Werewolf on these days will only have a voting power of one, regardless of their rank on the ship.
If more of the audience choose trick, an event which generally favours the ghost team will immediately happen. If more of the audience choose treat, an event which generally favours the human team will immediately happen.

There's two outfits, for a combined total of eight items, to collect throughout Haunted Seas. Make sure to complete your tasks every day, and get ready to dress up!
