Greetings, Battle Researchers!
A remaster… already?
Yeah, we know, it’s only been four years.
But here’s the thing: over those four years, everything behind Coromon has evolved. Our tools, our systems, our understanding of what makes the game feel great.
And once we saw how far things had come, especially through developing Coromon: Rogue Planet, we couldn’t ignore it.
We had to bring that evolution back to Velua as well!
*Example taken from Coromon: Rogue Planet, but Coromon will be sharing the same foundation from now! More on that below.
So… what actually changed?
A lot. Like… a lot a lot.
This isn’t just a visual refresh, it’s a full-on upgrade across the entire experience. From how the game looks, to how it feels in your hands, to how quickly you can jump into the action, almost every part of Coromon’s foundation has been rebuilt.
Here’s what you can expect:
Complete UI overhaul across menus, battles, and navigation
Engine upgrades, such as smoother frame pacing, multiple keyboard layouts, improved controller detection
Fully reworked battle quick-actions with smart item suggestions
Expanded input support, including mouse hover, a lot of new hotkeys, and button tooltips
A ton of impactful quality-of-life improvements across the game
Crimsonite is redesigned to align with Coromon: Rogue Planet plans
What does this mean for Coromon: Rogue Planet?
Since Coromon: Rogue Planet is built on the same foundation as Coromon, everything we develop is shared between the two, and that goes both ways.
This new foundation was a big step forward for us. It gives us the flexibility, speed, and tools we need to fully realize what Rogue Planet is meant to be.
And that experience? It’s going to be something special!
The game is still in development, but we’re making exciting progress, and we can’t wait to show you more soon.
If you’re excited for what’s coming, make sure to wishlist Coromon: Rogue Planet and stay up to date as we get closer to launch 🚀
Alright, alright, let’s get into it. Be sure to read till the end for some future update teasers as well!
Patch Notes
Complete UI Overhaul
With new engine capabilities in hand, our existing UI felt like it wasn’t making full use of what was now possible, so we rebuilt it from the ground up. The battle UI in particular now surfaces more useful information with fewer button presses.

A fresh new UI theme.
Button tooltips for faster navigation.
Quick item suggestion buttons in battle and in your squad screen.

A battle UI that shows more information while requiring fewer inputs.

The engine and input layer received major upgrades to support the ambitions of Rogue Planet, and they’re landing here first.
The game now runs at a higher resolution, making it comfortable on full-screen PC monitors and large displays.
Frame pacing was rewritten at the engine level, resulting in noticeably smoother gameplay on desktop.

Menu Updates
Messages like “already at max energy” or “no usable items” now appear as compact toast popups near the relevant button, instead of full-screen popups.

New encounter visuals for Potent and Perfect Coromon
Both Swurmy Rush and Flappy Swurmy received their own title screen and settings screen

New Battle UI
Battles are now packed with responsive feedback wherever you point, tap, or navigate.
All available actions are visible in one panel, no more pressing a button only to access Skills
Dedicated buttons for smart Cake and Spinner suggestions
You can now quickly inspect the details of a Skill by using hotkeys.
Target crosshairs have been added for clearer target selection feedback for Skills.
Battle weather popups have been redesigned for better readability.
Shoulder buttons can now be used to cycle through and view Coromon details
Balance Changes
Revenge Jaws now triggers on any physical hit, not just contact moves, making it more broadly useful and consistent.
Bug Fixes
Fixed crash that could happen when stacking Spike Trap in battles against multiple Coromon.
Fixed bug where opposing Coromon would eat your Coromon's fruit instead of theirs when using a charge Skill
That’s all for now!
This update marks a huge step forward for Coromon, and we’re incredibly proud of everything we’ve been able to bring into the game. But more importantly…
This is just the beginning.
We’re already working on more updates, with plans for things like:
Even more QoL features
New Coromon skins
New side quests to explore
A catchable Fusebox (👀)
Custom difficulty settings for puzzles
And more surprises along the way
So while Coromon Remastered is a big milestone, it’s far from the final one.
We really hope you enjoy everything in this update, and if you do, you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on what’s coming next. Don’t forget to wishlist Coromon: Rogue Planet!

Greetings, Battle Explorers!
While many of you know us from Coromon, we’ve been hard at work on something new behind the scenes, our next adventure, Coromon: Rogue Planet!
Gym Leader Ed’s Monster Tamer Direct recently gave an early preview of exciting new details! Watch the trailer below to catch all the news and mechanics we reveal inside.
It’s going great! We’ve been adding a ton of new mechanics and overhauling a lot of our systems, which has drastically elevated Coromon: Rogue Planet far beyond our initial expectations. The game has expanded way, way beyond what we had initially envisioned, and we’re so excited about the direction it’s growing in. We’re extremely proud of what we’re making, and we can’t wait to show you more!
Be sure to wishlist the game to stay tuned and see more updates:
And, if you want to know more about the journey we’ve been on and how we got here, we’ve got you covered—read on!
Journey to Rogue Planet
When we originally began work on Rogue Planet in early 2024, we had envisioned it as a roguelite DLC to the first Coromon game. We figured, “Hey, let’s keep it simple—we’ll use the same exact engine, re-utilise a lot of assets from Coromon 1, and we can easily have a fun game in players’ hands within a year!”
That was right about the time Jaron joined us as lead narrative designer, and we started to really explore the ideas of what Rogue Planet could become. We began building the cast of characters—Buck, Juniper, Merrin, Saige, Dot, and Gunnar—and also started evolving the role of Crimsonite in both the narrative and the gameplay. With the addition of hundreds of random events, the Coromon universe grows larger and more engaging than ever before.
Not long after, we started getting REALLY excited about what we were seeing in the gameplay possibilities. As the game grew, our team kept growing with it, and we brought on a new Systems Designer, Marcin, who started to evolve the way we thought about the core mechanics. This is what led us to focus on things like double battles, as well as new twists such as the Crimsonite Shield and character-specific battle actions—exponentially increasing the amount of tactical decisions you have to influence the result of a battle!
We brought on several new concept artists to help us build the new starters and help us design some of the exciting new environments that will be featured in the game. This meant exploring a LOT of different designs, and both Thibaud and Kian really rose to the occasion to help bring everything to life!
We’ve also been handcrafting the Outpost with the team—the hub area where you’ll start and end each expedition into Velua’s Farlands. This is the place each character in the game will call home, and you’ll be able to upgrade and grow it over time, so we knew it needed to be beautiful no matter where you look, and we’re so stoked about how it’s turned out.
Rogue Planet, Now
After working and building for over a year, we’ve seen how much potential the game has, and we pretty quickly realized along the way that it was big enough that, if we wanted to really achieve our vision of the gameplay and all its content, it would need to be its own game. And we’re so glad that we’ve made that decision, because it’s opened up so many design doors for us, and allowed us the creative freedom we needed to deliver something extraordinary.
Everything about the game—the battle system, the story, the characters, the locations, the animations—it all feels so fresh and new, and it’s so exciting to watch as it all comes together. We’re getting closer and closer to finishing it every day, and we can’t wait for you to get your hands on it and see all the new features!
Updated Release Date
That isn’t all we’ve built for Rogue Planet; we’ve got a lot more to share in the coming months! But, as we’re nearing the end of 2025, we realize that, in order to bring this game to life the way we want to, we’re going to need a little bit more time to polish it. Our new release date is planned for 2026.
BUT! HOLD ON! You’ll be able to play the game much sooner than that. We’re currently working on some playtest builds of the game, and we’ll be running playtests through Steam. So be sure to wishlist Rogue Planet if you haven’t already, so you can stay in the loop for when those go live!
Stay tuned for more—We’ll see you in the Farlands!

Coromon Skins and Trainer Cosmetics Are Now Shared Across Save Slots
All unlocked Coromon skins and trainer cosmetics are now available across all save slots. Whether you’re starting fresh or continuing an old adventure, your unlocked content travels with you.
Trainer Cosmetics Are Now Easier to Manage
Trainer cosmetics no longer clutter your inventory. Two new tools streamline the process:
Lux Wardrobe: Organizes all your wearable cosmetics in categorized tabs for easy browsing.
Lux Appearance Kit: Lets you change your character’s base appearance (hair, skin tone, etc.) at any time.
This system makes it quicker and more intuitive to update your look mid-adventure or whenever inspiration strikes.
Unlock Coromon Skins with Style Crystals
You can now skip Coromon Skin challenges if you prefer, using Style Crystals earned before the 1.4.0 update to directly unlock skins:
Tier 1 skins: 100 Style Crystals
Tier 2 skins: 200 Style Crystals
Tier 3 skins: 300 Style Crystals
Style Crystals can other still be earned in PVP battles, and used to unlock CoroNet avatars, including new options like the Titan and Fusebox avatars, so you can continue to express your style online.
Content Updates
We’ve corrected and added several items that were missing or misassigned:
Illuginn's area is now accessible after defeating Illuginn, allowing you to access items located there.
The Ghost and Normal cosmetic sets can now be found as intended.
Plasma Lumon is now unlockable.
Several sweaters and bandanas have been added to the character creation screen and are available from the start.
Bug Fixes
Fixed a crash when feeding treats to a skinned Purrgy.

About Indie.io
For those of you who may not know, working with a game publishing platform like indie.io greatly helps indie developers focus on game development while they handle all the behind-the-scenes magic. From helping manage store pages to crafting marketing campaigns and even helping the game shine at both digital and live events, indie.io helps in all the aspects that indie developers often struggle with alone. We had the pleasure to work with indie.io on Coromon, and they were an easy, immediate first choice for this game! Indie.io has been great to us, and without them, Coromon wouldn’t be the far-reaching, smash-success that it’s been for us.
