Hey everyone!
Thank you all for the continued support and feedback! We are keeping the momentum going with Hotfix 0.30c. While you have been exploring Site-113, we have been hard at work behind the scenes focusing heavily on performance optimizations, audio improvements, and squashing some of the peskiest bugs you reported.
We also have a brand new launch option specifically designed for players experiencing crashes during the initial shader compilation.
Note: This patch includes a full rebake of the lighting for both Chapters 01 and 02, along with a new, more efficient game compression method. As a result, this update is much larger than future patches, but it does not take up additional storage space. This helps improve performance and visual consistency across the entire game -- with the added bonus of making the total install size slightly smaller overall!
Here is everything else included in this latest update!
Bug Fixes and Improvements
Crashes, Performance, and Stability:
Added a new launch option to skip the Shader Compilation step. This should prevent crashing on launch for certain hardware (Note: you may experience some additional shader stuttering during gameplay if you choose to skip).
Overhauled and optimized level streaming volumes across the board. Heavy sections should now stutter much less, and you will no longer see props loading in right in front of you.
Optimized several specific sections to be much more performant, especially in The Forest.
Fixed several crashes related to AI targeting and detection states.
Adjusted the footstep logic in the timeloop to no longer cause lag.
Gameplay and Interactions:
Adjusted SCP-049’s cure to now provide infinite immunity to SCP-149's infection.
Fixed an issue with autosave volumes in Chapter 01 that was allowing players to fall through the map upon loading.
Fixed a bug that allowed players to unlock Wrist Device nodes even when they were supposed to be locked.
Added an extra skill point in the Med Bay to allow the player to unlock a new skill earlier on.
Added several new scannable items for your PDA.
Fixed several soft locks where players could get stuck between certain props.
Audio Polish:
Fixed the club music so it now syncs up perfectly (the song is awesome).
Implemented new spatial audio volumes around the map to create a much more immersive soundscape.
Added brand new SFX for when weapons break.
Adjusted the audio mixing for both Seven and Alice so their voices sit much better in the game world.
Fixed a bug that caused overlapping conversations to cancel each other out.
Fixed an issue where audio logs were incorrectly despawning and respawning.
World Polish and UI
Environment and Visuals:
Fixed Jayden’s hair physics so it no longer behaves erratically during cutscenes.
Re-added various physics props back into the map to make the environment feel more alive.
Fixed and adjusted several collision issues across the Chapter 02 map.
UI and Accessibility:
Clarified the weapon-breaking mechanics by adding new, helpful UI elements.
Fixed a bug where the weapon wheel was displaying items that were not actually present in your inventory.
Added new tutorial prompts to act as mechanical refreshers for returning players.

We’re thrilled to announce that Chapter 02 of SCP: Fragmented Minds arrives April 3rd!
You’ve taken your first steps into Site-113, but what you’ve seen so far is only the beginning. Chapter 02 pushes you deeper into the facility, where reality becomes increasingly unstable, and the consequences of the containment failure begin to truly unfold.
This new chapter expands on everything introduced in Chapter 01, opening up fifteen new areas to explore. You’ll chart your way through several eerie new zones like The Forest, and brave the North Wing, a sector that dynamically shifts and transforms as you progress. To survive these unpredictable environments, you’ll need to master new traversal tools like the EL2Wrist Device, enabling rapid vertical movement and opening entirely new tactical paths.
As the threat level escalates, so do your means of survival. You can now begin to customize your playstyle through a new skill tree and upgraded weapon systems. But raw firepower won’t always be enough. As you journey through the abandoned remains of The Residential Zone, you’ll encounter Reality Anchors that stabilize the fractured world around you, which can have devastating consequences if tampered with.
Every step deeper into Site-113 comes with greater risk. You’ll face five new anomalies, including the elusive SCP-966 and the horrifying parasitic SCP-149, featuring a dynamic infection system that forces you to stay on your toes. Amidst the chaos, you’ll dive into two new side quests, including one featuring SCP-049, and encounter a new guiding character who begins to reveal the true scale of what went so horribly wrong.
We can’t wait for you to experience what’s next. As always, your feedback continues to shape development as we move forward with future chapters. Be sure to get the game with the button on the top right and join our Discord to share your thoughts and experiences with us!

Hey everyone!
It has been a while since our last update post, but we are back and extremely excited to show off what we have been doing to get Chapter 02 ready for release! In the last update, we previewed some new areas, characters, and animations. Today, we are thrilled to show you those areas in a much more polished, near-final state -- along with a couple of brand-new additions we’ve made along the way!
Updated Areas [West Wing]:
As part of an ongoing effort to finalize lighting, we have completely revamped how the West Wing looks. We aimed for an overall more refined atmosphere, making it easier to spot enemies and identify alternative paths through the darkness.
Updated Areas [The Museum]:
One of the latest areas to receive final polish is The Museum. This location is home to some of the SCP Foundation's biggest achievements -- and, as you will soon see, their biggest failures. We are extremely happy with how this level turned out, and it also features a fun new enemy that you will encounter when you play.
Updated Areas [Overseers Office]:
One of the most stylish areas of Chapter 02 is the Overseer's Office, where the head of Site-113 spent most of their days. Extremely important events took place here, and visiting this location will grant you one of the most unique mechanics we have ever added to the game!
Updated Areas [Maintenance Sector 02]:
A massive station like Site-113 has plenty of industrial rooms to traverse, and we are really excited to introduce a new tool that makes navigating these vertical spaces exceptionally smooth and fun! The lighting for this area focuses on creating clear player guidance while maintaining that "rundown" aesthetic that was a staple of Chapter 01.
Updated Areas [Tunnel 01/Substation 04]:
Hidden deep beneath Site-113 lies Substation 04, home to a local reactor system. However, the heat generated by these reactor pylons has created the perfect climate for a particular creature to fester unabated...
Fluttering gently near their fleshy nests is SCP-149, a large variety of mosquito that harbors a deadly secret. While not particularly aggressive on their own, these little creatures can infect a host with a deadly virus capable of killing in a single bite. Fortunately, a cure exists for the infection -- though it comes with its own set of downsides.
While Site-113 is full of hostile anomalies, it is also home to several advanced robotic units. These androids are extremely dangerous in close quarters but also pose a massive threat at range. These enemies are treated as optional "mini-bosses," but taking them down will provide access to nearby areas containing seriously powerful gear, so don't shy away from a fight if you think you can handle it!
These enemies are also fully voiced and will feature a killer combat soundtrack, both of which will be added shortly!
Those of you who joined us for previous updates hopefully remember the Scranton Reality Anchors (SRAs). These nifty devices are capable of anchoring reality within a localized vicinity. This has interesting effects in areas with very low "hume" levels -- since activating them can stabilize an object's physics, causing floating debris to fall and form bridges, while disabling an active anchor might clear out rubble to reveal new paths.
In the last update, we saw a glimpse of the new Wrist Device. We have since fully designed and finished the audio and mechanics for this handy new tool. The wrist device is exceptionally useful for traversal, but be warned: interacting with an active SRA field will render the device non-functional until you leave the area or disable it!
One of the biggest points of feedback from Chapter 01 was that players wanted to upgrade their character and feel like those choices actually mattered. We have taken this to heart and created a new skill point system. This system allows for new traversal paths, special character upgrades, and a whole slew of fun rewards for players who take special care to search every nook and cranny of the facility.
Just like in Chapter 01, we have been working hard on fun new animations to help tell the story of Site-113 and make the world feel alive. We are implementing quite a few animations specifically for the two side missions in Chapter 02 too -- so make sure you check every door, because you never know who you might end up meeting.
Something players wanted from Chapter 01 was an expanded scanning feature for the PDA. We absolutely agreed with this feedback! We have created a new scanning mechanic and scattered scannable Field Symbols throughout the game. These symbols provide clues on what lies ahead, mark nearby loot dumps, and even warn you about new anomalies.
To uncover these secrets, you will sometimes need the new UV Flares. While traditional flares are useful for lighting your way and drawing away enemy attention, using a UV Flare in conjunction with your PDA will reveal these hidden MTF symbols -- helping you locate secrets and entirely new paths. We are also happy to announce that we will be back-porting this entire mechanic to Chapter 01, hiding symbols there for players to find as well!
Environmental WIP Animations:
While Chapter 01 had a couple of scripted environmental events, we really wanted to ramp this up in Chapter 02. We have created several special animations that play in the world to hint at upcoming threats and connect everything thematically -- ensuring a facility overrun with anomalies actually feels overrun.
We are making a few more of these in-world events and are very excited for you all to see -- and maybe even be startled by them!
Since Chapter 02 goes much more in-depth with subjects like reality-bending and time dilation, we wanted to make new effects that bring these concepts to life while retaining that classic "SCP" feeling. We are also working on a couple of massive effects for special sequences in Chapter 02, and we can't wait for you to see them in-game when they are finished!
Upcoming Story Trailer Teaser:
With the release of Chapter 02 quickly approaching (yes, really!), we wanted to make a fun teaser trailer featuring a VERY well-known character... can you guess which one?
We're extremely excited to have this teaser go live in the coming days, so be sure you are following our YouTube channel here:
This place doesn't feel quite right, and yet it's so familiar...
Chapter 02 features some pretty unique environments, but none are as unique as the special upcoming one you will visit when you play, though it might be smart to watch your step since you are anything but alone here...
Playtest 03 is LIVE NOW!
It's a pleasure to announce that Chapter 02 is now fully playable from start to finish, with only some cinematics and SFX left before the chapter is release-ready! As always, we have given our amazing Kickstarter backers playtest access, and they have done an incredible job finding bugs and giving feedback to help improve the overall flow and game design.
It's not too late to get early access to the chapter and help us improve it! If you wish to join the test, you can grab your testing privileges here with the $50 tier and above:
(If you already backed at $50 and above, you are good to go! If you need any help upgrading your tier, please send us a message on PledgeManager, and we will get it handled for you.)
What's Next?
For the rest of this month and most of January, we will be polishing the chapter based on playtester feedback, finishing the cinematic performance capture, and overhauling the sound system to make sure everything sounds incredible. We are also getting a couple of new songs composed for the game, which we are very excited for everyone to hear!
As we head into the actual launch of Chapter 02, we will post more fun trailers just like we did for the initial Early Access release. Stay tuned to see what’s in store when launch time comes!
The feedback from Chapter 01 has been incredibly valuable for shaping Chapter 02. We cannot wait to see how players interact with the new SCPs, puzzles, and mechanics we have been perfecting over these last few months.
We cannot thank those who have chosen to take time out of their day to help us playtest enough, and we welcome everyone who decides to join us on this journey to create the best update possible!
The launch of Chapter 02 is quickly approaching. While we cannot announce the specific date yet, know that more information is coming very soon—so make sure to stay updated on our YouTube channel, Steam, and website.
PS: Don't forget to get your playtesting access so you can get first dibs on playing Chapter 02 before it goes live!

Hey everyone!
We're back with another update on the development of Chapter 02. The team has been hard at work bringing the next areas of Site-113 to life, focusing on the core environments and the creatures and anomalies that now inhabit them. Things are shaping up to be truly terrifying, so let's get into what we've been building!
New Areas and Environmental Improvements:
In the last update, we showed the updated North Wing, which has since been completed architecturally and will be getting a prop and detail pass shortly. This area has some unique interactions with the world planned, and also features a very striking view of some of the other zones in the game!
Terminal 07 Tram Station:
Those of you who played Chapter 01 will remember that the game ends on a train heading into the interior dome of the facility. This new area is the other side of that tram station and serves as the starting point for Chapter 02. However, unlike the station in Chapter 01, you will be able to fully explore this one, finding important information about your team and other bits of the story before you continue deeper into the facility.
The Interrogation Room:
Deep within the heart of the Residential Zone lies a dark, decrepit backroom where those found trespassing are taken to have valuable information coerced from them, details about what supplies they have, who sent them, and anything else deemed necessary to survive in the crumbling ruins of a dying facility...
Overseers Office:
Last update, we showed the initial concept for the Overseer's Office, and we have now fully created the architecture for this area. This location in Chapter 02 is extremely important; not only will you uncover a huge piece of the story, but you will also acquire a tool that fundamentally changes how the game is played. It's also preceded by a unique puzzle sequence that we are very excited for players to try out during the upcoming playtesting session.
The Museum:
The Museum has received new lighting and extra props, as well as some cool holographic materials, which give the space a more interesting vibe. There will be a ton of story beats and other fun details about the SCP Foundation to learn about in here, so it's definitely worth checking out the exhibits to learn more about the history of Site-113. You will also find information about the past directors of the site and a timeline of important events in both the Foundation's and Earth's history.
Sewer Exit Hall:
One of our newest environments is the Sewer Exit Hall, which will be a fun traversal puzzle utilizing a unique piece of technology you will find somewhere in the game. We are incredibly excited to start testing zones like this, so be sure to check back for information on how YOU can start playtesting! Of course, this zone still needs a final decoration and lighting pass to get the moody, dark atmosphere featured in Chapter 01, which is something we will be focusing on shortly.
Ventilation Tunnels:
One of the first places you'll visit in Chapter 02 is this ventilation tunnel. Here, you will find interesting bits about your team, be introduced to new threats to worry about, and learn things that will become quite useful for getting through tough areas later on. This zone is currently undergoing its lighting pass, and we cannot wait to see how it turns out.
We've been hard at work designing and implementing the animations for the Wrist Device, a prototype short-range teleportation device powered by liquid Hume. This device will fundamentally change how traversal in the game works, and we are so excited for players to try it out. In this video, we can see how teleportation works, as well as the need to recharge the device from puddles of liquid Hume in the environment.
This is still a relatively early WIP, and we are currently working on its visual and sound effects, which we should be sharing in another update shortly. The Wrist Device will be one of the most critical mechanics to get feedback on in the upcoming playtest, so be sure to be there to let us know what you think!
Another new mechanic working directly in tandem with the Wrist Device is the Scranton Reality Anchors (SRAs). These large devices are capable of anchoring nearby reality, causing objects in an unstable reality area to fall back to the floor. However, they are also capable of disrupting your Wrist Device, which will introduce a new decision for players to make. Disabling a reality anchor can have consequences on the environment that are bigger than one might expect...
The first flying enemy to be added to the game is SCP-149. These creepy bugs will be scattered around Chapter 02 and beyond and will serve as an environmental hazard that can (and maybe should) be avoided. These creatures are not only capable of swarming you to cause a lot of damage, but they are also able to infect you with a special virus -- which we will see below. These creatures are relatively docile until you threaten their nest, so it's wise to simply leave them alone.
Please note: These creatures are still very WIP and their attacks, damage amounts, and aggression will be balanced through several playtesting sessions as we proceed throughout development.
Those that venture a little too close to an SCP-149 hive will find out very quickly that these creatures are no joke, as they can infect you with a virus that becomes progressively more severe through several distinct stages, until death eventually comes for you. Luckily, you'll be able to craft and find prototype cures for this infectious disease -- though those cures have problems of their own...
Something we showcased in a prior update was the ability to scan field symbols, and we have now added several new ones that can be found and scanned to give details and hints about the world around you. These symbols can provide interesting bits of information, mission objectives, locations, and other useful data that will help immerse you in the ruined remains of Site-113. The scanning mechanic is also being tested for use on SCPs and other objects in the environment to help gather useful intelligence.
Marking a milestone in Chapter 02's development, we have begun to create the intro animations that will start this chapter off with a literal bang. We cannot wait to create the other sequences and animations that will elevate this chapter to be very memorable. As usual, we look forward to hearing your feedback on all of the upcoming sequences as we make them, so be sure to leave any thoughts in the comments!
Site-113's MTF Squad:
Site-113, like any Foundation site, has a distinct squad of MTF Soldiers assigned to it. Due to the unique environmental circumstances of Site-113, the local squad is equipped with specialized suits capable of withstanding the pressure changes of space as well as high-speed impacts from low-gravity debris. This also helps them survive encounters with the extremely hostile anomalies Site-113 is known for housing. Interestingly enough, what's left of these soldiers are all under the command of one individual, who you will meet as part of a really fun sequence we have planned!
Assistant Robot:
A new character is making its debut in all its robotic glory: the Assistant Robot. These units will be scattered throughout the game and are sometimes interactable, offering dialogue or even missions should you choose to accept them. Helping these bots can be highly rewarding, so if you happen across one, make sure you see what it has to say.
Upcoming Character Teasers:
We are currently in production on short teaser trailers for two SCPs that will be making their debut in Chapter 2. While we're excited to showcase both, one of them is an iconic anomaly we know the community has been waiting for, and we cannot wait to reveal what we have in store!
To be the first to see these trailers the moment they drop, make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel:
We are approaching a very exciting point in development: we are going to be starting the first early round of PLAYTESTING! Since many of the core story sequences are still being worked on, this first playtest will be reserved for our highest-tier backers so they can help us sniff out major design issues and bugs before we open it up to everyone else who has Early Access playtesting in their tier.
However, if you want to join us for playtesting, you are able to do that here with the $50 tier and beyond:
(If you already backed at $50 and above, then you are good to go! If you need any help upgrading your tier, please send us a message on PledgeManager, and we will get it handled for you.)
What's Next?
For the rest of this month and leading into our next update, our focus will be on several key areas: completing the new SCP and MTF models, rigorously testing the Wrist Device and SRA mechanics, and finalizing the architecture and props that will fully encapsulate Chapter 02. Alongside this, we'll be actively testing all these new mechanics and creating a ton more animations and VFX as we start piecing together the exciting sequential events planned for this new chapter.
Chapter 02 is shaping up to be a really exciting installment, packed with many new features and elements suggested by the plethora of feedback we got from Chapter 01! This chapter will introduce a significant amount of new SCP lore as well as SCPs to interact with, new horror elements, and provide much deeper background details on the overarching story of the SCP Foundation and the mysteries of Site-113.
We genuinely can't wait for everyone to get their hands on it for playtesting and to hear your feedback. We'll have a formal date announcement for that playtesting phase in the coming months, so please be on the lookout!
PS: Don't forget to get your playtesting access so you can get first dibs on playing Chapter 02 before it goes live!

Hey everyone!
Since the last update, we have been hard at work creating the new environments, characters, and enemies that will be making their way into Chapter 02. Things have been going awesome, so let's get into the new content!
The Overseer's and Secretary's Office:
Locked away deep within the main area of the Central Hub lies the heavily brutalist Overseer's Office, nestled away behind the contrastingly mundane Secretary's Office. These are two critical locations you will explore after an extremely unique sequence. The information you'll uncover in these areas is not only extremely important to the story, but you will also gain access to one of the most useful tools in the entire game!
The Camp Gate:
Sealing off the rest of the Residential Zone from the main interior of Aquaponics lies the Camp Gate. This is one of the few remaining entrances used to access the MTF Camp, which is led by Amanda, whom we saw in a previous update. The gate is heavily guarded by automated security systems, so stealth and timing are paramount in this area.
Interrogation Room:
A frigid meat freezer located in a dark, desolate place serves as the perfect spot to "coerce" information out of would-be spies, traitors, and anybody else deemed a threat by what remains of the Foundation personnel left in Site-113.
Residential Zone West Wing:
With most of the main architecture of the West Wing completed, we decided now would be a good time to experiment with what an external look at the inside of Site-113 would be like. This has culminated in a beautiful skybox that allows players to see every single zone within Site-113 from the inside of the Residential Zone, which is canonically located in the middle of the interior dome.
There still needs to be lighting adjustments made, but the current lights from the skybox are accurate to the zone they represent and cast a very ominous but soft glow onto most of the external areas of the level. These will, however, be toned down and ultimately blended in a future update.
The Museum:
The Museum is now finished architecturally and is awaiting a decoration and lighting pass to be made to it later on. This area is going to be filled with lore, puzzles, and some interesting items that will be quite useful if you find them. You'll also be able to see an interesting timeline of Site-113's history, which will help contextualize some of the core events that led to its creation as well as those of the SCP Foundation as a whole.
Central Zone + Elevator [Heavily WIP]:
In the center of the Residential Zone lies the Central Hub, which is a massive multi-story area featuring multiple rooms, unique puzzles, and plenty of enemies to keep you on your toes. This area is still heavily WIP and will need to have a lighting overhaul as well as a large decoration pass to fill up all of the side rooms and other areas that will make this place quite the set piece to explore in Chapter 02.
One of the special pieces in here is the new elevator, which is still WIP but is going to have a special sequence involving it that we are extremely excited for players to experience when they are playing through the level. This sequence will feature a very well-known SCP, too, and it should be quite interesting to solve.
Ventilation Hall 02 [WIP]:
We have been designing several new areas like this ventilation area that will help players learn an upcoming mechanic. These areas feature a lot of verticality and openness to support the new movement mechanic that will be the main focus here, helping players learn its usefulness in solving puzzles and generally traversing the map.
Upcoming Area — The Plaza [Heavy WIP]:
One of the next areas we will be working on is the North Wing Plaza. This area is very open relative to the ones preceding it and will feature multiple paths, changing level structure, and plenty of interesting bits of lore and other things that should make this place very memorable, not to mention the stunning views of the Military Zone that dominate its skyline.
New Museum Props [SCP-093 and SCP-148]:
Something we have been working on recently has been a couple of special props for the museum and other areas around the map. One of these special props is related to a critical event in The SCP Foundation's history and marks the cornerstone of something that fundamentally shaped where they would go.
The keen-eyed among you will also notice that we have officially created two new SCPs, with SCP-148 and SCP-093 now having physical models in the game. While we don't want to spoil what they will be used for later on, we think a lot of people will really enjoy the current plans we have for them!
New Enemies [Security Turrets]:
We've officially finished the model for the new Security Turrets, which will be featured around the game, and are extremely happy with how they have turned out. The logic for these new enemies is already done, and all we need to do now is create some animations for them and link them up to the system to be ready to cause problems for players that get a little too adventurous.
We're now in the process of animating the special robotic soldier that will be featured around Site-113. This is going to be, among other things, the newest enemy type that you'll be able to face in Chapter 02 and beyond. These units will be extremely hard to kill, but through careful upgrades, stealth, and some luck, taking one down will be highly rewarding.
Once we get to the playtesting phase, feedback on the difficulty of these hostiles will be critical, and we are very excited to actually implement them into the level.
New Friend? [Assistant Android WIP]:
Keeping with the robotic theme, we decided to create a special type of robot called the Assistant Android. These units will be featured around the map in various circumstances, and we are planning on designing a special puzzle around them that will be quite rewarding if you manage to complete it during your time in Chapter 02. We'll be sharing more about these units once their model is completed in the next update for those curious.
A new mechanic upcoming in Chapter 02 will be these crafting benches, which will let you craft more complex upgrades and items, and even perform necessary repairs to your gear. These benches will use the same recipes that can be found in Chapter 01.
Sometimes, it will actually be beneficial to craft an item you can craft in your inventory at the bench instead, due to it being more efficient and using fewer resources for the same item, so be sure to watch out for them and use them to keep yourself stocked up as efficiently as possible.
We still need to make the VFX for printing weapons and items with these, but we will be working on those shortly and have some cool ideas that we think will make these stand out as a great new component to the overall experience.
One of the newest core mechanical features to be added to the game is this new skill tree, which will be introduced to give players a choice in which new environmental mechanics they'd like to pursue. Some of the unlockable mechanics will allow for breaking certain glass, hacking certain larger objects, and even moving large objects out of the way to allow for different paths to be unlocked.
This system is being designed to reward players for investing in certain skills and will allow some puzzles to be interacted with in different ways, potentially making them much easier as a reward for choosing a decisive path through the skill tree and for exploring the environment to find the items required to unlock new skills. The UI and associated skills are still heavily WIP, but you can expect to see them iterated on and updated as we go through the development cycle for Chapter 02.
Since reality is quite literally breaking down within Site-113, we wanted to create some new VFX that would help encapsulate this feeling. Two new ones we have made are the Reality Waves with their signature HUD distortion effect, and these new Reality Shards, which are effectively breaks in reality that have been occurring all across the facility as a result of something you will start to uncover as you progress through the game.
We are also planning on doing some other effects to showcase reality destabilizing and will have much more to show on that front as we continue. However, these effects should make the environments feel much more lively and thematically consistent with the notion that reality is breaking down.
Want ongoing early playtest access?:
Want to join our playtesting team and get access to builds that never expire? Backers at the $50+ tier on Kickstarter or PledgeManager receive permanent access to all test builds, including the upcoming Chapter 02.
For the rest of this month and leading up to our next update, our focus will be on several key areas: completing the new robot models and putting together more of the architecture that will fully encapsulate Chapter 02. Alongside this, we'll be actively testing all these new mechanics, plus creating a ton more animations and VFX as we start piecing together the exciting sequential events planned for this new chapter.
We will also be showcasing a WIP system for the newest SCP enemy to be featured in the game! This upcoming one will be one of the several new SCP enemies that will be a core focus of Chapter 02 and in future chapters, so be sure to check the next announcement!
Chapter 02 is currently shaping up to be a really exciting installment, packed with many new features and elements suggested by YOUR valuable feedback! It will introduce a significant amount of new SCP lore, new horror elements, and provide much deeper background details on the overarching story of the SCP Foundation and the mysteries of Site-113.
We genuinely can't wait for everyone to get their hands on it for playtesting and to hear your feedback. We'll have a formal date announcement for that playtesting phase in the coming months, so please be on the lookout!

It's been two months since the biggest event in our studio's history: the official Early Access launch of SCP: Fragmented Minds, and we could not be happier with the reception so far! The game is holding an incredible 93% positive rating on Steam with well over 600 reviews, completely blowing away our expectations.
We want to thank everyone for the amazing support and also outline what players can expect in the upcoming months as we gear up for Chapter 02. Let's dive into what's coming!
Reflecting on Chapter 01's Launch
The launch for Chapter 01 went very well, and we were thrilled by the number of players, streamers, and YouTubers who decided to give the game a try! Watching people play live during that first week was extremely helpful. Combined with the feedback from the many players who joined our Discord and used the Steam discussion pages, we managed to patch out quite a few bugs very quickly!
These critical bug reports helped significantly polish the experience, and we are truly grateful for everyone who played, provided feedback, or simply told friends about the project. Your contributions will continue to be extraordinarily valuable throughout the game's development, and we can't wait to bring you Chapter 02 and take this journey all the way to 1.0 and beyond!
Chapter 01 Feedback
The feedback we received on the first chapter was phenomenal and has helped immensely in planning the pacing, SCPs, and story elements that will feature in Chapter 02 and beyond. However, we have also made several changes to Chapter 01, set to be introduced in a small update shortly. These adjustments aim to improve tension, music, and environmental interactions, as well as hint at a particular character featured in upcoming chapters – we'll let you discover these specifics once the update is launched!
As development continues, you can also expect some small adjustments to Chapter 01 to ensure everything lines up correctly with future content. Rest assured, the chapter itself won't see major changes to its story or encounters; most tweaks will focus on performance enhancements and atmosphere.
Chapter 02's Plans
About two months prior to launching Chapter 01, the team began working on Chapter 02. This next chapter picks up right where the first left off, finally letting players take their first steps into Site-113 – where the majority of the game will unfold. This is where we plan to introduce the rest of the story, crank up the horror, bring in SCPs you know and love (plus some new ones!), and introduce more gameplay mechanics that we are VERY excited about!
Chapter 02 will feature several key new elements, which we'll go over below, alongside showcasing some new concept art and fresh environments.
Chapter 02 [Tunnels WIP]
In the tunnels, players will learn some interesting new lore that will prove VERY important later on. They will also use core mechanics again in a short interaction, building upon them with a new addition to their mechanical roster – but we'll leave exactly what that is for you to discover when you play.
Chapter 02 [West Wing WIP]
The West Wing is one of the earlier parts of Chapter 02 and introduces some interesting new interactions, along with the new, more open level design we have adopted to increase player choice in the paths they'd like to take. This approach ensures both stealth and combat styles are supported and also allows players to open up their own paths by interacting with elements in the environment.
Chapter 02 [The Museum]
In Chapter 02, we plan on massively expanding the SCP, Site-113, and SCP Foundation lore. Within the museum, you can find interesting details about Site-113's history, as well as specifics on the objects that have shaped the SCP Foundation into what we know it as today. There will also be side puzzles and interesting interactions within the museum, making it a compelling place to explore and begin piecing together the larger narrative.
Chapter 02 [The Elevator]
Part of the new Central Residential Area contains a very important elevator featuring a fun sequence that we cannot wait for players to experience! Work on the central areas is also nearly complete, which means Chapter 02 is currently coming together well ahead of schedule!
You'll see some additional map changes included in the next update too, so stick around to see those when they drop!
New Characters & Mechanics
New Character [A-34 Android]
Among the newest characters coming to the game are these autonomous A-34 androids, lovingly known as "Reapers" among Site-113 personnel. These androids will be heavily armored targets – extremely difficult yet highly rewarding to take on when encountered. As you progress through the game, you will also find additional tools and weapons to deal with them, so always keep an ear out for their signature mechanical movement.
New Character [MTF Nu-1 "Aegis Protocol"]
We're also excited to introduce MTF forces in Chapter 02 and beyond. They will help tell the story of Site-113 and appear in the environment as discoverable bodies, lending weight and atmosphere to the surroundings – and perhaps even serving as an infection vector for a certain creature later on...
These characters are also planned for the multiplayer component down the line, once development shifts to that experience. For now, however, we remain squarely focused on the singleplayer story to avoid diluting either experience, as we work to make the campaign as interesting and fun as possible.
The hacking PDA can now hack certain cameras, allowing players to gain entry into otherwise inaccessible places through a new feature called camera chaining. This enables more optional puzzles and increased world interaction, since you'll be able to more accurately see and assess threats before diving headfirst into them.
The PDA is also due to receive an upgrade for scanning certain objects. This scan can provide more details on the object and may even assign a new side mission related to it.
One of the newest upgrades introduced in Chapter 01 (inspired by significant player feedback) is the enhanced weapon system. This will be built upon further in Chapter 02 with the addition of Crafting Benches and new weapons/tools to upgrade. This system allows you to create powerful modifications for certain weapons, potentially granting unique effects during combat.
Crafting Benches will be the main hubs where you'll upgrade future equipment, repair weapons, and ultimately create the tools you rely on for survival. You'll continue to find blueprints throughout the game too, so check every corner – you never know where you might find something extremely powerful!
The Art Gallery and Community Events
Located within the decrepit walls of Chapter 02 lies the art gallery... This place was once the premier location for Site-113 and the SCP Foundation to display works by many fine artists from Earth and beyond. However, it now lies dormant and without purpose – which is where YOU might come in!
We're excited to explore the possibility of new Community Events! These would allow players like you to win cool prizes and even get your art featured in-game for thousands (and perhaps one day, many more) to see!
Details about community events will be posted across our social media channels, so be sure to follow us there so you don't miss out!
What's Next?
We are beyond thrilled with the reception to Chapter 01! We've been eagerly watching the many videos made by YouTubers and streamers, and this feedback has given us a very clear idea of what can be improved and where Chapter 02 and beyond should head in terms of gameplay and story elements that tie everything together with the SCP Foundation.
Chapter 02 will delve much deeper into SCPs, lore, and game mechanics, and we cannot wait for everyone to get their hands on it at launch.
If you're already a backer with this perk, you will have ongoing playtest access!
Closing
Thank you, everyone, for your amazing support for this project and for sharing your ideas, struggles, and fun moments with us – it has been incredible to watch this game and community come alive, and we are so excited to take everything to the next level in future chapters! You can expect more exciting trailers and other content updates in the coming months, so be sure to follow along!

Hey everyone!
Below we have our first-ever hotfix for SCP: Fragmented Minds. We have been working extremely hard over the last week watching videos, reading reviews, and checking discussion posts to see the biggest points of pain for players and we have since edited some areas of the level and added various features that we think will address some of the biggest issues players were facing on Day 1.
There will be a couple more patches for stuttering, general performance and more coming too so these are just the start to a slew of big fixes that will be in Chapter 01 and you can expect many more throughout the life of the game!
NOTE: This update is NOT save compatible due to changes in the map, if you have a current save of the game -- make sure to play on New Game so you don't get locked by map changes conflicting with your save data!
Bug Fixes and Improvements:
Crashes and Stability: - Fixed 14 crashes across various areas of the game. - Applied a fix for sublevels sometimes failing to load. - Fixed an issue where a save could get corrupted in the Skybridge area.
AI Behavior: - Fixed an issue where the Elder and Scout AI would constantly shuffle when trying to rotate toward the player while directly in front of them. - Fixed AI visual detection through walls. - Fixed an issue where the Elder would send the player to a random location during the tackle attack. - World objects (e.g., fire extinguishers) now properly alert AI when hitting walls or the ground. - Explosions now correctly alert nearby AI.
Gameplay and Interactions: - Improved door interactions: Doors can now be closed by looking through the frame. - Fixed power core sockets not loading correctly under certain conditions. - Increased wrench range by 20 centimeters. - Fixed an issue where the inventory could disappear after the collapsed hallway cutscene. - Dev Note: This was a rare but serious issue that we couldn’t reproduce internally. As a safeguard, we’ve added a save spot before the cutscene, creating a separate save slot players can return to if their inventory disappears. - Exiting a computer screen playing an audio log no longer stops the audio log. - Starting a different audio log from the game menu while another is playing will now stop the currently playing log. - Removed an extraneous button from the Parking Garage. - Removed interaction prompts and lights from most of the Hangar’s doors. - Fixed an issue where the energy drink was healing instead of restoring stamina, as described.
UI and Accessibility: - Added an option for keyboard users to customize PDA input bindings. - Improved elevator interaction text to clarify when there’s no power or if the elevator is in motion. - Added hints to the Codex for better player guidance.
World Polish and Improvements:
Environment Detailing: - Added more detail to the Gen Room, including papers on the floor in security/office rooms, grunge in empty areas, and objects on previously empty shelves. - Adjusted the blue lights in the Server Room ceiling to make the main screens stand out more. - Added flares to a few containers, allowing players to use flares before crafting them. - Fixed a random cart prop in the Gen Room hallway that was clipping into a wall.
Lighting and Visuals: - Changed the vent light in the Gen Room puzzle area to blue for better visibility. - Made the light in the vent above the hallway more visible to help players notice it when sneaking past the last Scout enemy. - Dimmed the orange light shining on the map in the Flooded Tunnels to prevent it from washing out the image. - Adjusted the glass transparency in the Hangar Control Room by 20%.
Collision and Navigation: - Edited collision around the biomass in Storage Room B area. - Fixed collision of the Broken Fan Cover and Semi Trucks in the chase sequence to prevent players from getting stuck. - Adjusted collision around lamps in the platforming section in the chase sequence area. - Added collision volumes behind Pressure Tanks in the Transition Room to prevent players from jumping behind them and getting stuck. - Edited collision around rails in the Chase Sequence tunnels to prevent players from getting stuck. - Fixed collision in the second Semi Truck in the platforming area to make mantling easier. - Adjusted the Gate in the Hangar Lounge to fix a small crack in the wall. - Fixed the door at the bottom of the staircase in the Gen Room, which was 10% too small. - Added collision volumes around the blocked path next to the platforming section entrance.
Gameplay Tweaks: - Reduced the damage from electric water in the Collapsed Tunnel chase sequence to account for players falling in more often. - Made some jumps in the platforming section slightly easier. - Added a second Fire Extinguisher at the start of the second half of the game for experimentation. - Covered the bottoms of Semi Trucks in the chase sequence to prevent players from hiding under them. - Ensured all barrels could be blown up when hitting them with the wrench. - Fixed the Fire Extinguisher in the left side entrance not being able to be picked up. - Flipped monitor textures in the Storage Room A office rooms. - Prevented players from skipping the Crane Controls in Storage Room B. - Edited the layout of the Elder Combat Room to prevent players from jumping onto the Pressure Tank and avoiding the Elder. -Made the Security Room in the Collapsed Hallway area darker
Audio and Props: - Moved the Beacon closer to the exit door in the Hangar to make it appear as if the audio is coming from it rather than over the comms. - Changed the first Hacking Router in Chapter 01 to have a blue light (matching all other routers). - Added shutters to the Security Room of the Gen Room area to make it feel less exposed Miscellaneous: - Fixed leaf textures clipping through the wall in the first Locker Room on the left side.
This update focuses on improving stability, fixing large bugs, and enhancing the overall polish of the game. We hope these changes make your experience smoother and more enjoyable. As always, please continue to share your feedback with us since it’s invaluable in helping us make the game the best it can be!

Your support means everything!
While it may seem mundane, we STRONGLY encourage you to leave an honest review on the game after you play Chapter 01 as it helps us massively with visibility on Steam and also helps other players understand where things are in the game.
It would also mean everything to us to share the game to your friends and tell people about it! Word of mouth on social media means everything and we absolutely want to hear your thoughts and ideas for things to add to future chapters!
Be sure to follow our Twitter and YouTube so you can watch our upcoming dev streams and see cool new things coming to Chapter 02 and beyond!

The wait is almost over! We are incredibly excited to share that we are finally ready to enter the Early Access phase of SCP: Fragmented Minds on January 27th! After a long and intense journey, the time has come for you to step into the mysterious halls of Site-113 and experience the story that awaits. You'll start to encounter iconic SCPs, unravel the mysteries of the Foundation’s darkest secrets, and meet some interesting characters.
This first chapter is your gateway into the story, creatures, and overarching mission that will define your journey across Site-113. We’ve completely overhauled the mechanics, NPCs, and creatures based on your feedback from the demo two years ago, and we can’t wait to see how you engage with this brand-new experience.
Of course, this is just the beginning, and we will be adding more chapters down the line as they get developed. Early Access players will play a key role in shaping the game as we continue to develop and release additional chapters. Your feedback will help us craft a truly unique and memorable experience that does justice to the amazing world set up in the SCP universe.
Don't miss out!Add SCP: Fragmented Minds to your wishlist with the button on the top right to stay updated on when it launches, and join our Discord to connect with other players, ask questions, and share your thoughts on the game with the developers directly!
With your help, we will make this a truly incredible experience.
Thank you so much for following along with us these last few years, and we will see what's left of you in Site-113!
