Paralives Patch Notes 0.1.8 After 0.1.7, which contained a good amount of improvements and bug fixes, we scale things back in order to prioritize optimization and long term development. As mentioned within the public roadmap , we are now moving on to our first big Paralives updat
After 0.1.7, which contained a good amount of improvements and bug fixes, we scale things back in order to prioritize optimization and long term development.
As mentioned within the public roadmap, we are now moving on to our first big Paralives update! This means patches will be spaced out a bit more than usual as we work our way towards the end of year free major update which will include exciting new features and content. Also, we will still be pushing out hotfixes as needed when we solve important issues.
New
Alternative Camera: To give players more options, we have included an alternative camera mode that might be more familiar to some lifesim enthusiasts. Notably, this allows players to rotate the camera with middle click and scroll their view with right click. You can enable this new ‘‘Classic’’ camera in the options menu.
More Columns in Paramaker and Build Mode: Players can now extend Build Mode and Paramaker menus up to 7 and 4 columns respectively.
Embarrassed Animations: We have updated the embarrassed animations to convey the emotion with a bit more accuracy.
Bug Fixes
Para Info Tab: Acquiring knowledge about your fellow Paras is relatively easy, but the information did not display properly.
Turn On TV and Radio: Turning on TVs or radios had seemingly stopped working in the past few patches. Doing the interaction should now open the device to a random channel/station.
Children Sitting Animations: Children sitting on couches should now only use the appropriate animations.
Dead Paras Household: 0.1.7 had introduced an issue where Households do not vacate their homes after the death of all of their Paras, this should now be resolved.
Time Advancement in Paramaker: With some manipulations, it was possible to make time progress in the Paramaker, eventually leading to the death of Paras during their creation.
Various Visual Fixes: Runaway mirrors, faulty roof tiles, shops losing their promotional materials. We had to jump in and make sure everyone in Melino was satisfied with their homes.
Various Optimisations: In an ongoing effort to reduce lag spikes and stutters, we have optimised the code when Parafolk animations are loaded, when the newspaper is generated and when buildings in the way of the camera fade out.

We are still hard at work trying to find proper reproduction steps for many ongoing issues, as always, we thank you for your patience and all of your feedback.

New Babies Visual Update: Our Parababies have received a well deserved upgrade. As much as we loved our biblically accurate babies, we have seen the feedback and have decided to update their look to make them cuter and less Bobby Hill coded. Intimacy Update: Getting intimate in P
Babies Visual Update: Our Parababies have received a well deserved upgrade. As much as we loved our biblically accurate babies, we have seen the feedback and have decided to update their look to make them cuter and less Bobby Hill coded.
Intimacy Update: Getting intimate in Paralives can be a bit convoluted at times, you can now initiate intimacy directly through clicking on a bed or a current partner.
Food Storing System: Players can now put food inside of refrigerators, avoiding early spoilage and making it easier to have something to snack on in the morning before work!
Street Addresses: Melino now has street names and addresses to make it easier to keep track of which lot is which! We’re entering the modern era.
Assign Bed Slots: Paras can now be assigned to a bed. Parafolks will then instinctually go to sleep in their own bed.
Move in With Friends: On friendship level 3 or more, Paras will now get the opportunity to ask friends to move in together through Together Cards.
Filters in the Paramaker: You can now search clothes and hairstyles with a few optional filters.
Drink Coffee: Coffee machines are no longer only aesthetic! You can now drink coffee which will have you ignore your sleep need for 2 hours while draining your bathroom need.
Lights Revamp: We have revisited how our lamps light their surroundings.
Hug Friends and Family: Hugs are universal, they shouldn’t be restricted to lovers only. If a Para is either part of your family or has a friendship level of 3 or higher, you can select the hug interaction by clicking on them.
Invite Paras to Current Lot: You can now invite Paras directly to a visited lot through your phone.
Lifespan Adjustments: We have rebalanced lifespans, adding a bit more days to adult stages and trimming everything pre-teen and below. An elder with a baby should now normally be able to live long enough to not have their child taken away by social services upon their death. The average lifespan has gone from 98 days up to 112.
Display Prices for Items in Your Inventory: Mostly for artists and scavengers, we have added item value when you hover or select items in your inventory.
Play Dorfromantik: To celebrate our latest Steam bundle, we’ve added Dorfromantik to our collection of playable games!
New Ground Textures: Players can now decorate their homes with a variety of natural floors inspired by our terrain painting tools.
Food Information on Hover: By hovering over a plate of food, the game now displays its quality and time before spoilage.
Babies Born in Parents Arms: Babies should no longer spawn on the pavement on birth (except for twins or triplets, in which case one will spawn in your arms and the others on the floor).
Vegetarian Options in Restaurants: Each restaurant should now have at least one choice for vegetarian Paras.
Display Townies on Town Map: We have added an optional toggle inside of the option menu to track townies in real time.
Lot Painting Limits: We have lightly extended the limit of lots to allow terrain painting that goes slightly out of bounds. This is mostly to make sure players can connect their lots to the sidewalk.
Five New Patterns in the Paramaker: A few clothes have gained new patterned swatches as well.
Breaking up Abruptly Ends the Conversation: Ending a relationship in a brutal manner will also end any ongoing conversation and group interaction to give you both time to cool off.
Listen to Music: We have adjusted Para behavior when listening to music on the radio. You can now either listen to music or dance to it, with each using different animations to properly differentiate the two actions.
Time Inconsistencies: The speed of time should now remain constant even after 70 in-game days, no longer slowing down and breaking gameplay.
Advanced Transform Tool: Should now be much more reliable and less prone to breaking the position of items upon reloading the game.
Unusable Item When Cooking: We have adjusted the wording for when items are busy to ‘’Item is in use’’ to offer more clarity to players.
‘‘Do X for Y Amount of Time’’ Goals: These goals should progress normally and be completable.
Baby Genetics: Genetics should now be able to generate baby faces that account for their parents in the Paramaker. In addition to this, sliders applied to babies will affect their look in their next life stages.
Family Member Label: We have refined how the game detects people who are related. Paras should no longer have any romantic feelings towards their family members (ie: grandparents, cousins and uncles) and any romantic action towards them should no longer be possible.
Food Rotation Fixes: Meals should always be oriented properly in a Para’s hands.
Moving Out Without Your Children: Parents should no longer leave their kids behind when asked to move in. We’re looking at you Sebastian.
Dead Paras: They should no longer remain lying down in the street for days on end.
Tunnel Access: One of our fast travel tunnels was unreachable through some angles, it should now be usable at all times.
Sleep Talking: Paras should no longer continue conversation while sleeping.
Babies on the Floor: Paras should instinctually prioritize putting babies in cribs instead of on the ground when an action that can’t be completed with a baby in your arms is queued.
Feed Toddler already in high chair: Players should now be able to feed toddlers that are already sitting in a high chair.
We are aware that players are still dealing with mod issues, it is an expected result that some mods may eventually stop working as we update Paralives all throughout Early Access.
NPC Paras will often walk through walls when finishing a conversation.

Paralives Patch Notes 0.1.6 Revamped Vacation days: Players now start a new job with vacation days, and can now accumulate vacation days while working and ask for days off or paid leaves over the phone. This also varies depending on the chosen Storyteller. Long Chair Animations:

Mirror Rendering Issues: Paras will now appear properly in mirrors.

Maximum Para Level: When hitting personality level 12, your Para level changes color for added clarity and you no longer acquire experience as 12 is the maximum personality level.
Train Voices: Each household can now be heard in the tutorial train.
Bug Fixes
Goodbye Charlie: New Paras are now correctly deleted from save files when a player exits without saving after their creation.
Custom Images on Mac: Mac players can now also add custom images to the appropriate assets.
Giant Mushroom Pasta: The mushroom pasta meal should no longer randomly become huge.
Bulldozing Lots: It no longer freezes the game for a moment.
Proposing to Yourself: Fixed an instance where a Para could propose to themselves in the Together Cards.
Wrinkles on Children: Children will no longer acquire wrinkles when aging up from the toddler stage.
Item Placement Crash: Stacking certain items had the potential to crash Paralives, we have fixed that issue.
Paras Unloading: Paras should now properly unload from Melino once they reach a town exit point.
Town Event Skill Bonus: Paras now have their skill learning speed boosted when participating in town events.
Story Card Availability Save and Reload: Saving and reloading a game while a story card notification is up will no longer delete it upon loading the game.
“You Have Many Plans for Tomorrow”: This story card should now provide 3 random wants on selection.
“Make 200 Paradimes”: This Want should now work with more accuracy and account for selling and buying items.
“Big House 2” Life Goal: This Life Goal can now properly be selected and will not add “Big House 3” instead.
Hopscotch Forever: Playing hopscotch is now properly cancelled when you need to go to school or work.
Placing Lots from Library: Players can no longer put down library lots that are bigger than their actual lot space.
“Level up Outdoorsiness skill”: Paras no longer feel the need to level up this non-existent skill.
Adults Leveling Up Speech and Potty: It is no longer possible for adults to get the Want to level up either of those skills.
Among Us Enthusiasts: Computers should no longer have Among Us playing by default on their screen.
Various Clothing Fixes: Corrected a few assets that were not displaying as intended.
Various Localization Fixes: We have fixed a few broken strings that were not displaying text properly in some languages.
Translation Issues: Fixed a few typos and a few untranslated strings.
Curtain Scaling: Adjusted a scaling issue on a set of curtains.
Known Issues
Time Inconsistencies: In-game time seems to gradually slow down after about 70 in-game days. We are currently working on a fix but in the meantime, you can adjust your time per minute in the Storyteller settings if this issue ever happens to you.

New Smaller save files: New save files will now be 30MB in average instead of 500MB. Multiple autosaves: The autosave feature will now keep the 3 last versions of each save file, allowing players to go back to a previous version in the Load Game menu. Steam Cloud: Save files can

Lot Changes: Players can now revert lots to their original look.
Paramaker Music: When zoomed-in, the music changes to a simpler, softer version of the track to create a feeling of closeness with your Para.
Edit Appearance: Players will now be able to freely edit their Paras by looking into a mirror or by going to the hospital and pharmacy. This includes all options available in the Paramaker except for labels, personalities, and lifestages.
New picture frame artworks: About 40 new images have been added to frame artwork.
More Custom Image Assets: You can now add custom images to mugs, rugs, skateboards, curtains, cushions and flags.
Hand and Bath Towel Items: Added 4 new items that were sorely needed for bathrooms.
Mods Quality of Life: Added a toggle all on/off button in the mods menu.
Train Paramaker Visual Change: We have removed the panel in favor of a set of curtains to favorise readability.
New baby presets: Added new babies to the randomizer
Updated Label UI: Made light adjustments to the Label UI in the Paramaker
Late to Work: Being late to work (or school) by cancelling the Go To Work action now incurs a performance penalty.
Bug Fixes
Paras that are in a relationship will no longer become embarrassed when using the toilet while their partner is in the bathroom.
Some missing animations from eating food have been corrected.
Art Bundle 2 is now correctly fixed. We have also lowered the value of the painting needed for the completion of the bundle.
Fixed some more edge cases where fires couldn’t be put out on certain lots.
Water recyclers, wind turbines or solar panels being on your terrain now reduce your bills.
Propose and Elope for the Happy Marriage life goal should now be completed properly.
Cancelling Go to Work/School no longer queues up the action every 20 minutes.
Roberto should now properly show up as the master of most skills in the town hall.
Fixed an issue where some Player Paras ended up being unloaded from the game.
Removed teeth from all baby presets.
Buying a lot while sleeping or sitting will no longer spawn your Paras in these positions.
Para nicknames are now saved when a household is saved in your library.
Grass patches that were impossible to delete have been removed from some lots.
Know issues
Here are some of the issues we are investigating:
Some paras will get jealous when kissing their own partner
Some players are unable to create new swatches for clothes and assets.
Canvases disappear when starting or completing a painting.
Some external mods and plugins may make all mods invisible both in menus and in game.
External plugins and mods may not always be compatible with the latest game updates right away, and risk causing issues. Players should consider this when adding anything new to the game.
