Today, we have an important update regarding the next chapter of our hero's journey: the sequel, "UNDEFEATED: Genesis".
Update on the Release Schedule
Today, we have an important update to share. We have made the decision to move the release window of UNDEFEATED: Genesis from 2026 to early 2027.

This was not an easy decision, especially when thinking about everyone in our community who has supported us for so long.

Our goal is to create the ultimate superhero experience. We want players to feel the overwhelming power, speed, and freedom that heroes from comics and manga inspire. To achieve that, the combat, superpowers, exploration, and story all need to come together at the highest possible level.

After careful consideration, we believe a little more time is needed to bring that experience to PlayStation 5 and PC in the best possible form.

We are committed to delivering UNDEFEATED: Genesis in early 2027.

We are very excited to be able to make this announcement to you today.
Our game 'UNDEFEATED' which has been downloaded over 2 million times worldwide will be released not only on PC (Steam) but also on PlayStation 5.
In addition, it has also been decided that the latest title currently under development, 'UNDEFEATED: Genesis', will also be released on PS5.
Both games will be released by Chorus Worldwide, the publisher of the Steam version 'UNDEFEATED: Genesis'.

About UNDEFEATED
'UNDEFEATED' was originally a student project from Vantan Game Academy in Japan that was released for free on Steam in August 2019. As of September 2024, it has been downloaded over 2 million times worldwide.
The aim of the game was to make players feel like a real superhero, flying freely around a city and wielding awesome powers to save the inhabitants with a simple and intuitive control method.
'UNDEFEATED' has received high praise from many superhero fans and gamers, especially from international players.
After graduating from Vantan Game Academy, the development team gained experience in the gaming industry and then reunited at Indie-us Games in Osaka, Japan, where they are currently working on 'UNDEFEATED: Genesis,' the latest installment in the UNDEFEATED series, with a planned release in 2026.

What's 'UNDEFEATED: Genesis'?
'UNDEFEATED: Genesis' is a superhero action game set on a massive alien planet.
Developed in Unreal Engine 5, the game builds on 'UNDEFEATED' and the feeling of being a superhero, but is vastly scaled up in scope, technology, and story. In 'UNDEFEATED: Genesis', players will experience flying across a huge environment, developing and using astounding superpowers, and experiencing a rich storyline.
The game is being developed with the intention of delivering a true "superhero experience" to fans and aims to make players feel the same sense of power as heroes in comics and manga.
'UNDEFEATED: Genesis' takes place in the same universe as 'UNDEFEATED' and narratively serves as its prequel.

Patch Notes
New Super Power

Added new super powers unlocked when hero rank is B or higher.
If you have already met the conditions, you can use it.

New Events

Added new events that occur when the hero rank is B or higher.
You can transform the newly added superpower into “the long-awaited superpower”.

Gameplay Changes

Supports 4K resolution (3840x2160) and WQHD resolution (2560x1440)
Some billboards have been redesigned.
The billboards were redesigned during the last major update, and they continue to appear in this update as well. Please try to find them.

This year marks the fifth year since UNDEFEATED's release.
UNDEFEATED has also started to be released on PS5 today, and the PC (Steam) version has finally surpassed 2 million downloads. We had no idea that our student project would have such a big impact.
We would like to send our thanks to everyone once again.

Bug Fixes

Fixed a problem that caused the game to appear in slow motion.
If performance does not improve, try playing with lower graphics settings from the options
Parameter Adjustment

Some ability enhancements are no longer cancelled at the start of "Distraction Challenges" "Flight Challenges" and "Boss Battles".
High speed moving is cool.

We are excited to let everyone know that we have fixed the major issue which led to the game crashing for many players.
We have also made other small fixes and changes so please check them out.
Patch Notes
Crash Bugs

Fixed an issue that caused the game to crash on startup.
Fixed an issue where the game would crash after a certain amount of time from the start of the game.
We have done our best to fix these issues. However, these fixes may still not make the game playable for everyone, but we believe it is now playable for more people than ever before. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Language support

The language setting is now set to "English" when the game is launched for the first time.
The display may sometimes still show a mixture of Japanese and English. If you encounter this issue, please try changing language and back again.
Gameplay Changes

Fixed a bug where the normal number of gangs was not generated and quests did not progress.
Increased the amount of damage dealt to bosses based on the player’s hero rank.
Fixed a problem where citizens would remain in a "running away" state.
Some billboards have been redesigned.
Easter Eggs

We have added a very small number of Easter Eggs…

We first released this game four years ago in August 2019. Since then, there have been over 1.95m downloads! We never expected so many people to play our free student project and we’re extremely grateful to everyone that has.

This post is to let everyone know that we have seen the reviews about the game crashing and we are currently working on a fix. We expect to finish development on the patch by the end of February.
Once released, we cannot guarantee that the fix will work for everyone and would appreciate your understanding in this regard.
As soon as we are ready to release the patch, we will post an update here.
Our small team is currently focused on the development of the sequel to this game, UNDEFEATED: Genesis.
Once we have finished and launched the patch for "UNDEFEATED", we will get back to making "UNDEFEATED: Genesis" the best game we can.
