Netflix is making significant moves into the video game industry, according to a new report.
The Information said the company is hiring for an executive to lead its future video game initiative, and is on the hunt for senior figures within the industry. Early discussions apparently involve potentially launching an Apple Arcade-style bundle of games without adverts.
In a statement issued to GameSpot, Netflix said it is "excited to do more with interactive entertainment".

Fixed being able to select offscreen quests in the quest UI with mouse & keyboard.
Fix for rare issue where a step of the Slumber Party quest could be skipped.
Fix for molotov thrower in the Town Hall weight room killing himself every time.
Fix for rare issue where a boss could reappear in the Funhouse when he wasn’t supposed to.
Map now invisible in Cabin Ambush Void level, like the other Void levels.
Hawkins Lab switch puzzle no longer requires interacting with all switches before the puzzle solution will work.
Adjusted timing and location of the Mike / Lucas / Eleven conversation at the hospital.
Reset button added to a tricky part of the pizza parlor quest.
Enemy bodies can be stepped on when using mouse & keyboard.
Several fixes for cases where Hopper’s buddy power could be used to bypass cinematics or other content.
Quest steps will no longer show values above the maximum (eg, 7/5 chewing gum).
Improved hint about where to find sardines.
Improved player shadows.
Minor art improvements and fixes to seaming and object sorting.

A new run of Stranger Things hit Netflix today, but I’m not allowed to watch it until the missus is free to binge on it too. She didn’t say anything about not playing Stranger Things 3: The Game, though. Out today and developed by BonusXP (the folks working on Dark Crystal Tactics), it’s a very Super Nintendo-styled action RPG with split-screen local co-op. Perhaps not quite the same ’80s nostalgia as the show, but it doesn’t look half bad, and the developers claim it covers most of the third series’s story. Below, a launch trailer, although I can’t say how much of it is spoilers.
