Build 0.0.47 is live!
This is a pretty hefty optimization update, plus we added some very cool things to the existing games we think you'll like!
Please check out the short note at the bottom of this changelog, as we are nearing an important point in development.
Changelog:
SPStruct:
- Added a new character! Thanks to Kayin Nasaki, the creator of I Wanna Be The Guy, you can now play as the Kid in the Guppy's Quest level editor of SP Struct! This character is currently the only one to wield a gun, however he has only 1 health. So be really careful...
- Defeat is no longer just a simple respawn, there's a fade out transition at the end where you respawn and all enemies are reset. Basically, the whole level is reset
Gon Ball Rally:
- Gravity has been insanely adjusted, so now the powerup is much smoother, and should feel way better to use!
- The angle that the camera bases around is automatically adjusted in a smooth transition
- Controls are no longer in any way inverted, they act the same as they do on normal gravity
- You can't fly anymore, but thankfully no one ever noticed that bug!
- Added a new level that finally uses the mini powerup! It also features a lot of new obstacles and decorations, so be sure to check it out :)
- Added unlockability for Stained Glass ball. It was previously in the game (along with BallHoneyComb) but was never attainable due to no proper way to unlock it.
- Added a ton of sound effects! We're still tweaking the audio balance, so make sure to use the "musicvolume 0.5" command if you want to hear them better.
- Added scenery to the bottom of Shroom Gardens. Now it looks much more full!
- Fixed a lot of lighting issues
Keyccordion Dawn:
- Added Melancholy Melon (original song by Hyochan, remixed by OctoNote)
- Certain timestamps will trigger special events, check them out! They are currently only available on the Melancholy Melon level.
- The menu is still very WIP, but added an option to play two of the songs now
- Highscores now register separately for each difficulty and hand mode, allowing you to currently attain 6 different high scores for each song.
Desktop:
- Taskbar and desktop widgets no longer refresh upon returning to desktop!
- This means the welcome message only shows up once, on startup of the game, and every time you reboot it
- All your widgets you had previously open wont mysteriously disappear
- For those who noticed that the Discord message for you being on your Desktop doesn't change/go away, it should now. So now you don't have to avoid the desktop to display your Discord status!
- Icon for Keyccordion is still WIP... sorry!
Personalize:
- Avatars now appear in folders if they were bought from the shop, to optimize the loading times and also to organize your avatars better!
Shop:
- Added 3 new avatar packs! SP Randoms 1, SP Randoms 2, and Kewtia 2.
- Avatars appear in square frames now for purchasing.
!!Important Note!!
We are nearing April, a month in which we want to attempt to have a Kickstarter campaign. Making ME-OS has been insanely fun, and me and Emily really enjoy putting a lot of effort into making this game just all around cool for everyone to play. However, in order to afford more time to develop this kind of project, we would need financial backing. At this point of time, we are considering what kind of advertising we will do (commercials, social media marketing, etc.) and gathering ideas or thoughts to show for the trailer. If you have any suggestions, especially things you would like to be shown in the trailer and marketing efforts, now is the best time to say them! Beta testers, if you have any remarks or concerns about what needs to be improved before we really put ourselves out there, we would love to hear your feedback.
